Mints?

Ok ladies now being a counselor I'm around people all day, and I'm very into fresh breath lol...

Ever since I started HCG I haven't had any mints, can't do gum due to TMJ, so was wondering if you have recommendations for a minty sugar free breath! I love butter mints and peppermint rounds but am hesitant to try anything sugar free as I haven't had any icky sugar alcohols since October.

Bumping this!

With so many views someone has to know of a good brand mint to try!

<newbie on these threads weighing in>

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for several weeks over here and been so suported and encouraged by everyone's posts. I've been doing HCG in a more rogue way for a couple of weeks; more of a general low-carb way. I've lost about twenty pounds in six weeks, so happy!

Sunny, I work with the public too, in a library, and I use Trident sugarless cinnamon gum; actually about half a stick so I can easily tuck it into my cheek and not have a wad, lol. It's made with xylitol, so not sure if that's one of the sugar alcohols you're avoiding, but it hasn't stalled me at all and really helps with the ketosis breath.

Edit: Oh sorry, I just re-read your post and see that you can't do gum. I know the protocol says avoid mint; aren't there any sf cinnamon sucky-things you could use?

I need to read labels! Just so many out there do was wondering if anyone had success with certain brands.

I can do xylitol, and right now almost at p4 so not worried too much but also would like a healthier alternative

Sunny - Do you have Trader Joes? Have you tried the Altoids Smalls? The regular size ones have sugar but the minis don't. They also come in a small tin that's easier to tuck in a purse or pocket. They have sorbitol but they are so small that the amount is negligible. I also like Australian chewing sticks (flavored toothpicks) by Thursday Plantation. Obviously you wouldn't want one stuck in your mouth while talking to someone but they only have tea tree oil and cinnamon oil and stevia as ingredients. And speaking of gum, I've heard good things about SteviaDent, although I haven't tried it myself.

I have TMD as well, I actually have an appointment today at 230 with my oral surgean to get trigger point injections with botox (new studies show it's good for the TMJ muscle lol) funny how i'm getting botox at 29 for medical reasons!

Heather I have heard of that!
I currently use a mouth guard and as long as I don't stress (hilarious in my job) I'm not in a lot of pain.
Let me know how that works for you.

why the hate on for xylitol? as I understand it, that's one of the two sugar alcohols which are actually good for you, unless you're sensitive of course. (the other is erythritol )

I'm fine with xylitol
Im actually ok with all sweeteners I just prefer only xylitol or erythritol.
Would be great if they made stevia mints!

oh! in that case, try spry mints! they're delicious, and sweetened with xylitol.

yea i hear you on the stress part, i have two mouth guards one for the top and one for the bottom, i hate them (but i'm not a grinder they say)

SO botox hurts like the dickens!! my right side the tension was relieved immediately (the right side is my bad side) but he did the left side too so I'd be "even" lol...the left side of my face feels like i've been sucker punched it's swollen and bruised. I got 3 injections on both sides (so 6) in my cheek muscles, 3 between the eyes (to help with tension headaches) and 2 on my right temporal lobe and one on the left...so lets see...12 needles? yep! If it works I'll go back every 3 months and thank you Air Force for free botox for life doc says it'll take about 1-2 weeks for it to settle in and work so i'll keep you updated

This is a little off topic, but I just had to say to anyone struggling with TMJ you may want to try your chiropractor. I had problems for years. I had mouthpieces that I ground right through (I grind my teeth at night). Nothing was helping. I had never even thought of a chiropractor for it but I was there for something else and it came up somehow. She treated my jaw a few times and it held for several months. I started having pain again and went back and she adjusted it a few more times. That was over a year ago and I don't have any pain or clicking anymore. Thought maybe this would help someone.
