Well, saw my ND today and they ran another body composition. I've lost fat alright, but also a bit of muscle. So she wants me to up my protein to make sure I'm getting 65-70 grams a day to counteract the muscle loss. She said I should be getting more calories too, and not to worry about it, but I am. I'm going to eat more protein, but going to do my best to still keep those calories down to 500. I'll give up that calorie rich apple if I have to, I don't want to slow my losses. All in all though I've lost 3% body fat! This really is a great way to loose fat!

Yes, technically you would only do an apple day, however some have found doing an all protein day can also jump start loss. It's not a steak day, it is the same P2 approved proteins you would eat normally, just you would eat more of them and nothing else.

Thanks ladies!
I am following Dr. Simeons plan, so my only "option" is an Apple Day. But Apple Days are really only for psychological reasons, and I am not there yet. I am having at least one "cheat" meal on Sunday (birthday celebration) so maybe that will kick my weight into movement, even if it's up a bit. ![]() |

Hi All! I'm a newbie in the second week of R2. I lost 28lbs in the first round and hit rock bottom yesterday by cheating (pizza, wings, soda) and gained 2lbs. Im having an apple day today but feel like just getting back on protocol was a better option. Did I use Apple day incorrectly?

Apple days are for stalls, and even then only for psychological reason and shouldn't be used to "fix" a cheat. Just pick yourself up and brush yourself off and you will be fine!! ![]() Here is the information on ADs. "In such cases we consider it permissible, for purely psychological reasons, to break up the plateau. This can be done in two ways. One is a so-called “apple day”. An apple-day begins at lunch and continues until just before lunch of the following day. The patients are given six large apples and are told to eat one whenever they feel the desire though six apples is the maximum allowed. " |

Down .9 today weighing in at 144.9. At the beginning of this round, I didn't think it would be possible to lose 30 lbs. to get to goal, but with 1 week left and 4.9 lbs to go, it just MIGHT be attainable. Fingers crossed!
Happy Friday, all! |

Thanks for the Apple Day info Ladies! The apple day put me back to post cheat day weight but I'm hoping to gain momentum from the apple day because I had stalled out a bit. Back on protocol today and am hoping for the best!
Does anyone exercise?? I was told not to but sometimes I have this extra energy that I want to burn off. |

This morning I gained back the .4 I lost from the night before. No biggie. This week 3 sure has been a slow one for me though. I've only lost 1.6 pounds with only one more day left in it. But almost 2 pounds in one week is still better than anything else I've tried. Gotta keep perspective!
Today will be day 2 of adding in the protein shake my doc wants me on, for upping protein and liver cleansing. It's nice to be having breakfast again! Hope it helps things along. ![]() |

Are you getting close to TOM or ovulation? They always cause me to gain and/or stall. How about the plumbing?? If you are clogged things might come to a stand still until things start flowing again. What protocol are you following? Strict Simeons or an altered version?
Remember in the protocol Dr. S reminds us that many times days of no loss or small gains are simply tied into to water in/water out. The fat it moving ....then all of a sudden we will have a day where we pee like crazy then whoosh 2 more pounds are gone. Shirley Round 3 VLCD 46 - 25.6 pounds Total hcg loss: 88 |

Do any of ya'll ever look at your food and think there is no way that can be right?....That maybe you've over measured and it is too much?
Am i just losing my mind?? I'm sure it has to be mental....and could be tied to the nights i'm just not hungry for dinner? |
