Any diabetics here doing HCG?

I'm Type 2 diabetic and did h-HCG successfully 3 years ago. This time around I'm experiencing very little weight loss. I'm slightly rogue, but not very -- Omaha diet without the grains or alcohol. Ends up around 560-600 cal a day. The issue that is bothering me is the last time I did HCG my blood sugar dropped quickly and by the second week I was taking less insulin. That isn't true this time.

So... any diabetics out there doing HCG and want to visit a bit on how I might tweak things a bit to make this work? Thanks.

I would like to know how a diabetic does on this diet. I have a friend who is thinking about doing it. The doctor wants to do a gastric bypass on her, and we were thinking this can't be any worse than that...better in my opinion.

I'm not diabetic but my dh is. He is type 2 on a metformin blended with Januvia. He is just starting R2. He had absolutely no problems on his first round. Lost from 282 to 236. We kept his caloric count each day to between 700 and 900 by adding protein and more of the vegetable. Still only 2 breadsticks and 2 fruits a day. We monitor his sugar daily. He is usually reading between 95 and 105.
As for the bypass. I had a stomach stapling in 1991. If I had known about hcg then.........this girl would never have gone through that radical choice. I'm not a person that dwells on past decisions so I've never regretted (life's too short). My top weight at the time of my surgery was 348. I've always just considered that I saved my life then by making the choices I did. BUT, this sure would have been a smarter way to go!!!!
As you can tell......I love hcg!!!! I wish you much luck and sure hope your friend considers this option.
Betty

Thanks for the info Betty! I'll tell her.

I do hHcg on my own, because I don't really have any serious medical problems. I was wondering if my friend should have a doctor monitoring her.

Thank you for this info. I'm not sure what is happening this round -- I'm losing extremely slowly and as I noted in my OP, blood sugar is not dropping as in the past. But I'll keep on and hope that losses might increase.

I am diabetic. I did one round of RX HCG, no problems. No more meds, A1C levels are so firmly in the "normal" range now that my Dr is astounded. I lost 44 lbs. I've been in maintenance for 5 months. I did not have any issues with the diet at all.

I am an insulin-dependent Type 2 diabetic. When I started this (a month ago) my doctor suggested i cut my insulin in half. I didn't at that point (too nervous about it), but monitored it closely. I am now about down to half the insulin I used to take, but it wasn't a drastic, overnight thing, even though I stuck to protocol. I am doing the prescription Hcg, and my doctor is working closely with me on this.

The only trouble I've had with this is bad habits. Grabbing something as I walk by. Other than that (and I'm fighting it!) I have had no problem sticking to protocol, no hunger, no super low blood sugars, etc. I think it is a Godsend!
