Nice losses everyone --we are on a roll, and let's keep it going!

I'm working at home today -- and enjoying some quality pigeon time right now-- Hazmat and Psyche are out of their huts, enjoying some flapping and cuddling time -- that's a lovely way to start the morning!

Erin, my last round (10lbs, 20 days) I ate low carb and still lost well. So good for you!! I LOVE popcorn!! Can't start eating it though or I will go to far. Glad to see you lost!

Mini, WOO HOO!! Off to a great start! KUTGW!! Enjoy those birdies!

Cathy, don't push it girlie! I have pushed injuries before they were totally healed and it made it worse. Glad it is getting better!

Cathy, you can have one bigger butt cheek, and Disney can have one buffed out arm ..lol!

Seriously, though... very sorry about both of your injuries, and I hope they heal quickly.

Nice job with the LC, Disney -- I really hope that works for you to get where you want to go.

Cheryl, glad the wine didn't slow your progress!

Julie -- hope this round treats you well! We both deserve it after all we've been through to date!

Paula -- I don't know what to make of your dip in weight, and then back up -- except to say that I did essentially the same thing this round. I saw that 103 once, and then never again.... At least it seems things are going in the right direction now, and let's hope they continue. You also deserve a great loss after being diligent for so, so long.

Yea for birdie time! I've been working at having the parakeets sit on my finger while they are in their cage. Only Coconut will do it, and still sometimes she's reluctant. The other two just squawk and make a hasty retreat into their food cage (I have two cages linked together.) So, at least one of them is open-minded. I envy you your cuddle time! Enjoy your day of working at home!

Stacey, during that LC round, did you also eat low fat, or did you do it Atkins' style? I'd love to hear about that!

Cheryl -- that's the way to do it with the parakeets -- one little step at a time. If one starts being tamer, it'll likely rub off on the others as well -- though that isn't a guarantee. Glad you are making progress with the one, in any event -- parakeets are pretty jittery little birds on the whole, but they can become very tame with time and persistence. And they sure are cute little things!

I've thought about getting a parakeet, but the last thing I need is another bird, lol! I already have 3 very tame pigeons who demand a lot of attention -- they get jealous of each other -- when I pay attention to one, the others get fussy... it's pretty funny. They can be very possessive of their mates... and all of them want to claim me at this point.

It's so much more fun to have a bird that is loving, so keep those pigeons and forget about parakeets! If I had it to do all over, I'd have spent more money to buy tame ones from the get-go. It takes a huge investment of time and patience to tame one that is fearful. I've tried but haven't been persistent about it. I used to take them one at a time into the upstairs bathroom and close the door. I got them to sit on my finger for a while and then they'd fly off. But I could always get them to sit on it again from wherever they had perched. Now they only want to flee and if I go to hold them, they bite like the dickens! They don't just bite, they go back and forth with their beaks like a sawing motion. MAN that hurts! But they are colorful and lovely to watch and listen to.

Here are Cosmo (blue), Scooter (yellow) and Coconut.

Good too see so many had good weight losses! Woot!

I had to take my daughter to the doctor today as she has an eczema flare up and we're out of meds. Bad mommy hadn't paid the doctor in quite some time so we havn't been able to go. Anyway, paid the bill off so now my kids can have physicals, lol! Anyway, the doctor mistook me for the babysitter. He was floored by my looks. We've had the same doctor since my son was born. He and I have spent some fun evenings together in the ER with me son and he knows a lot about my life. He even brought my huband the newest Harry Potter book when my daughter was born and in the NICU (she was 7 weeks early) and knew we missed picking up our books. Anyway I loved every minute of it.

LOL, the only birds I've ever owned are chickens and ducks! The kids want a parakeet or something similar and I'm freaked out by them. We did have a pigeon who flew into our chicken coop and stayed a few weeks though. He was super sweet! Love the bird stories!

Awww -- they are so cute!

It does take time and patience to tame a bird ... and some just won't be tamed. I have one rescue hen that still hates it when I get near her -- and I've had her for years. I gave up trying to tame her past a point -- and I just try to keep her happy and let her be.

I never had to work to tame Slayer -- he just decided he preferred people to other birds. Psyche has been held a lot since birth, so has always been tame -- and Hazmat bonded with me during the weeks upon weeks of tube feeding we had to endure together.

Most of the rest of them are tame to the degree that they don't mind me at all, but they aren't cuddlers. The doves will sit on my finger, but they don't care for being held, per se --

Cheryl and Mini (and any I missed) gratz on losses.

Melanie, I love that the doctor didn't recognize you! That's great.

Cat hang in. some of the "weight" is probably inflmmation from the injury.

Gawd I was hungry this morning. There was a major interstate shut down so I had to come back home. but that was good because I made a 1 egg with 2 white scramble in PAM. Couple hours later an all egg white scramble in Pam.

Here's recipe you might think sounds gross but its pretty good. Green beans (canned, sorry), sprinkled with Tony Cheaceries Seasoning, heated. The pour on Walden Farms ranch dressing. Really quite tasty.

I am taking hhcg, pellets in the morning dose and 2 doses of drops in afternoon/evening. Although, I forgot my pellets this morning so will have to fit them in somewhere this afternoon.
I desperately needed fat too...protocol foods, even my recipes and variations, did NOT appeal to me at all. It probably signals that I'm due for a break but I'm gonna power through til the end.
What I have been doing is logging my food, my ratios have been 50% fat, 25% protein and 25% carbs, average so far (of course, this is only day 3) and about 700 calories total. My fat so far has come in the form of peanut butter, mayonnaise, and HWC. I have still lost 2 pounds in 2 days (1.2 day one and .8 day 2). Next trip to the grocery store I am buying quinoa and cottage cheese to play around with, and avocados too! We will see what the scale does tomorrow but I am happier with slower losses if I can eat different foods and still lose.

Stacey, that is good to hear! So far I'm loving the low-carbing "protocol" I'm doing so it is encouraging to hear it worked for someone else too!

Cheryl, I actually don't "like" popcorn, at least not this 100 calorie garbage! I want the yummy movie theater butter popcorn instead but I hardly ever get it at the movies anyway... The 100 calorie bags I ALWAYS burn, I don't know what my problem is, lol! I stand by the microwave the whole darn time!

Good evening.
Wanted to report some news. I'm starting a juice cleanse tomorrow. I talked to Dh about it and he said he'd back me. So I went to the store and am ready to start tomorrow. The benefits are supposed to be great. I'm aiming for 5 days right now and then if it works well will try for 10 days at the end of the month.

Please forgive my lack of personals. I'm reading but am limited on time with the kids and Dh preparing for deployment.

I would definitely want a cuddler. Animal affection is all I get these days. But I'm okay with that. Animals rock!

Mmmm. Egg whites with Pam. I need me some yolks. I can do the eggs in a carton, but only because they taste like there is some yolk in it. Glad you enjoy it though! That green bean recipe sounds interesting. Never heard of that seasoning. Does it have MSG in it? I'm so sensitive to MSG.

I like your percentages and I'm so happy for you that it's working! KUTGW! Don't you love being a rogue? I do! I don't like the plain 100 calorie popcorn either. That's why I'd always spritz the heck out of it with ICBINB spray and then sprinkle it with the popcorn cheese powder. It is a little tricky not letting it burn, but you just have to see what time works with your particular microwave. I think mine was about 2 minutes and 15 seconds. A few kernals would be borderline burned but that's better than having a bunch of unpopped kernals. When you're only eating 100 calories, you want all of it!!!

Erin, its not you, the 100 calories bags burn 99% of the time for me too. I gave up and bought the big bags. But I will eat it all so this round I don't have any in the house.

Cheryl, its Tony Chachere's original creole seasoning. No MSG. Here, in Louisiana, we just call it "Tony's" and it sits on the table with the salt and pepper and the hot sauce at all times. A giant size one is kept in the kitchen for putting on everything else, scrambled eggs, anything you cook. I think when we lived in Texas we got it at Albertson's. Or we might have had to get Momma to send it. I can't remember.

However, I must warn you, that if you get the salt free or low sodium Tony's it is nasty beyond belief.

Sue and Cheryl, I am glad it is not just me! I have adjusted the time on the microwave and still stand there, when it sounds like its done I take it out, and it reeks to high heaven and every kernel is brown! LOL!! I expect to get 5 bags out of the 10 bag box, so that's it...we need a support group, lol! Or a thread, "How to pop 100 calorie popcorn!"
The big bags, yes I would eat the whole thing even if it is "lowfat, no butter"....considered buying big bags, but NOPE can't do it...

Stacey, if you don't mind sharing, how did you do the low carb hcg? What was your calorie limit and do you know your ratios?

Disney princess, good luck with your juice cleanse! I'm definitely interested in hearing how it goes!

It's pretty funny, being the protocol gal now, after being rogue for so long...lol! If the losses keep up, and if the hunger suppression stays as it is now, I think protocol is the way to go for me this time around.

I am committed to giving it my best effort, in any event. Today I have had strawberries, a little lean beef, and part of a cucumber -- and lots of black coffee.

I'm only doing a maximum of 30 days of this, so I think I can hack it. Then, a p3 by the books, and lots of prayer for stabilizing well. Even if I stall, I am going to try to hang with the protocol and just wait it out. I think I rogued myself into a bad place this last time around.

If I am still wanting to lose, I'll do another protocol round after a stabilization break.

Yep! You're the protocol girl now! We'll be the naughty ones and you can live vicariously through us.

Erin, I like your idea of a popcorn support group! I think I'll invest in an air popper for when I'm in maintenance at goal. I am doing this round grain-free. I've had an air popper in the past and they work much better than trying to nuke those little bags that have little oil in them.

I can understand hubby's caution. That's understandable. Well, maybe just pics of the inside? How's the packing going? I know for you, packing to move is a good thing full of positive emotions. For me (this time), it's going to suck. Downsizing is always rough. But as soon as I know my D-day, I will get into high-gear.

All of you complaining about burnt popcorn...that is the only way I like it! We have a mircrowave popper that I add coconut oil to and then the kernals. The butter and salt after cooking (burning). Total PERFECTION!!!

Erin, my cals were between 800-1200 because I was exercising too. I am not sure of the percentages, but my fat was the highest. I would say 50% fat, 30% protein and 20% carb if I had to guess. I wasn't as good about logging in my food at that time. It was an experiment and it paid off! Hope that helps.

Jackie, good luck on your juice fast. A friend of mine just did one and she loved it. Cheated at the end and felt sick as a dog though. So ease back into regular food at the end.

30 days!
Well I hope that means it gets easier as time goes by. That's what I've been reading

I'm starting with 5 days to test it out. Dh leaves the 17th for 5 weeks so I'm hoping to do a long stint with it.
