1st attempt and cheated.

I started HCG 9 days ago. Loaded for 2 and did a strict protocol for 7 days... and then the weekend came. My gf was celebrating her birthday and wanted to go to a great hibachi restaurant that I love and haven't been to in so long. I thought about it long and hard, considered trying to stay on protocol but made a conscious decision to go off plan for the party. So Sat and Sun I ate poorly. BUT, I'm not looking back. I want to get right on plan.

What are correction days? Should I just go back to 500 cals or do something more drastic.

I found weekdays surprisingly easy but weekend tough. At least this time I know that and mentally prepare for the extra will power needed. I'm single and do go out on the weekends. Although I do feel good about going to happy hour on Friday night and drinking nothing but seltzer and being ok with that. How do you all handle sticking to plan and having a social life?

I use intermountain drops and only lost 3.4 lbs in the first week, being very strict. (I think if I had lost more I would not have made the decision to cheat). I'm thinking about getting some "real" HCG. Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome. Weekends ARE tough for sure! And it's doubly hard if you give yourself permission to not just eat one meal off plan but a whole weekend. The mental part of this diet is the toughest and if you are not in the right headspace, you can easily get distracted. You may very well not lose much for the next few days because you decided to go off plan but the only thing you can do is to stick with it and resume the VLCD right away. There are no "correction days" in P2--they are for P3/4. The apple days in P2 are for stalls, not to fix a cheat.

When you think about "only" losing 3.4 pounds in the first week, think about how many you would normally lose doing regular LC or weight watchers or some other diet. Probably a whole lot less. Also think about not losing any for 3 or 4 days or setting yourself back to 2 or 3 of those pounds before you decide to cheat again. In most cases, it's just not worth it. Most people in P2 go into social lock down mode for the short time that P2 lasts and plan their rounds so there are no real celebrations or events that they need to deal with. It CAN be done but it's a whole lot harder to stay on plan. I don't think real vs homeopathic hcg had anything to do with how much weight you lost. Most people get the same results with either. The amount lost in the first week varies depending on your normal diet, what you ate when you loaded, how much you have to lose, your particular body type and the phase of the dang moon!

Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the reply Shelby! I've read many of your posts and you are very inspiring and helpful and you look GREAT!

You hit the nail on the head. I actually gave myself permission for 1 cheat meal and then extended it a bit- which wasn't my plan. UGH. I was thinking 21 days is 3 weekends. I can certainly survive 3 weekends. Doesn't sound so tough when I think of it that way. And then after the 21 days I will decide if I want to extend it.

Thanks for the warning about not losing much for the next few days. I guess when you play you have to pay, right? I'm counting today as day 1.

Good luck, get up and move forward like you have! and I hope you don't have too many days where you don't lose.

Shelby's right, most of us just consider the short period of P2 as a social lockdown. Although, 3 years in a row now I've been on P2 for my birthday! And no, I didn't cheat! I happen to love strawberries on my birthday for dessert!

Yep, the anti-social, hermit routine serves us well in P2. In fact, that's the main reason I'm struggling with extending this round. I could keep going (feel good, not hungry or depleted) but I am not sure I want to endure 1 more weekend. And I'm concerned if I "endure" a bit longer I may rebound and go nuts into P3! the stabilization in P3 is huge part of the success of this protocol.

and just pick yourself up, brush yourself off and start again. This plan does work!! Just make up your mind that "you can do anything for 21 days".

Thanks so much for the encouraging words and info!

Well, it took me a few more days than I thought it would to get back in the game. OMG, I binged. Was odd actually. But did get back on plan. Strange thing is I only gained 1 lb back and last night lost 1.4.... So, I think I got my one free pass and don't expect to get that lucky again. I really want to drop pounds fast so I'm DETERMINED to stick to protocol for a minimum of 21 days and hope I can go longer. I have about 30lbs to lose.

Julieboolie, you're right... I can do anything for 21 days.

C'Marie and MsHistory... Social lockdown is a good one! Although I will be bored. Bored but getting thin eventually. It will be worth it..

Does anyone see any harm in drinking seltzer?
