possible saboters are you using lotion or cream on your skin? are you using makeup for dry skin? have you done a de-tox bath (1 box bakingsoda, 2 cups epsom salts in a bathtub as hot as you can stand it), tried an apple or steak day? Bernice been to your house? drinking enough water?
Detox bath
1 box baking soda + 2 cups epsoms salts in a hot bath, stay in as long as you can (I can only handle about 30 min)
it pulls the "poisons" out of yoru skin/system and also is a diruretic (sp)
when you get in the bath if you have enough BS and epsom you will feel nausous, dizzy and your face will sweat I feel flu like when I have it right
its best to do it right before bed so you can go straight to bed afterward
the next day you will feel fresh, engergized, happy (almost high??)
I try to do one at least monthly

I cooked up some ground turkey breast this morning so I will be prepared for lunch. I didn't have any chicken defrosted but I've subbed lean ground turkey before and it hasn't hurt me any. Later I will put a roast in the crockpot for dinner. I'll have enough turkey and beef leftover for other meals this week. So hopefully I am back on track now.

I read some of that Fat Fast thread but haven't really read up on the theory itself, just kind of glanced at it. Do you still stick with 500 calories but just eat more fat? That would probably be hardly any food at all since fat is so high in calories. But it should be more filling, right? Sadly, most of my off-plan eating is not because I am hungry, but just because I love food.

YH, hope you saw a loss this morning!

My menu for today:

B-black coffee
L-P2 chili, orange
D-roast, spinach, apple

Lots and lots of water today!!!
I'm trying the lots more water today too! Good luck to you, Denise!

I'm actually hitting about 1000 calories... which is kinda difficult from some of those on the FF's thread - I'm reading about them going overboard with 1300 or even 1800 calories... honestly, I was so full yesterday with only the 1000. If nothing else, it's like I'm reloading right now.

I'm like Pooh Bear for now, got a rumbly in my tumbly... for the last 12 hours! Hopefully that subsides... hoping some extra water helps clear me out too... I got about 15-16 cups in yesterday, shooting for closer to 20 today.

I decided to attempt sticking with the FF at least one more day, but I started out my morning with 2 scrambled egg yolks with a little butter and one small beef sausage - not that I like something somewhat processed, but I needed a little extra protein. Comes to about 83% fat, just over 200 calories... but there's practically no carb there, so most of the rest is protein. Although my head and stomach still feel a little unstable, something in me did feel instantly better once I ate that. I'm gonna shoot for an average of 85% fat today instead of the 90% I got to yesterday.

I think I really got some of my cravings satisfied yesterday though - think chocolate ice cream, chocolate peanut butter candy, and peanut butter cheesecake... LOL! I get creative with my fats. The ice cream was basically HWC and egg yolks, the candy was cocoa crack with a smidgen of peanut butter/butter mixture on top, and the cheesecake was basically cream cheese with a little PB... all sweetened with a combo of vanilla cream stevia drops and sweet n low.

We'll see what today brings... hopefully some more #1's for my dear friend John... and Aunt Bernice must finish her visit once and for all!

Doing good so far. Had my P2 chili and orange. I have been drinking tons of water. I think I'll have my husband pick up a couple of lemons today so I can have lemon water tomorrow. That always helps flush things out for me.

Really? We've got infinite lemons from the tree out back... Never thought about that as helping me flush out. I think I have to be back on VLC before I try that.

Dr. S recommends the juice of one lemon every day in your water during P2. Works as a diuretic. I've always had good losses with it. I don't know if it would work during a Fat Fast but it couldn't hurt to try.

Oh I would love some lemons. We have apple trees in our backyard. Hey, we can trade!!

If I remember correctly I believe that lemons also help to cleanse toxins from your system... use those babies!!

I looked it up... a quarter cup of lemon juice contains 21g carbs, 1g protein, 0g fat. It's kinda the opposite of FF percentages I need to shoot for... even a Tbsp of it would still be up there. In a day or two when I'm VLC-ing again.

It does make me wonder though if lemon juice could be the culprit behind my mom's weight issues when she struggles with maintaining... she uses an awful lot of lemon juice in her tea throughout the day.

One small lemon contains 5.4 carbs, 1.6 dietary fiber, 16.8 calories and .17 grams of fat. You must be looking at the bottled lemon juice?? I use fresh lemons for my water. I just put a slice in my glass each time I refill till I am finished the lemon. Maybe your mom needs to switch to fresh lemon too.

Oh... no, no bottled juice. We use the lemons from the backyard. I just did a search online for lemon juice nutrition facts - I didn't even think of that, it's probably just a bottle those facts came from instead of fresh lemons. Thanks for shedding some light... but but that still is kinda hefty in carbs and negligible on fat for a fat fast.

Yes, if you are on a fat fast, I'm sure you want something with more fat.

I got my counts from ******. I didn't think the carb count was that high considering that is the count of the entire lemon and really, I just squeeze the juice into my glass and leave the slice floating, but I don't actually eat the lemon. I throw out the slice when it gets droopy and add a fresh one. So it's probably less if you do it that way and don't eat the pulp and flesh of the fruit.

I do a half lemon lightly squeezed in hot water first thing in the am everyday- i have read to do this on so many diets-helps to detox and move things. Then the same half keeps going in my other glasses of water with a squeeze.

Monday i was bad. My son was admitted to the hospital and on the way home i stopped and bought my ultimate vices. I ate 1/2 box of jujubees and a bowl of chips when i got home. The rest of the bag of chips is hidden under my bed now along with the remainder of 1.5 bx of jujubees. Yesterday i stayed on plan. Gained 1/2 pound Tues. and down the 1/2 pound today, hopefully my screw up is out of my system.

Yellowhair - Is your son ok?

I often put a few drops of lime juice in my water. Frankly, I guess I have felt like it was "free" this whole time. I should probably analyze that. Do ya'll think it's possible that something like that could be slowing down my losses?

Yellowhair... I really hope the tests come back with nothing major! Thinking of you and praying for you and your son!

Congrats on that continuing slope downward, Denise! That's awesomeness.

Well, I completed day 2 of my experimental fat fast... even tried the Epsom salt bath last night. (So relaxing! I listened to a Disney World podcast while I soaked... felt like a little vacation in my tub!) I did a little better feeling-wise. I had 20 cups of water and food came out to 85% fat, 12% protein, 3% carb yesterday... the extra protein helped - I'm sure, and it was such small amounts. But I still had a somewhat iffy belly and my head wasn't feeling right. Then last night I got really hungry and drank some diet soda to help with that... woke up in the middle of the night with a funny feeling in my throat and had a few more sips of diet soda, then a small piece of matzo to calm my stomach that was still iffy. I really wasn't feeling right and knew I'd be going back to VLC today. But the good news is that this morning the scale went DOWN A FULL THREE POUNDS! That's more than my average loss from weeks 4 & 5 combined! Amazing! I wish I could stick with the FF one more day, but I knew my body was saying no...

I will tell you that P2 chicken with a pile of roasted onions never tasted SO GOOD! My body instantly told me thank you with that first bite of lunch today!

So now I am 147.0! (I walked around a bit and got back on the scale to double check... yep! 147.0 on the nose!) I don't want to get my hopes up that it will definitely stay there or be lower tomorrow, as my body may say "whoa" and shoot up a little before I go down some more. I could change my little square at the side of my posts from 60-lb club to 70-lb club, but I want to make sure I have a few days below that 148 mark before I do. Part of me is hoping that my body saw the fat fast as a little load and I'll just keep going down... we'll see... really don't want to get my hopes up and become disappointed.

Two more pounds to goal... P2, R5, D39... yeah, I'll be going past day 40, but hopefully not for long. At least P2 foods appeal to me once again!

Yellowhair--I do hope your son is OK. I tried to do a round with loved ones in the hospital. Stayed on plan all day in front of everyone but at night fell apart. Ate more than my share of chocolate. My DD was in the children's hospital for her diabetes last year and then DH's aunt went in right after DD for a full 9 days. Talk about stress!!! I hope you fare better than I did!!

Ithink--thank you for sharing about your FF experiment. That is a whoosh if I ever saw one!!! Congratulations for getting it!!!

YH-jujubees and chips under the bed would be too much temptation for me especially during a stressful situation like yours. Sorry to hear about your son needing tests.

Ithink-I can only imagine how you must feel. Maybe, someday, it won't be just in my imagination! Good for you.

I cut out the melba and one fruit yesterday and was down another pound. SOOOOOOOOO close to 199.

Down .5 today. That may change since my husband is making ham and beans with the leftover ham for supper. It's been simmering on the stove since this morning and it smells soooo good.

Glad you're still losing through this, YH... hope things end up ok.

Denise... another .5! Great!

I'm up .5... of course... because my body doesn't wanna just let a whoosh be a whoosh and continue... oh well, still 147.5 ain't bad as long as I don't keep going back up! So instead of 2 lbs to go, it's 2.5... happy day 40 to me... just had to crack open another bottle of hcg to celebrate...

adeline - Welcome! I think flounder is okay. The vets on here will know.

Denise - Is it a little chilly your way too? I'm making ham and beans with honey cornbread for my family tonight. I'm sticking with P2 fare.

I weigh before going to bed AND first thing in the morning just for interest's sake. I always weigh one or two pounds less at night. I would think it would be the other way around because of the food for the day. Maybe I just retain water during the night and that accounts for added weight. Anyway, I just count the morning weight.

Yes, it's been chilly this week. Brrr! My husband suggested cornbread but I think we're going to make biscuits instead. I am not a huge ham and beans fan but I probably will have some as I've been smelling it all day and it's making my mouth water.

I would think flounder is okay as it is a white fish and not oily, right??

I always weigh less in the morning.

Most people way less in the morning. My best friend's mom is one of the odd-balls though who ways lessat night than the following morning. Interesting that some of us can have bodies that work so differently!

I kinda like the fact that I lose weight in my sleep. Don't you wonder where it all goes though? I know I don't produce 2 lbs of pee each morning before I weigh! Lol!

Not a great week for me in the weight dept. I have 2 low calorie days left without injections and then on to p3 to maintain what i have lost, is there a minimum time to be on p3 or must it be 3 weeks ? I thought i would lose more in p2 but ill take the 20 pounds. I just want to keep going. So its my understanding that if i go 2 pounds above my last low calorie injection day that i will need a special eat day to lose and if i go below 2 pounds i should eat more-is this correct ? For some reason im thinking p3 will be more difficult for me ! on your losses guys !

Yes, keep track of your weight. Whatever your weight was on the last day you took an injection... that is your ldw (last dosing weight). If you go more than 2 lbs above that, you need to do a correction day. The first couple of days on P3, I lost a couple of lbs but I never had problems with losing more on P3. It's weird but you don't normally. Find out your BMI and how many calories you should be eating. No sugars and no starches. Eat lower sugar fruits now so apples will be on the bottom of the list. I will look for the list for you or maybe it is on this board somewhere. But now you can add in fats -- full fat salad dressings, cheese, sour cream, variety of meats, you can have more than one vegetable at a time, etc. Maintain for 3 weeks. Then you go to P4 where you slowly introduce some sugars and starches, and you will be able to tell if your body can handle them or not (if you gain, don't eat that starch/sugar again). Three weeks of P4 and then if you need to lose more weight, you can start P2 again. It's really important if this is your first round to do a full P3 and P4.

Oh and 20 lbs is awesome!!!
