They are only for P3 and P4, in order to stay within the two-pound rule. I am sure if you do a search on threads, you'll see them, and the details. I believe also in the stickies at the top of the forum, there are P3/P4 recipes, and in those threads I think are the details. You do not do any correction days on the VLCD portion of the protocol. You just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing, unless you stall 4 or more days, you "may" do an apple day. The ones you "hear" of people doing while on P2, are not on protocol.

In short:
Steak day (this is the only one mentioned in Pounds and Inches, and is the gold standard)

Here are alternates that many people use instead they have found worked for them
Greek Yogurt and berry day
Egg day
Chicken thigh day
all protein day
shake day
apple and cheese day
nut day

These are all geared for correcting a RECENT gain - and supposed to be used, in ideal circumstances, the DAY you go over your two pound window.

More info on these... Any time you are more than 2 pounds from LDW in P3/P4, protocol says to do a "Correction Day" on the FIRST DAY you go over. (If you want to give yourself a larger window or choose to "eat clean" if you are only over by 0.2-0.5, that is fine, too.) Each person is different and some of these will work better for an individual than others. (Steak and GY day do not work well for me but roasted chicken does.) Try them and see. You should see between a 1 and 3 pound loss--theoretically enough to get you back in your window. (I have seen as little as nothing and as much as 6 pounds!)

Steak day - fast all day (can have coffee/tea with cream). For dinner, eat a humongous fatty steak (as big as you can choke down) with either a large raw apple or a large raw tomato. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, dairy, etc.

Split steak day - fast until lunch (can have coffee/tea with cream). For lunch eat a medium sized steak (8oz or so) with a small serving of veggies, if desired. For dinner, eat a medium sized steak with either a large raw apple or a large raw tomato. May use condiments and spices freely but no dairy, etc.

Roasted chicken day - roast a whole large chicken. Start in the morning (if desired) and eat dark meat and skin (legs, wings and thighs) first for breakfast and lunch. If you run out of dark meat before dinner, make chicken salad (full-fat mayo) and eat it for dinner. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc.

Roasted chicken leg/thigh/wing day - same as roasted chicken day except eat roasted legs/thighs/wings all day. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc.

Greek yogurt day - Start in the morning (if desired) and eat 32-40oz of full-fat Greek yogurt plus up to 8oz of berries. If full-fat yogurt cannot be found, add 2T of heavy cream to each 8oz serving of yogurt. No restrictions on non-sugar sweeteners in the yogurt or (if desired) spices. No other protein or veggies.

Egg day - Start in the morning and eat 8-12 eggs throughout the day. Condiments and butter or oil may be added for cooking or to make egg salad but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc.

Fish/seafood day - fast all day (can have coffee/tea with cream). For dinner, eat a humongous piece of fish/seafood (any) with 8oz of asparagus. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc.

Split fish/seafood day - fast all day (can have coffee/tea with cream). For lunch eat a medium sized piece of fish/seafood (any) (8oz or so) with a small serving of veggies if desired. For dinner, eat a medium sized piece of fish/seafood (any) with 8oz of asparagus. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc.

Atkins fat fast - Eat 1000 calories worth of Atkins Fat Fast foods (google for list)

Protein fast - Eat protein (any) all day. May be fatty protein but add minimal fat for cooking. No veggies, fruit, dairy, etc.

Okay, bought a big package of chicken thighs yesterday, and am trying this day today.

Question: Is salad dressing (ranch, caesar) considered a condiment? I'm eating them cold for lunch while working and thought that a little salad dressing might be nice. They are both pretty LC (Litehouse brand, so no MSG), and I wouldn't use much. Sugar is listed in the ingredients, but pretty far down in the ingredient list (like after 10 or more).

Thoughts anyone?

If it were me and I wanted to make it count, I think I would just eat chicken without the dressing. I would be afraid that it would interfere with the correction day and if I'm going to torture myself, I might as well do it the
right way. What do you guys think?

This is what p&i says about correction days...

Skipping a Meal
As long as their weight stays within two pounds of the weight reached on the day of the last injection,
patients should take no notice of any increase but the moment the scale goes beyond two pounds,
even if this is only a few ounces, they must on that same day entirely skip breakfast and lunch but
take plenty to drink. In the evening they must eat a huge steak with only an apple or a raw tomato. Of
course this rule applies only to the morning weight. Ex-obese patients should never check their weight
during the day, as there may be wide fluctuations and these are merely alarming and confusing.
It is of utmost importance that the meal is skipped on the same day as the scale registers an increase
of more than two pounds and that missing the meals is not postponed until the following day. If a meal
is skipped on the day in which a gain is registered in the morning this brings about an immediate drop
of often over a pound. But if the skipping of the meal - and skipping means literally skipping not just
having a light meal - is postponed the phenomenon clues not occur and several days of strict dieting
may be necessary to correct the situation.
Most patients hardly ever need to skip a meal. If they have eaten a heavy lunch they feel no desire
to eat their dinner, and in this case no increase takes place. If they keep their weight at the point
reached at the end of the treatment, even a heavy dinner does not bring about an increase of two
pounds on the next morning and does not therefore call for any special measures. Most patients
are surprised bow small their appetite has become and yet how much they can eat without gaining
weight. They no longer suffer from an abnormal appetite and feel satisfied with much less food than
before. In fact, they are usually disappointed that they cannot manage their first normal meal, which
they have been planning for weeks.

I've done several thigh days and marinated some in ranch and some in caesar, you name it and then roasted it, never messed with my loss that i know of 2-2.5 lbs each time. I LOVE thighs1!
