I was pretty off protocol today too -- I gave in to hormones and frustration! Too much nut butter, and just too many calories overall. I'll be surprised if I managed maintenance this week

I am bloated as a whale right now, and I feel like one.

The antidepressant did help a ton, though -- I'd been without for a couple of days, and that was no good at all -- so I am feeling human again, and not like I want to pound something valuable into small pieces. It scares me how dependent the body becomes on those darn things (and I am on a low dose, too!)

I'm done with my little break now. It is time to get serious again -- like 500 calories a day serious. I'm going grocery shopping in the morning for meat and veggies, and that (plus one fruit a day, some days) is all I am going to eat for the upcoming week, at least.

I'm sure my metabolism benefited from this upping of the calories and fat ... and now it is time to take advantage of that.

I am definitely staying off the scale until whatever weird hormonal thing this is has passed, and until I have several good diet days under my belt!

Late-night check-in of my favorite rogues! I am sick of loading. I will just eat whatever tomorrow and then start my first VLCD on Sunday. Not sure why I chose Sunday, but I should just start tomorrow. Still have too much food from Atkins. I guess I'll bless my mother with some of it on Sunday. (She never has room in her refrigerator or freezer though.)

So, have pleasant dreams tonight, get lots of rest (or not, if you are going somewhere fun) and I'll be back to check on you all again tomorrow.

Oh, Trisha and Star-- I hear you ladies about the peanut butter -- yummy evil stuff!!!

It definitely got the better of me today, along with its nasty little cousin almond butter.

I am not too happy with the way I've eaten this past week, and I am worried that I am gaining real fat, and not just bloat ... so it is definitely time to get my act together starting tomorrow.

I know I can do this -- and I just need to do it.

Got a new low on the scale (and yes, with the new batteries).

124.6 - .6 into virgin weight. I know it's not much to celebrate to you ladies dropping half a pound a day... but it's big to me! Waist was even down another 1/4 inch...now at 29.75, and belly had dropped down to 36.5. That's a full inch and 1/2 below my hips measurement, so I've got some good reshaping slowly happening on that nasty belly flap. I'll be fitting those levi 8s before I know it! My Gloria Vanderbilt 6 cords are getting loose and my old navy 8s too.

I love the one week of the month where I am not bloated!

Sending strength out to everyone finishing their P2 rounds...it's tough!

I am still quite bloated too. I know that is from the chips the other night, but also ovulation is kicking my rear this week. I feel like I am carrying 5lbs of water in my abdomen. UGH!! I hate feeling this way.

Didn't get in the scale b/c I know I would up several pounds. Stayed on plan yesterday and am going to stick to plan. Need to drink a lot of water to get this bloat GONE!!

Off to cheerleading games. Have a great Saturday!

ahhhhhhh.... fresh donuts in the house! ACK! I designed a small sign for my aunt and she just sent over fresh donuts from a little bakery in town as a "thank you." I sure wish I didn't love sugar so much and I could say that they didn't even appeal to me... but I want one so bad!

Down about a half pound today. Today is going to be a rough day all around. We have dinner plans with some friends (originally I was supposed to be on P3 today). Not sure how that is going to work out... have no idea what I'll be eating.

Paula- yay for new lows on the scale! I love it when clothes start to get loose

My 1st day of P3 and DH took me out and I ate some not so great things for me. Up a full lb We went to a fancy place that we don't go to very often where they serve you a 5 course meal!
I had a few bites of awesome minestrone soup and the lobster tail I ordered came BREADED!!! I picked most of it off but did get a few bites. The steak was to DIE for...sooooo good I ate the full 6 ounces !! I also had a few black olives so I am sure some of this is sodium. I also had a few bites of his lime sorbet so sugar.
Today I am strick protocol. P2 foods plus greek yogurt. Planned calories for today come in at about 1350 which is good for my height. I might see if I can get it up to 1600 once I add nuts and fruit back in to see if I can maintain that high.

This round has been SUCH a struggle!! I am trying not to beat myself up so much about this 1lb. I will just drink a lot of water and see what I can do to drop it on the scale. I also worked out hard all week lifting weights so the odds have been stacked against me. Today is a yoga day so that shouldn't cause the scale to jump.

Have a great weekend everyone!! Sorry didin't have a chance to catch up on all the post yet,I will be back later today

One pound for your first meal out sounds like you did really, really well. Rest. foods always give me a gain...I guess from the sodium cause I try to choose lowcarb foods.

I think winter rounds are definitely harder than summertime...metabolisms are not ticking over so smoothly. I sure miss summertime swims and activities! We have had lots of rain lately (excellent since our lake is 10 feet below normal). But it's sure dull!

Fun fact...I'm about to weigh less than my teenage boy. It's about time! He's at least 4 inches taller than me now...And all muscle (even as a toddler he was a muscly little thing). I tried on his jeans the other day (shhh, don't tell him) and they fit me.

This is so cute Paula, (great job too). I remember when I got to my all time low May last year... I did the same thing. My son is like 5'7 or something, and he is a beam pole (wears his jeans a little loose, but not falling off type of loose) and i tried them on then and they fit, and i was so excited I took a picture of it!!

Congrats!!

Hey, I'm new to hHCG. I actually tried to start 2 weeks ago and the product I ordered had been changed to where it had no hcg (they didn't bother changing the name though) so after a week of starving myself...once I figured out what happened....I ordered from another company and started again a few days ago. This is VLCD2 for me.

I think being "rogue" interests me especially from the vegetable standpoint. I'm going to be totally sick of lettuce as that's about the only vegetable I like on protocol. I've read a lot of your threads but am curious as to what exactly makes you "rogue"?

Thanks for your help!

Kim

Paula that is amazing!!!! I knew even with the dead battery your weight was right Congrats.
My daughter is 5 so the idea of fitting into her clothing anytime soon is not happening for me, haha But she is a tall girl, not sure where she gets that from. She is the tallest girl in her class and she is taller than most of the boys.

LOL, when my kids were that age I was planning on losing as much weight as they both weighed at the time. Can't happen now...he's 120 she's close to 70! Though I am down 108 from my alltime high.

No, not planning on ever fitting her jeans. She's a 10 slim (think it's a 23 inch waist plus ultra teeny booty)! Son's jeans were old navy's 30x32...mostly relaxed fits! Plus even when I was 95 pounds I had a 26 inch waist...

My DH is over six feet but neither kid seems to have his tall genes. It's hard to say with DS...he may reach full growth soon. Boys are hard to guess. He's always been in the lowest quartile for height. DD will definitely be taller than me, but probably not by a lot. She's 12 and about 4 inches shorter than me... I know I was that size when I started junior high....too short to ride bumper cars without my big sis.

Thanks for all the congrats guys...I have to celebrate these little wins as they come. I am down 10 pounds for the last 6 months...wish it was faster but it *is* progress.

PB is deadly! I have had times when it was the trigger food of choice.

I would KILL for VFT these days. So proud of you, Paula! You've made it! You are such a faithful measurer. I used to measure and track that stuff in a notepad but I just got out of the habit. When I'm in VFT, I will remeasure and compare to the last set of measurements.

It's a good idea to steer clear of the scale when you're feeling like that! Bloat does indeed suck.

I had that happen to me once! I was on Atkins and my neighbor was also on Atkins. He was given a bunch of donuts and he brought them over to give to me, saying that if I didn't take them, he was going to throw them out. Did I tell him to throw them away? No! I didn't want to take them but I did. You can guess the rest of the story. Get those suckers out of your house before you do something you'll regret! Then tell the gifter how yummy they were.

Be strong when out at that dinner. And WTG on the 1/2 lb drop!

Hopefully you won't gain anymore from today and maybe even lose a bit of that gain by tomorrow's weigh-in. That weight lifting is bound to mess with your scale numbers, too. Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous P3! May you be stable and happy eating Atkins foods.

I find it the easiest during the late winter months, just before Spring (ie NOW) to lose weight. I always do my best when the days are getting longer and Spring is getting nearer. Hope is high this time of year (well, on a good day it is) and I can focus more clearly on the task at hand. Many fewer pitfalls like parties, picnics (obviously), etc.

So glad you are getting the rain you were so thirsty for all year! It is depressing when it is too constant but try to remember how much it was needed. Maybe this year crops will grow.

That's so cool about your DS's pants fitting you.

Kim! That particular problem with hcg not being hcg has happened to lots of people. It's terrible that they try to pull that on folks. It's got to be intentional on the part of advertising. Did you load on the new (real) hcg when it came or just keep going from where you were already at on the plan? How's the hunger now?

As far as veggie rogueness, I've done well with eating broccoli (steamed, salted and with I can't believe it's not butter spray.) I buy those steamer bags and it's a great way to steam your veggies.

Anything you do that is contrary to Simeon's strict protocol makes you a rogue, so the answers to your question are limitless. My first round I followed the Omaha Weight Loss plan and lost well, but the last attempt (didn't go the complete round) was going super-well just eating chicken and broccoli. I got really tired of eating just those things after a couple of weeks. (I was eating organic chicken which I think made a difference. Plus the weight I was dropping was regained weight.)

Hope you stick around with us!

If you fit into her clothes, I'm calling 911!

I'm on my last loading day. I am tapering off and my tummy has a flat, somewhat empty feeling. No hunger and that makes me . I have high-hopes for this P2 round. I hope to be solidly in the 150's for P3, which will start in the beginning of March. I'll do a full 3 weeks of P3 and then another round of P2. Hopefully that will get me to my goal weight of 140 by May 1.

Can I do it? I'm about to find out! Ladies, I'm going to need your help. I am bound to be going through some emotions and digging up old buried issues as I peal back the layers. Not only that, but the toxins that are released from the fat cells as they are emptied. I'm liable to be a mess. Please help me to get through it!

I know it's going to be a struggle of a lifetime, but I'm worth it, and it is high-time.

Most of us eat a wider variety of veggies and mix them as well. Cooking oils, H/H in coffee, added protein (either bigger portions or eggs at breakfast). Using regular lotions. My calories add up to about 700 per day instead of 500, for example.
Some of us on this thread are doing other eating plans like Eat Fat Get Thin or Atkins and not hcg. It's just a fun place to hang out!

Hello fellow roguers! I did 4 days back to protocol and did well. But I am having so many tummy troubles, and I suspect it's wheat/starch related? I began having problems with microwave popcorn, so I stopped that. Then it was the Melbas(or saltines). Last night I had some corn chips (ok, I cheated) and my stomach felt awful. So, today I'm back to fat fasting and began my probiotics again because I felt so good on the last fat fast. Staying off the scale and don't know how long I'll go. I also want to get into working out again so I'm wanting the extra calories and clear head. This round is just a huge mess! But, at least I am still down 13 pounds in 3 weeks, so not terrible.

Cheryl, good luck on this round! You can do it!
Paula, congrats on the loss! I love that loose pants feeling!
Agent, loving the P3 dinner! Sounds like you still kept it controlled and I wouldn't stress about that 1 lb! It will come right back off, I'm sure.
Stacey, BLOATING SUCKS! Ha!
Mini, at least you enjoyed the past few days (NUT BUTTERS!) You will find your groove soon, you are so good at it!
And HUGS to everyone else I missed and here's to scale victories tomorrow!

Morning, all!

I'm feeling a bit better -- the monster bloat in the belly went down quite a bit, though I am still retaining a lot of water all over. Still staying far away from the scale -- and feeling pretty despondent about the whole physical body aspect of things this morning.

Sounds like a lot of us are fighting that sort of thing right now -- it is NO fun!

I'm back on my normal rogue p2 today, meaning meat, veggies, and a little fruit (max of two low-glycemic fruits a day -- though I won't do that every day). I am not cutting out fat altogether but I am keeping it low --

I'll aim for 500-700 calories a day. I am not much looking forward to this, but I will do what I have to do -- and the super-high-fat was starting to backfire on me... I suspect I need protein right now.

We will see what the scale has to say in a few days -- when I am brave enough to face it.

Riley -- grains and I don't get along well, in even the best of circumstances. Hope you feel better after you cut them out!

I am banishing all nut butters and other easy-overeat foods for the time being -- that's part of why I am going back to basics.

I will use coconut oil in small quantities -- but that's the only non-meat/egg fat that I'll be doing for a while ...

I think my body needs protein right now, and I intend to give it that -- and veggies, and a bit of fruit -- and not much else for a bit. I think this will help me get back on my game.

Some of us on this thread are doing other eating plans like Eat Fat Get Thin or Atkins and not hcg. It's just a fun place to hang out!
Very good answer to her question. I took the easy way out and said there were too many answers to that question! But this was very good and concise.

I think wheat is just as bad as pure sugar for some of us. The last round I attempted didn't include any grain at all and almost no fruit (most days I ate none) and the weight was really coming off well. I'm going to model this round after that last one and just ride it out when it gets boring. I'm going to try and stick to organic chicken and stuff like last time, too.

Sounds like a plan, Zoe. We're in this together!

Cheryl and Mini-
I agree, I am just going to have to bite the bullet and eliminate 100%. I have always been able to consume before so not sure what the change is, but I'm okay with it. Eating anything wheat related leads to BINGE anyway and the tummy troubles are getting old.
Just ordered some great books for my Nook, Mark Sisson, Gary Taubes, and another about the politics of obesity - excited to find time to read these. I started Gary Taubes and loving it so far.
And peanut butter also = no good for hcg'ing. I always crave it the most.

Erin, did you get "Good Calories, Bad Calories" on your nook? That book is enormous! I hope you have room for more! It's probably for the best that you leave wheat alone; at least during your P2. Maybe when you get to P4 you can slide a few wheat things back into your diet.

Cheryl -- we'll be here for support as you go through the process of losing the last of your weight -- it's an interesting mental as well as physical journey.

Nola and I are having a rather intriguing discussion over on the exercise thread about all the emotions involved in getting there... you might want to take a peek at it.

Today is going fine, so far -- I'm about to head out the door to do some photographs of my sculptures, for the upcoming catalog submission -- and then grocery shopping for p2 basics.

I am seriously thinking about ordering the non-homeopathic drops... but I will do this for a week first and see where it lands me.

I don't want to shell out money for something that won't help in the long run... we'll see... it might be just the kick I need, if this doesn't work.

At the very least I am tempted to give it a try....

WOE: Stillmans AGAIN!
Start Date: Many times..... currently 03/13/13
Yesterday and today have been P2 with a few added fats (not much) calories are around 800 - I dropped .4 today. Not much but hey - I am not gonna fuss!

I noticed when I keep the calories at 800 or so and then fat at 30-35 grams I lose better. We will see - it could just be a fluke. I am really ready though to move on to P3! At least I am not alone!!

I also noticed I am not alone with my pb and almond butter issues! I have the hardest time - pb is a major trigger food!

I have not had any this whole round but I have has right at a tb of almond butter (fresh ground) from Sprouts several times.

Mini - even though I am really watching calories again while off of FF I am considering keeping my CO for now. I really need that boost it seems to give plus I would love to kill off any bacteria, etc.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday!

Trisha - I hope you avoided those evil donuts!

Everyone else - I will check back in a little later!

I got "Why We Get Fat"-heard it was a much easier-to-read version. But after reading this, I am considering getting "Good Calories, Bad Calories" too. Might be a fun challenge.

I didn't know there was non-homeopathic OTC hcg. Is it much more money than hhcg?

Thanks, cutie. I'll check it out. I've been doing some soul searching today. (Journal.)

It's a very "heavy" book. You probably got the meat of it in the book you bought. I'd offer to try + share but my book is a hard-cover, not Kindle.
