P3/P4 Simeons Protocol Week 1-23 Thru 1-30

Looks like there isn't a P3/P4 thread but since I'll be starting P3 this week I thought I'd start one for all the maintainers out there... Stay strong! ;)

shelbyla 01-23-2012 04:42 AM

Dreaming of Saturday morning when P3 starts. I'm planning to have eggs over medium (at least 2--maybe 3!) cooked in BUTTER, steak, tomatoes and a big honking avocado! Oh and coffee with lots of HWC! Countdown 'til P3!

moonriver 01-23-2012 06:11 AM

Hiya Shelbyla!

I'm in week three. Maintained beautifully in my first two weeks. Now I'm bouncing up and down two pounds. So today is correction day number three.

Sigh.

Sunny7 01-23-2012 07:03 AM

had my first p3 meal yesterday, a cheeseburger on my oopsie rolls, wow, was that good, had a nice salad with it, and my tea with cream and coconut oil, this morning i had bacon and tea with cream, i am not a egg eater, wish i was, i could make some good omlets----weighed in this morning was only up .o4 i was surprised with what i ate yesterday---my evening meal was a hot dish i concocted up, very filling--- almost felt guilty after eating so much, but not to guilty, i never had any hunger during my p2, just wish i could have stuck it out a few more day, but i was losing so slow, that don't know if it would have mattered and i was ready for p3---this was my 3rd round and i lost a total of 44# in my 3 rounds----my first one was 42 days the second 21 and this last one 25 days, so i am very happy with how much i have lost---i need to lose about 10 more pounds, so i am thinking of a late spring round, but yesterday when i was getting ready for church, i had to try on so many clothes, everything was so big, even though i had been wearing some before, but loseing this last 10# really made a difference in my clothes, i will have to get a few new outfits----its so nice to get back to my regular shampoos and moisturizer, and my beloved coconut oil----and cream!!!!now on with maintaining---

have a nice day everyone, snow here to day

Sunny7 01-23-2012 07:05 AM

oh, and thanks Shelby for starting this thread, i can't believe a year ago you were over 200# wow, you have done fantastic!!!!!and look terrific---can't wait for your new pics!!!

shelbyla 01-23-2012 09:03 AM

I'm gonna be living vicariously through you guys until Saturday! LDD is Wednesday, two VLCD Thursday and Friday, then P3 on Saturday. Oh glorious P3! How I have missed you!

Moon - Sorry you're struggling. One thing that was really helpful for me was to balance my fat and my protein grams. Have you tried that approach? It's kind of a PITA because you have to log everything but after a while it becomes second nature.

Tricialy 01-23-2012 10:22 AM

Moon - I second what Shelby said about the balancing act - she helped me on my last P3 and I don't think I had a correction day after that if I stayed in balance or close to it - I think I had 3 CDs in the first 8 days of that P3.

Sunny - .4 - that might not even be a real "weight" gain - but the added weight from the additional food you're eating on P3 - that's awesome!

You guys rock! I'm already lurking - and looking forward to Friday. It was so fun going to the grocery and buying fun food again. I missed those containers of Fage and cartons of eggs!

BaileysGirl 01-23-2012 10:40 AM

I'm staring P3 tomorrow! :jumpjoy::jumpjoy:

I logged my calories for about the first 2 or 3 days on the last P3. I only had to do 1 true CD and it was b/c AF came to visit. The rest of the time I stayed either AT or 1-2 above LDW. NEVER UNDER! Even traveled out of town for holidays, got home and was at LDW!

My new BMR 2098.

Tomorrow's menu:

B - 3 scrambled eggs w/ cheese & 2 sausage patties from cafe at work, sf capp w/ hwc & sf caramel syrup
L - huge salad from deli w/ tomatoes, avocados, bacon, blue cheese w/ ranch dressing
S - apple w/ 2 t sf syrup & 2 pecans chopped over
D - tuna salad w/ dukes mayo, dill relish & hb egg on sherris savory bun
S - strawberries or peaches w/ hwc

Trying to think of something else to add in...don't think I'm quite at 2100 cals but need to go log and see...I may try to make a mini pizza out of the savory bun w/ pepperoni, onions, olives, jalapenos & cheese! :yummy:

Guess I need to get to printing out all those recipes I've found and put them to good use!

Sunny7 01-23-2012 11:21 AM

BaileysGirl, what is the savory bun that you use

Remember that for the savory bun recipe you should leave out the CarbQuick/Atkins mix until P4... :)

BaileysGirl 01-23-2012 03:20 PM

Yes! Shelby - I am making them right now using almond flour, correct instead of carbquick.

Here's the recipe. I have a 2 square waffle iron so I had to put about 2 - 3tablespoons of the batter into each square waffle section versus the 1 listed below. Maybe b/c of the almond flour it's a bit thicker. Also Shelby the buttermilk has carbs but is that fine?

SHERRIE'S SAVORY BURGER BUN

*Preheat the waffle iron

1 8oz pkg cream cheese
3 eggs
3 tsp Splenda
1/2 cup Atkins Bake Mix
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp parsley flakes
1/4 cup buttermilk

Beat cream cheese with mixer until blended smooth, add the remaining ingredients. Spray round waffle iron with a light coat of olive oil flavored non stick spray and pour in about 1 tbps of mix. It will make a perfect round bun! You can freeze them and reheat them in the toaster! It should come out to about 1 carb per bun! Nutiritional Info Via ****** Calories Total: 72, Fat: 6 70% , Sat: 3 39% , Poly: 0 5%, Mono: 2 20%, Carbs: 1.2 6%, Fiber: .11 0%, Protein: 4 24%

Well apparently this means I need to buy a waffle iron... Great! The ONE appliance that I DIDN'T have! Buttermilk should be fine. I think it's like any other dairy--the carbs are from lactose.

I have not tried balancing the fat and protein grams...I'm definitely going to do that tomorrow. I would love to step off of the seesaw!! Will report back how it goes.

:hyst: You make me LAUGH! I need a new waffle iron myself. Mine is one of those cheapy things that you can switch out the plates to do either grill, waffles or sandwich maker. I would love a nice new waffle iron! Alton Brown did a show last week on waffles! OMG! He of course had some lady in a lab coat dissecting the best waffle iron! Then he made chocolate waffles!

So carbs from lactose don't effect blood sugar levels? I guess I need to do more reading up on all this. I have a couple of Suzanne Somers books on LC and a SB carb counter & probably an Atkins book too! Sheesh...I need to go read! I like stuff in a nutshell like basic should knows...I need someone to give me a list!

I can change my siggy tomorrow from Dreaming b/c it will be a REALITY! WOOT! :sing:

BaileysGirl 01-24-2012 04:34 AM

Morning Day 1 of P3 and weighed in at 189 so 1 pound under my LDW! Heading down to get my breakfast!

B - 2 sauasage patties, 3 scrambled eggs w/ cheese, sweet & spicy tea
L - huge salad w/ avocado, blue cheese, tomatoes, bacon & ranch
D - tuna salad on savory bun, celery w/ blue cheese
S - strawberries w/ hwc

MarieTN 01-24-2012 05:46 AM

I'm still here but struggling a little bit. It's all mental though. I've just got to get my mind focused and back on track.

(can I just say...JEALOUS! ;) )

BaileysGirl 01-24-2012 06:17 AM

Don't be jealous! I felt horrible after eating. I couldn't even eat the last sausage patty! I am still stuffed and feeling icky! Maybe my body is in shock from all the fat! I know they cook those eggs in a ton of oil or butter! Hoping I feel better by lunch!

miamiloca 01-24-2012 06:28 AM

Im around but not posting much! Buried in paperwork!

Majerus 01-24-2012 09:25 AM

:hiya: P3 starts on Thursday for me.

Here's to stablization! :D

bkln77 01-24-2012 07:04 PM

I started my P3 last Sunday the 22nd.

BMR is 1371. Daily calorie needs is 1650.

1st Day of P3, calories @1400, next day weight +1 Lb
2nd @1000, +.2, ate too light lunch and couldn't stuff myself enough at dinner
3rd @1573, excited to see how it's gonna be tomorrow...

Do you guys usually watch net carbs at all? Fruits, onion, milk/sf yogurt, all can add up... My ratio in grams so far is roughly 1:1:2 (carb : fat : protein)

---

BaileysGirl 01-24-2012 07:23 PM

I entered my stuff onto ************ and it said I consumed 41g carbs today, 169g of fat, 104g of protein. I don't know how accurate that is considering I guesstimated on my stuff I entered! I got 1844 in calories but my goal was 2010 so it's close.

I had 3 eggs w/ cheese & 1 sausage patty for breakfast, a huge cobb salad w/ ranch dressing for lunch & homemade lc pizza for dinner. I am so freaking stuffed it's crazy! I think my sodium and cholesterol are off the charts today too. I feel like a fat pig! I don't plan on eating as much tomorrow. More fruits for sure and lighter meals hopefully!

What has always worked for me in the past is balancing fat and protein GRAMS, with a bit of carb thrown in there. I usually end up with around ~100-120g of protein and fats and around 60-80g of carbs. Ends up being about 55% fat, 25% protein, and 20% carbs.

3rd day, +.8 so I'm at exactly +2 lbs... I don't need to do CD yet, do I? Thinking of cutting carb grams and balancing protein and fat, then see if I'm over 2 lbs tomorrow. :stars:

BaileysGirl 01-25-2012 04:48 AM

Well I am day 2 and 1.5 above LDW. My sodium on *** was 4000! I felt like such crap. Today's menu is a bit lighter!

B - 2 egg omelete w/ salsa & sour cream & 3 slices of bacon, hot tea
S - apple w/ few pecans, sf syrup
L - tuna salad made w/ dukes mayo, dill relish, 1 egg, onion on a savory bun, celery sticks w/ blue cheese
S - strawberries w/ hwc
D - chicken broccoli casserole

Nope. Only if you are OVER the 2 pounds. Keep it clean today and drink your water. It will come off--promise!

moonriver 01-25-2012 07:21 AM

Okay! I did my CD, then the next day (yesterday) tried to balance my proteins and fat grams.....and today (drum roll please) stayed exactly the same!:jumpjoy::jumpjoy: Previously I was bouncing up two lbs., correcting down 2 lbs., bouncing up 2, etc. This might just work!!!!

Shelbyla - great advice!!

I have just started using *** so had no idea you could change the nutrient daily goals too! I will probably do this myself!
