What's going on. This is me. Round 4 & ready to quit this time

I have been doing hcg for almost a year now (10 months). I've lost 50lbs and prior to that, I lost 110lbs low-carbing since 2006.

I'm 10lbs from my goal of 150lbs. I'm 5'5, so I don't think I'm at all at "immunity" or at such a low weight that my body is fighting this.

BUT - I am starving. I know this should pass, etc etc. Well, not this time. This is VLCD12 and I shouldn't feel like this. Other rounds were NEVER this hard. I never once cheated on any of the other rounds. Yesterday I cheated and today, I cheated. Meanwhile, I've been mentally cheating and thinking about food constantly during this round. And when I cheat, I'm not grabbing bread and sweets, I'm going for food b/c I am hungry for my VLC food (any food to fill my stomach). It's so bad that I'm ready to call it quits. It's just too hard and it isn't supposed to be like this.

I've tweaked dosages - from 10 drops to 9 to 8...back to 10 and then 9. This is insane. Could it be birth control (nuvaring)? This is the first round I'm on birth control while taking hcg. Also, it's not the hcg either b/c I just switched from Evoke to Intermountain yesterday (b/c I ran out of Evoke).

I can't live like this for the next 2 weeks, but I do want to lose the weight. Not to mention, I have been so dang depressed as soon as this round started. But my sanity and happiness are worth more to me than starving for the next 2 weeks to lose 10 more pounds. For the experienced, please tell me what other option I have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have done more rounds than me, so I don't know that I am experienced but can tell you what comes to mind for me.

How was your load? I didn't focus on fat and eating to the point of disgust my first round and had a lot more hunger than my second.

How long was your last round and your P3/P4 break time in between? Is it possible you are experiencing immunity because it hasn't been long enough between rounds?

I do RX and my doctor generally offers appetite suppressants on HCG as well, because some people do still experience some level of hunger. I did on both rounds, but it didn't turn into that unmanageable type of hunger you are having now until after about day 40 where I think I get develop immunity even though they say that doesn't happen with sublingual tablet dosing. It does for me on prolonged rounds. Is an appetite suppressant from a weight loss clinic an option for you?

My doctor says if the hunger gets too bad to increase protein for a few days and then drop back down. Their protocol is 6 oz of protein twice a day if you are over 150 lbs and 8 oz twice a day if you are over 200 lbs. I have consistently eaten 6-8 oz of protein twice a day during both of my rounds and lost well. I would certainly go up to at least 6 oz twice a day for a few days and see if that improves your hunger.

Or you could do an interruption if you can endure 3 days of VLCD and see if a a few days of P3 eating makes it easier to restart.

I sure feel your pain. I would not be willing to endure that for long either. I hope things get better for you soon.

Oh no! I am very distressed to hear this. You have worked very very hard to get where you are.

If the only difference in your experiences is the birth control, I wonder if that is it. Can you increase the protein calories a bit to get the hunger to calm down? You're right, you should be done with hunger by day 12 - although I can tell you on my Round 6 this last time it took quite a bit longer for the hunger to go away, it might have been close to that.

As far as dosage, I don't do the homeopathics usually so I can't advise you there at all.

(((HUGS)))

No advice, just a big hug. I do think maybe the nuvaring is to blame -- I know that TOM makes me a lot hungrier, and the pill used to do that to me as well --so I suspect you found your culprit.

Those hungry rounds are miserable -- I've been there!

Are you losing? So you know the hhcg you have is effective at that? if so, then I would say try an appetite suppressant perhaps and power through. If you know that you're losing, and you're so close to goal, and the only thing stopping you is hunger, maybe that would help.

Thanks for your thoughtful response. My load was normal/the way it has always been during all of my other rounds. It's not great and I didn't stuff myself. But I didn't in any of the other rounds either. It shouldn't still be a problem on vlcd13.

Also, the break between my last round was the longest it has ever been. My last P2 was in November 2011. I was in P3 and P4 for about 4 weeks or more each. Don't think it could be that.

I guess it's just time for me I don't know what appetite suppressant would be able to help with this as I have done research for one in the past and was never really successful.

Getting one prescribed by a doctor would take time and I am about to crack. Don't know how much longer I can go like this. I'm fighting through but this just doesn't seem normal.

Hey, yes I am losing which is probably the only thing that has put me through to this point even. I haven't had much previous luck with appetite suppressants. I will try and increase my protein today and give it all I have.

I already gained 1.6 from yesterday's cheat and it's not fair to myself to do this starving. Not sure what else I can do. Never have i gained in all my rounds. This cheat/gain happened due to being flat out hungry. I will try to take that weight off today and if by tomorrow, it's not better- I will walk away and accept the weight I am.

I am so angry and discouraged with hcg.

Thanks! I'm starting to think so. I can't just abruptly stop, so I'll have to choose one or the other. I hate both right now so we'll see which way this sways. Thanks for your support!

That stinks!! I'm sure the BC is a big contributing factor. you're closer to goal weight and I think most of us tend to lose less, and less easily on subsequent rounds.

All that to say, !! I wish I had some advice!! I hope the hunger goes away. It's really awful!!

Just my opinion but I also am inclined to blame the NuvaRing. I had a not so good experience with it, all hormonal...maybe you are too.

WOW! You have lost 160 pounds??????? That's incredible. I am literally bowing down to you. I have lost 85 of my 125 goal, and this is one loooong road!

Anyways, I ditto the nuvaring and upping your protein. I listened to a podcast from a hcg expert and he said that it's almost literally impossible for protein to turn into fat...so, it might slow your losses a little bit, but it shouldn't make you gain. Also, I feel your pain. TOM is looming and last week I just could not get satisfied at all, every day was miserable.

I say, do what you have to do to keep going and if upping protein doesn't work, then maybe try warm tea? I can choke green tea down if it's sweetened w/ Sweet N Low. Coffee helps me too, and I use FF HNH.

You are very motivational!!!!

The intermountain bottle that I just opened Saturday afternoon is new. The evoke bottle I've been using all along was from an older round (October 2011). Could that be the reason? I didn't even think that could be a possibility.

Thank you very much! It's just so hard to accept closing this chapter when I'm so close to my life goal.

I actually just bough a 2000 hoodia appetite suppressant to be shipped to be tomorrow at work. That in combination with a tiny bit more protein might help me. I will truck through tomorrow and see what happens. Several of the ladies suggested the appetite suppressant. I hadn't thought much about that. I want this so bad that I'm willing to give that a try even though hhcg should def be enough.

Ugh. Damn this. Thanks for your uplifting and compliments!

It could *absolutely* have something to do with it if your hhcg wasn't "fresh". A whole lot of folks have hunger problems with older pellets or drops. I hope your new bottle does the trick! (I bet it will!)

I tried Nuvaring and couldnt stand it. There were many awful side effects including that it changed my ph level, maybe because I'm allergic to latex I dunno but that alone was unbearable... I got these really coarse super dark chin hairs which was absolutely disgusting and I was very emotional too on top of it all. I took it out right away and you couldnt pay me a million dollars to try one again. Well maybe a million bucks if you provided lifetime supply of waxing products prozac and summers eve LOL! Blech what a bad experience. I blame it all on my sister and her bright ideas lol.

Ugh! Well b/c I’m cuban, I already have that problem naturally. I’d go to the salon DAILY if it means this dang HCG and Nuvaring work out together. Sheesh! Lol.

This nuvaring made me emotional, depressed, AND gave me nausea every night (that alone, I cannot stand). So needless to say, this is coming out soon. I don’t want to damage anything or create a larger mess with my cycle so I will wait until TOM. I hope this new bottle does better for me today. My appetite suppressant arrives today, so I hope to get this resolved today and pronto!

Wow! You have done a wonderful job! I only wish that I had the motivation that you had these last 10 months!!! I keep losing and gaining the same 10 pounds.
I am sooo sorry that you are struggling now
It was after I read one of your posts earlier that I decided that I needed to get my butt in gear!
When I am a hungry now, I have a little more protein. I also am trying to drink 2 glasses of water every time I eat something. That is in addition to my water that I already drink. I also try to spread my food out....I have a protein powder that I can put in my coffee if I feel hungry in the morning, and then I save my fruit and melba for snacks.
Hang in there!!!! You can do this!
How much have you lost this round?

Hey! Thanks so much for asking. Still hungry. Pretty hungry, actually Maybe not as starving as I was when I cheated out of hunger on Sunday.

But my appetite suppressant was held up and never arrived today. Scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully that will save me. I'm trying my absolute best, but without that aid coming in tomorrow, I won't do this 2 more weeks.

I am still trucking and had a bit more protein today. I hope to lose more tomorrow.

NO!!! You are not allowed to feel disappointed in yourself. You can be disappointed that you're hungry...but that's likely the BC not you! You ARE AMAZING!!! You are gorgeous and have been a rock through this whole thing! If you can't make it work with the Nuvaring...wait a bit, get rid of that, and try it again.

You're a lot of people's hero hon. Don't be hard on yourself.

I've been on the nuvaring for over 2 years. I have had no problems on it with or without the HCG. Mood swings, irregular cycles, etc have all stabilized on it and for the better. It's always interesting to me how it can work great for one person and not work at all for another.

Just popping in to say I hope the appetite suppressant helps, and that it makes the rest of the round tolerable for you --

As appetite suppressants/fat burners go, I do like OxyElite Pro (Netrition sells it) -- I don't actually find it suppresses appetite all that much (it does, somewhat), but it does help a lot with fatigue.

Maybe the new pellets will kick in and help a lot.
