Stay the course Cristen. Hope the stall breaks today. Water. For some reason, when I stalled out, it seemed like it was harder for me to keep up with drinking. Given your location, I don't know how you can drink enough anyway. Being at a significantly higher altitude last summer really seemed to make us need more water than we could drink!

I found that a calorie bump to about 1100 calories for a day was as effective as an apple day. It seemed to bump my body out of starvation mode. That's what got me started on the alternating calorie regiment.

Check out post #30 where Nola explains the concept to me. My experience with a refeed day during P2

I probably could drink more water...but my intake has been pretty good lately...I'll for sure bump it up today.
And I decided I'll do an apple day since its already 11:17 and I'm not hungry. That is actually one thing...I am not at all hungry...and I didn't take my dinner dose of hhcg last night oh...and that me reminds me...I better get some drops in me now

I'm popping over to check out the re-feed now Terri

Hey Girls... just checking in for today.

Yesterday I was up above my +2 window BUT TOM is coming on stronger AND I was sore from cleaning. So I just decided to eat whatever. Ended up with about 2200 calories at 84% fat.. I had no goals for my eating that day, just ate whatever I felt like.

Was down .4 today but still 1.2 pound above the +2 window, but I'm still sore and still dealing with TOM. Yesterday I did NOT feel "controlled" with my eating and cravings mind you I was mainly craving coconut products and fat... so that is what I ate. So last night I decided that I'd try a Leptin Rx BAB this morning. I'm NOT a Krause addict, but I do think he has some valid points re: Leptin and how it effects our over all health. My last phase 3 I did the BAB and felt GREAT.. had contolled appetite and cravings... today I wanted to feel in 'control', so figured out what I'd eat for breakfast before I went to bed.

My BAB was:
1 green smoothie made with 5 ounces spinach, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1 cup whole milk kefir, and 1/2 serving of protein powder
7 ounce hamburger
1 fried egg
coffee with 2 tbsp cream and 1 tbsp coconut oil
Total calories 1200, total protein 67 grams, and fat percentage was 69%.

It is 12:30 and I'm still not hungry and feel so much more in control of my appetite. We'll see how long this lasts. I'm not sure what I'll eat later other than I do plan to have some protein and more coconut oil and my beloved coconut manna when I do get hungry... maybe some greek yogurt too. We'll see... AHHH speaking of greek yogurt... my yogurt has been fermenting for 24 hours now... better go put it in the fridge, the stuff for the kids, and strain the stuff I want to make into Greek Yogurt... gotta fly!

Have a great day!

i just can't keep with DDs. i don't know why...i feel binge-y on UDs and i don't like that. i am still way to up on the scale. to stop the binge-y feeling, i am going to try 1000-1200 cals FF days instead of traditional DDs. i'm hoping that will help me get down on the scale and then i'll decide what to do about maintenance. i'm so frustrated right now....why does my frame of mind have to change to abruptly sometimes....i just don't get it. just feeling blah right now....don't know if it's some sort of hormonal shift or what. i don't want to pass the buck and not take responsibility for my actions...but i just feel blah where diet is concerned and i'm sick of it and don't understand what changes. hoping that using FFs for DDs will help to keep my mind from feeling whatever it feels to cause me to feel binge-y on UDs.

sorry for the pity party....just needed to vent a bit, i guess....

I hear ya girly-girl. Sometimes it seems like a light switch and I have no clue why. I think you have a good strategy though, just do something different. I don’t think the ”what” is as important as the change (at least for me). It seems a lot easier to change direction then regain grains of sand slipping through your fingers sometimes. I think that’s why it been so hard for us to do a real P2 again. Maybe down the road but right now I just can’t get back there. You’ll get it, just go for something that fits your frame of mind at the moment.

Had a great weekend! Went for a blossom run Saturday. We live in an area with lots of agriculture. The almonds, peaches, nectarines and plums are in bloom. Quite beautiful. Yesterday I spent hours in the yard planting. The food was all good, but had a big jump today up 2.2. I figure it must be from water retention, I can feel it in my fingers. So lots of water and keeping it clean today. Maybe I'll do a beef day. I think I might be able to swing that. I’ll have to think about it in the shower.

I’m so glad you’re going to the Chiropractor. Do you have one? If not, look for one that graduated from Palmer. That’s the oldest most respected college.

Well I had a nice visit from my favorite Aunt after I posted, so that but me back just in my window. Funny thing is, that went ahead and encouraged me to do the beef day, I was waffling before. So I made a chuck roast in the crock pot yesterday with green chili salsa and have leftovers. I made some for breakfast and have more for lunch. I took out Bison for dinner and will make patties with a side of lettuce dressed with lemon. I brought an apple as a backup in case I get too hungry. Beef day usually nets me a 1+ loss that generally sticks. That plus lots of water and no formal exercise for a day or two ought to put me right as rain.

i do have a chiro, but don't know where he was trained. never thought to look as i rarely go....generally it's a neck thing like this. it has to get worse, before it gets better right?? i think it hurts worse now than it did before seeing him. he did take x-rays and will hear what he decides about those on wed when i go back. told me i should only use one pillow at night.

your beef day sounds like a plan and congrats on getting back in your window. i never re-weigh int he morning b/c once i weigh i take a shower and drink coffee...once i do all that the scale is always up.

guess it's just a basic LC day for me today. tomorrow will try a FF.

Terri do you get your latte breves at Starbucks? How much cream do you use and what is a typical day of eating for you. Do you do HCG or high fat? I am a runner and am sick of fruit diets and starving. I also have done the Carb Addicts Diet with low carb and a reward dinner. I am very interested to hear how you lose on latte breve and what sweeteners do you use/

Good morning!
Hope the neck is better this morning

Well beef day netted me 1.90 so all is good with the world.

Hi Oriana,
Right now I'm doing P3 maintenance. I'm not taking HCG at the moment, but can't say enough about it. It got me where nothing else could. The HCG diet is a challenge to be sure, but comparably it's short term because you lose so fast. After that you go about maintaining, eating low carb and lots of food.

Yes I get my Breves at Starbucks, but to be fair they are a special treat, not an everyday thing. Because they are 400-500 calories each I compensate with calories elsewhere. But the high fat is really working for me to maintain, not to mention satiety.

I don't have a problem with sweeteners like some do. I use Splenda, Stevia and Erythritol for the most part and like to combine them for best flavor.

If you're interested in HCG, the first thing to do is Google “Pounds and Inches” and download the manuscript and read it cover to cover. Then read the different threads particularly the stickys. Ask questions, the people here are awesome and so helpful.

Good Luck!!

woohoo on a beef day!!

something has GOT to change for me. been doing a lot of praying and hope to get in a better frame of mind.

when think back over my weight loss journey's, i always come back to something i did to lose weight years ago. the lady was a whackadoodle, but her principles make TONS of sense. ever hear of "weigh down workshop"....yeah...google that for a good read her basic premises and principles were...eat ONLY when your stomach "called" for food...to me that meant only when my stomach physically growled. another principle...eat enough to stop hunger. THIS was the hardest part for me. but basically all it is is portion control. she went at her weght loss program from a biblical perspective which is what drew me to it. when your mind wants to eat when you aren't physically hungry...instead of eating, she encouraged prayer or getting your bible out.

anyway, i say all that to say that i have been trying to do this weight loss thing on my own, on my own strength. i need to get back to the basics of when i most successful at weight loss...which was when i was using a much more spiritual approach. i will still probably stay mostly lc but i am going to work in more of the concepts of eating ONLY when my stomach growls, stopping when i have had enough (very tough for me to do as my mind/mouth want to keep eating when my stomach no longer feels hungry) and pray more to regain control over food rather than food controlling me.

my weight has gone up everyday for the last several days...it has to stop. and i need to stop trying to do it on my own.

neck....sleeping on one pillow was not as bad as i thought it would be, thankfully. woke up still feeling extremely tight an spasm-y. after i took my shower, it has felt 80-90% better. still not full range of motion, but the tightness and spasms are significantly better! PTL!!

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time I have heard of this concept. A gal I know got involved with this through her church. I think it helped her get a little more in tuned with her body and food issues. I think it's worth a try just to rain things in if nothing else. And for the record, the inflammation in your neck could be adding to the problem. I'll bet prayer, meditation, yoga or all of the above would probably help mentally and physically as well. Big on the improvement today!! I hope the scale fairy is happy about this tomorrow as well.

Currently I'm reading Dr. Colbert's "I can do this diet". He wrote What would Jesus eat?, Seven Pillars of Health, Eat this and Live, among others. I'm reading it not because I really need to lose more right now, put I just want to learn more about how to maintain. The premise of the book is "use the power of your brain and body chemistry to help you lose weight and keep it off for life". He talks about a lot of the things we've learned in the last year like the resetting your hypothalamus, hormone imbalance and food sensitivities. I've just started it and am taking my time, but it makes a lot of sense. I also used one of his tricks today. Practice how you'll deal with temptations. Practice saying "No thank you" so when the temptations arise it will feel natural and be easier. I practiced last night thinking about the brownies coming at the retirement party Friday. Today after being offered homemade brownies and fudge I found it much easier to say and walk away. Later when I was alone in the break room getting ready to leave my "Imp of Satan” said I could have just a sliver before I left and then I would be gone and wouldn't have any more around to tempt me. I again said "No thank you" to no one but myself and smiled as I walked out of the room.

I think whatever direction we go, and whatever we do, it's important to remember we don't walk this path alone. We can either reach out and accept his help or not, but he'll be there regardless just waiting for us to but ask.

All I can say is hang in there; this will pass because you are stronger than the evil forces. Take his hand, I'll hold the other and we'll crash through the barriers together.

Given what we learned about our bodies switching into starvation mode, coupled with some of the things I’m reading in Dr. Colbert's book, he’s actually a proponent of the three meal, three snack lifestyle to keep blood sugar stabile, I’m wondering if your body is interpreting the JUDDD lifestyle as starvation.
Down Day – Starvation, reduce metabolism, conserve fat. Up Day – Feast, store fat, prepare for next starvation day. Maybe a more consistent approach and raising your calories would actually be an asset to you. If you combined that with the weigh down principals of portion control it may be worth a try.

Trust your gut, if you think it might be too soon for an adjustment, wait. Remember you're in charge of you.
