Tschrshelli -
I'm happy to hear you have a goal. Sometimes it's easier to focus on the non numbers goal when you have a stall.
My smoothie was frozen strawberries with a cup of water unsweetened coco and a pinch of Splenda. Taste like a chocolate covered strawberry.

Good luck with the job, it's tough right now. My daughter is an education major and is thinking of changing majors....
My short term goal is to stay on plan all next week. My husband and oldest daughter will be out of town so my youngest daughter and I eat out a lot when we don't have to have a plan every night. It should be ok because she has drivers Ed 2 nights from 5-8 and she works at Rita's 3 nights 4 -8. So that only leaves us 2nights for possible trouble for me. I'm thinking Panera 1 night for the garden salad which is 175 calories with lettuce , tomato and cucumbers no dressing. Steakhouse the other night side salad with protein on the side.

Keep up the great job on pounds lost.
I wouldn't do the tummy tuck and the lift of the girls till you stabilize at a weight you are happy with for 6 months as you will have better long term results.

Have a great night.

happy thursday ladies!
i'm back up today a bit and have been playing with the same .4 pounds for four days now sooooo it's an apple day for me. i have a medley (lol) of granny smith, golden delicious and macintosh to 'spice it up' a bit. i'm hoping for a loss tomorrow that will help me get my head back in the game. yesterday i walked for 20 minutes on the treadmill on an incline and burned 125 calories so i was happy about that. im actually not terribly frustrated bc i feel great, and feel smaller, but i just love to see that number on the scale head down instead of jump around the same half pound. today is my 11th day of vlcd so im more than half way there!

Anyone have a goal to share?
DH and i are thinking about the Warrior Dash which i heard is similiar! its a 3.2 mile run with obstacles like climbing over a wall, walking on a tightrope bridge, jumping over fire...crawling though mud and under barbed wire. i have an aquantance who runs marathons and she had trouble! it took her two hours to finish so dont at ALL feel bad if you have trouble. it takes a ton of upper body strength i'm going to do p90x to get in shape for it once i hit p3. so, that is my goal i want to lose enough that i can get through my p90x workouts and be ready for the Dash!

Looks like our bodies behave in similar ways Abby. I am on Day 9 of VLCD and total loss has been 6.4. I will be watching to see how the apple day works for you! Like you, I feel great too but the scale seems to be the biggest reward for us!! Come on apple day!!!!

Down .4 - certainly no Whoosh (love that word lol) but that makes for a happy Hope this morning.

I love the Swiss Chard I had last night, so much so that I am having it for lunch today.

Todays menu:
L-apple, cottage cheese and Swiss Chard
D-Sirloin and spinach
S-orange

Yeah, I haven't made Chili yet, still need to find the recipe, but I will soon. I am on Day 9 of VLCD so there is till lots of time!!!

I'm thinking about purchasing some Walden Farms products (I have to do so on line though). I think they will be good for P3 as well. Does anybody have any favorites or recommendations? If this is my lifestyle, I need to make it work!!! My concern is the "cleanness" of the products - is there a lot of processed junk to make it no calorie?

Here's hoping to a great day of melting for YOU!!!!

carmel or chocolate dip for your apples
just about any of the salad dressings, they are thin but have good flavor
the asian ginger is better for "stir fry sauce" than salad dressing
I like all the BBQ sauces again thin but good flavor, try using them more as a marinade or dip than bbq sauce
PB is nasty as is the plain mayo, the chipolte mayo is good as a veggie dip
I like the strawberry and blueberry jam haven't used them while on HCG but used them alot when on WW.

If your tummy is sensitive to sugar alch be careful with WF chocolate dip I can't eat much of it at a time

Hopeful- I just copied and pasted this recipe from this forum:

HCG CHILI

7 ounces tomatoes chopped
100g beef (extra lean ground beef no less than 96% or ground chicken would also work well)
1T + 1t Chili powder
1t paprika
1/2t cumin
1t Onion powder
2t Chopped garlic
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Cayenne to taste

Brown beef in fry pan with 1t chili powder (If using steak mince then brown with a bit of water or stock and the 1t chili powder)

Put all ingredients in a saucepan and cover cook over low heat adding liquid when necessary until cooked, stir often. Add water or chicken broth if you like to bring to your desired consistency.

P2 chili is very easy to make. Everyone makes it a little differently. I make mine with extra lean ground beef, or steak or roast cut up, sometimes even chicken. I add a can of diced tomatoes (some people like Rotel or fire roasted tomatoes) and season with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper and a little water. Sometimes, if I have the extra calories, I will use 2 cans of tomatoes. I cook it to a boiling simmer for a few minutes till all the flavors are melded. Yum!

I don't like a lot of the Walden Farms salad dressings. Some of them have a funny aftertaste. I do like to use the Asian or Sesame Ginger for stir fry sauces. And I like the Thousand Island on a burger patty (reminds me of a Big Mac sauce), but I haven't found one that I like as an actual salad dressing. The pancake syrup is nice to dip apple slices into or mix with mustard to make a dipping sauce.

I finally lost a whole pound! That is rare for me. Makes it easier not to cheat when you actually lose more than .2 at a time.

hope - i liked the chipotle ranch dressing by WF. it's got a good kick to it! the chocolate sauce i wasnt a fan of and actually threw away, but im super 'taste sensitive' to diet products and the HCG chili is great. when i was doing that and the orange ginger chicken i was losing very consistently. im going back to that tomorrow! here's the recipe if you're interested. when i do it i use half an orange and save the other half for 'dessert'. i also add some water to help the simmer. its so good!

I would like to have some "work done" when I reach goal, but no funds for that! I'm just gonna have to make due with what I end up with.

Congrats on your lb loss, Tay!
Abby, thanks for the recipe. I haven't tried that one yet -- looks delicious! What vegetable do you eat with it? Sounds like it might be good stir-fried into some shredded cabbage.

I am down .5 today.

Vlcd 3 for me 199.8
I weighed twice to be sure it stayed the same. I maintained at 197.8 for two years. Im hoping this is not a set point for me as I wasn't able to get below that number for more than a day in the past. I'm praying my body doesn't remember that.
Today so far apple slices and a very watered down decafe iced coffee. I'm not hungry yet today.
Maybe shredded chicken with a bit of buffalo flavoring. I need to check the label for sugar.
Maybe a walk later as its very nice here today. I'm scheduled for a massage later today because of a problem with a nerve in my shoulder. I'm wondering if it can be done without the oil? Hmmm.
Stay focused on your plan and it will all be worth it ! Or just walk thru the mall and see the swimsuits if you need a visual to stay focused thats what did it for me today. Sending the whoosh fairy to all of those in need.

hi denise - i've always had it with a big pile of lettuce and fat free/sugar free low cal dressing. this isnt protocol but i love my salad with maple groves sugar free rasberry vinigarette. they have an amazing sugar free balsamic as well. if you are going strict protocol you can make up your own dressing that is pretty tasty as well!

Hi all~! I have been following this thread. Can I join in? I am new to this. First time I have tried the HCG diet. I am hearing rave reviews from people so we will see what happens. I actually lost 102 lbs on the weight watchers progam before I got pregnant. Everything worked great for me but now since I have had them I struggle to loose consitently. I feel like I work so hard to get minimal results and then I give up. Here is where I am at:

Load 1- 167.8
Load 2- 169.0
VLCD 1- 170.0
VLCD 2- 166.6
VLCD 3- 164.6

Very excited to see these results!! Hope they keep coming!

Todays menu
B; Apple and tea with stevia
L; Grilled shrimp, steamed broccoli, strawberries, melba
d; Grilled sirloin maybe. Tomatoes, mebla

PS....I noticed some were talking about broccoli and asparagus. I have been eating both of those and have had great results so far. Lost 5.4 lbs in 2 days.

where did you get your eating plan? As long as its working I wouldn't change, BUT broccoli isn't on the original Dr. Simmeons plan
Of course I'm 1/2 Rouge I eat OP but I use my regular lotion and hair products, and take a boatload of vitamins

First day on VLC and I start TOM. You will see below how the weight fluctuates when that happens. I'm peremenopausal so I can't plan for it. Some months I don't have it. Some months I have more than one. I'm going to continue with hcg and just hang on.

LD1 117, LD2 120, VLDC1 115

B apple
L chicken, asparagus
S apple
D bison, spinach

I read the protocol and I did notice that broccoli was not on the list. However, I work with a gentleman who has had great success with the plan and he ate both broccoli and cauliflower regularly. Its workin for me so far so good.

I just need a clarification. I read a lot of hcg posts and I get a bit confused by what some do. If I make chili, can I use canned tomatoes? Can I use Rotel with diced habaneros with 3g sugar? My GUESS is that I can use canned, but it must be without sugar.

you can use any that have no ADDED sugar
tomatoes do have some natural sugar just find the one that's the lowest
I use Rotel all the time its already "spiced" up

I always tried to get the lower sodium tomatoes. I stalled for an entire week when I didn't use low sodium broth. The regular stuff was on sale, so I figured it wouldn't make a difference. I retained water all week and didn't start losing again until I switched back to the lower sodium. After that, I tried to be more careful! Just an FYI from my own experience.
