Day One
Hi,
Today is my first day and I'm feeling full from breakfast still. I cannot imagine how I'm going to continue to eat all day. Especially since my family is heading to Olive Garden for a fat/carb binge meal for me. Any suggestions on how to survive two days of this much food? I marvel that ever got this big because I really don't like to eat much these days, but then again, years of eating wrong foods has caught up with me I suppose. Tzipora |

Stick to low-carb, high-fat and you should feel better. It's actually better to NOT load on all sorts of junk and sweets and carbs. That can set you up for some awful detox the first week. Try steak and veggies and cheesecake. Guacamole. Cheese. Nuts. Stuff like that... Good luck!

Thank you
I survived all the food (mostly proteins). Today is day one VLCD and I'm feeling just fine. Lots of water, iced coffee (no dairy - thankfully I learned to love coffee black years ago!)
What's amazing is today I woke up with more energy than I've had in months. Here's to less of me! Thank you again for the replies. Tzipora |

Popcorn is Cruel!
Hi,
Just remember in a few weeks we can have that popcorn if we really want it. So far I'm pretty amazed as how little hunger I'm feeling. Working from home does make this easier since I am in complete control of my environment and can "hide" in my office away from the kitchen and temptation. I keep trying to not focus on what the scale will say in the morning, I put on two pounds while "loading" so I hope that's gone soon. My friend has lost over 50lbs on this protocol in the past year so I know I can do it too. So can you. It's nice to meet someone else beginning at the same time. Good luck to you as well. Tzipora |

Come on over to the weekly P2 thread! Lots of people having the same experiences. Oh and I hope you were pleasantly surprised by the scale the last few days.

Day Four
Hi,
I am loving this protocol! Four days and 4.2lbs down. What's amazing is the part where I'm not hungry and feeling great. I went shopping and measured out enough protein for about 2 weeks (maybe more) in chicken, flounder, ground turkey, shrimp. I did turkey sliders on cucumbers and had trouble finishing them the other night. Last night I did a lettuce salad, "blackened" chicken (I used water in a non-stick pan to cook through most of the chicken, removed the liquid and sprinkled the chicken with seasoning and "blackened" it, then added a chopped apple. It was more food than I could eat comfortably! So I nibbled at it for over an hour. Thank you all for the support as well. I just read the tips for P2 and am pleased to have them to read again and again when I feel weak about the protocol. Tzipora |

Hi Shelbyla,
I am so happy with the way this is working: 2/26/2012 207.2 loading 2/27/2012 207.8 loading 2/28/2012 208.8 2/29/2012 206.0 3/1/2012 204.2 3/2/2012 203.0 3/3/2012 201.8 3/4/2012 201.4 I feel empowered on this. My kids had friends over the weekend and I was able to cook for them, not taste anything and left the room when they started to eat the junk food. So far so good and while this was the "smallest" drop to date I know that in the end it all balances out. I'm finding that apples are a blessing since they are crunchy, sweet, moist, and filling. Having at least one a day. DrBird (tzipor) |

Hi,
First day of an increase (.2) which is probably more due to no BM for a day or two now. I know once that "moves" I should see a nice drop. I've been really happy so far and playing with the limited foods is like playing Chopped every meal. Tonight I did cabbage, apple, ground turkey in a curry. I almost couldn't finish it but I'm hoping the fiber will help my body do its thing. Still positive. Tzipora |
