Do you lose fat cravings?

I loaded for 2 days, did LCD for 14 days and am loading again today. For one thing, the fat seems to fill me up very quickly. I am finding it difficult to eat as much as I normally do (that's probably a good thing, because I have a tendency to eat more than I need to).

Also, fats don't seem to stay with me for too long, if you know what I mean...sorry if that is TMI, but is that a common occurrence?

I have done Atkins and variations thereof for years, got down to the mid 170s and stayed there...maybe this will help me learn to eat less, and eat less fat.

The right kind of fats are actually a good thing. You don't want to deprive yourself of them despite how much the media tends to emphasize lowfat garbage.

Just avoid the fat in P2, but in P3/P4, you certainly can enjoy that fat... especially more liberally when you are limiting carbs, as Simeons says - heavy whipping cream... butter... cheeses if your body tolerates them... yum!

Better to crave fat than sugar and starch.

Why are you re-loading? Just curious, did you have a p3 at all or are you just taking one scheduled day off?

Ellen -- I have had to add some fats even in p2 toward the end of long rounds -- some people seem to do okay without them, others don't. I tend to crave them more and more as the round goes on.... and my body doesn't function well without them, even for the length of an extended round.

I totally agree with IThinkICan -- there is no reason to limit fats for the long term -- they are actually good for us, and limiting them is not a good long-term plan for most people (unless there is some medical issue that prevents eating them, like a missing gallbladder, etc.) The limiting of fats in p2 is temporary.

I may do a mini re-load between the two legs of this round myself -- it seems to help some of us get through stalls and such, and keeps energy up and hunger at bay.

Hi Lara,

After 14 days LCD I lost 4 pounds. My TOM started 4 days in. Last time, I had lost 7 pounds after 6 days. So I felt I needed to re-start.

I'm all ready to get back on the wagon tomorrow morning!

Hi Mini,

Yeah, the mini-reload feels good. Just surprised at how full I am! Let's hope this gets me a new start.

this, exactly. low-fat has a good rep in the media because there is SO much financial interest backing it. avoiding fat is NOT a good thing (save for trans fats, don't eat those), unless you're in P2.

you should watch Fat Head. it's on netflix, and it explains the whole low-fat story and why high fat is good for you. and he did his own 1-month experiment, morgan spurlock style, only eating high fat and reducing carbs. very interesting stuff.

Yep gotta agree with Star. His website is pretty cool too. Just google Fat Head. I'm working my way through his reading list right now.
Fat is GOOD
