For those with Type II diabetes...
How closely do you follow protocol? Do you eat the fruit/grissini? If not, what changes do you make and either way, what are your blood sugar numbers like?
TIA! |

I started dieting a year ago with an A1C level of 8.8. My doctor was so frustrated by my diabetes not being controlled that he threatened to put me on insulin if I did not do something drastic.
I did 2 months of low carb, and then 2 rounds (90 days each) of hHcg. As of my checkup last month, not only was he shocked at how I looked and how much I weighed, but he darn near keeled over when my A1C came back at a 5.8. He proclaimed me to be a non-diabetic, and this was after SIX MONTHS of no diabetes meds. I know it's not what you asked really, and you and I have pm'd about this before, but I have the hcg diet to thank for essentially reversing my Type II diabetes. I did not eat the melba, and ate mostly strawberries due to their being lower on the glycemic index. Apples usually spiked my BS. My numbers are totally normal these days. In fact, I only really check them about 2X a month now... just to be sure. ![]()

Hi doxielove - I am an insulin-dependent type 2 diabetic, and have been on Hcg for almost 2 months. I am following protocol as closely as possible (even though I've had a few rough days - not hunger, just circumstances), and have currently cut my insulin in half! I don't always eat the breadsticks or melba toast (not a big bread fan), and my Dr. said to have an extra fruit or something so I could keep the calories about the same. My blood sugar has come down steadily, and I've lost over 30 lbs so far. I'm on prescription Hcg spray, and she wants me to take the next month off, then I can go back on again for another 60 days. This is the best thing that has ever happened to me in the dieting/health realm! I would recommend Hcg for anyone!

I am going to bump this up for someone who wants to start P2. And is diabetic! IF anyone wants to chime in on how they ate while in P2 I know it will help other diabetics decide if they can do this.
