Hi I'm New and need help

Hello! I'm so happy I found this forum! I have been on the HCG diet for one week and I have lost 11.2 pounds! I'm very excited! I just hope I can keep it up. Just wondering how you all are doing as far as dry skin? My skin is soooo dry. I did read where you can use baby oil, so I'm wondering if it's ok to put it on every day?

My skin is very dry too! I have been using baby oil and it seems to be ok.

Yes, baby oil is fine. Also mineral oil, Aquaphor, and as mentioned, Vasaline. There are some lotions that have a mineral oil base that some folks do ok with--Lubriderm Sensitive Skin. Also Neutrogena has a good oil-free facial moisturizer. HTH

Welcome!

I'm not an HCG'er yet as I'm considering it but I was thinking skin brushing would probably help a whole lot.

Your doing great!! I have trouble with dry skin too. I have aloe vera gel that I've used and any mineral oil based lotion. I have some Eucerine and I've used that and been ok

I do skin brushing, more to stimulate the lymphatic system and to help with potential loose skin after weight loss. I don't know if it helps with moisturizing, but I don't have too much of a problem with it. I have some aveeno lotion and have used coconut oil about once every 10 days after skin brushing/magnesium bath. My doctor said that lotions were ok, but to avoid any with Vitamin E oil and to not use them every day, only when needed. My dr has me on a modified protocol though so I think the coconut oil is not protocol. I am just willing to do it every 10 days or so even if that means I don't lose as much weight the next day.

I have heard that mineral oil can actually be drying to to your skin, so I avoid the baby oil.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm on round 3 down over 80 pounds and have always used regular lotions. I just read the label and if I don't see any nutritional oils like coconut, almond, avacado, olive, sesame, etc. then I buy it and use it in phase 2. :-) There really are many options out there unless you are a person who prefers "natural" lotion. If you do, then you'll want to look for "oil free" formulas. That is what I prefer when I'm not on phase 2. I use coconut oil and shea butter and tea tree oil when I'm NOT on phase 2. But during phase 2... I use just a little of what I consider to be yucky lotions. Thankfully our rounds are short enough that it is bearable!
