Breaking Lurker mode again:
I heard from Dana Carpendar that she tried HCG and found that she did better doing the Fat Fast on HCG than the standard Simeons Diet. Ihaven't seen any follow up on that idea. Has any one decided to use Fat Fast Menu and Percentages as their main P2 menu for a whole round, or are most of you using the standard Simeon's menu or some rouge plan and using the Fat Fast for Slow Days in P2. |

Well, today was Fat Fast Day #2, and I ate the same things as yesterday:
B: 2 oz cream cheese 1/4 cup heavy cream in coffee L: 1 oz tuna w/2 tsp mayo & 1/4 avocado 1 oz macadamia nuts D: 2 egg yolks, 1 Tbsp mayo (this is 5 servings of 200 cal each, 90% fat). Drinking a ton of fluid today. This is a big difference--I had to force myself to keep drinking on the VLCD but I'm thirsty and drinking a lot of water on this fat fast. I'm hoping that's a good sign for weight loss. Still taking my hCG, and I have no clue where I'm heading! If I can stick this out for a total of 4 or 5 days, and at least get past 126.6 (last round's LDW), I think I'll be happy and either do a couple of days of VLCD or move to P3. I'm winging it here, and its terrifying and exhilirating at the same time. ![]() Now I must go to sleep and see what the magic scale says tomorrow. That darn $20 scale rules my life.![]()

Metga -- I read that about Dana Carpender, too (that was after I discovered that this worked very well for me) -- and C'Marie, yes, there was a thread devoted to EFGT meals with HCG, mostly the journeys of a guy who goes by the name Fozzie. That thread seems to have died for the most part, but I was following it for a while.
I do a lot of fat fasts as my p2 menu -- they do stop being as effective after a while, but it isn't a bad way to eat. |

Good morning ladies - no movement on the scale today but I kind of expected it might slow a little since I have been losing right at a pound a day. Body has to catch up I guess
![]() Last fat fast day for this week - copying Garnet's menu yesterday (hope you don't mind After today I am going back to VLCD rogue probably until Sunday and that will be my last day of drops (right now). I get so wishy washy on that decision. But, by Tuesday - last day of P2 w/o drops - I will have gone 30 days and that is more than I ever set out to do. I will probably just take the weight I am there and call it. I am, however, going to buy some pellets to keep in stock and may jump back in this summer some time. Just to get to that one low I have been dreaming of - 135 - that number gives me plenty of wiggle room. Measured today - down 2 inches in my thighs - I can really tell with them and down 1 inch with my arms since starting! Clothes are super duper loose and that was one of my main goals. Not wanting to buy more clothes but truly SICK of feeling like a "stuffed sausage" in my current ones! |

Well, now starts my decent into the slippery world of P3! I was up 6 oz today already. I pretty much did the fat fast yesterday but had a salad with grilled chicken and some homemade greek dressing on it so I'm not really sure where the gain came from other than the fact that this is exactly what happened to me the first day of my last P3.
I am going to start Leptin but just couldn't stomach doing it this morning--it's SO much food anyway but put that on top of coming from not eating breakfast for a month and I was scared I would literally get sick. Plus I didn't have the supplies to start today. Guess I'll start tomorrow. Hope everyone else is having a great day!

Okay, so what I gather is that you all are following a P2 plan with sessions of Fat Fasting for a few days at a time and then back to your P2 plan, but no one is doing the entire 23 day round of P2 as either a Fat Fast or even a EFGT( High Fat 65%) plan? Fozzie did that, but he also had a higher calorie limit, as he's a big fella. and Dana Carpendar hadn't said whether she did her whole round of P2 as fat fast or what. I'd considered doing Fozzies HCG EFGT plan for myself, and stumbled upon this thread and found it interesting. 90% is a far cry from 65% that's why I was confused if it were a full round of Fat Fast or just a jumpstart or stall buster. Thanks for the details, I'll be lurking and reading and making up my mind hopefully sooner than later! ![]()

Yesterday was my first day of P2 after the fat fast and I had approx. 1.5 pound loss. SO glad that it didn't cause a stall. Tomorrow will be another day of course, but going to stay off the scale for a while. It causes me too much mental anguish. I can see the physical changes and that is good enough for now.

I'm still hanging with the mostly fat fast menu for now -- I may shift gears next week, after TOM, but for now this remains my WOE -- I'm coming in at around 1200 calories of mostly fat, and am just aiming to maintain throughout TOM.
Hoping to hit the losing again next week. I am tired of being just a few lbs above goal -- hmph! |

I see a lot of people eating cream cheese or heavy cream whipped. I don't know that I can stomach cream cheese alone, do you just eat it with a spoon?

Fascinating thread here! I'm no longer in P2. I've been in maintenance since November, but I used the fat fast for three days during my last P2 round and had great results. I can't recall exactly what I lost during those 3 days, but I'm thinking it was around 4 pounds...and this was in week 3, where my losses typically SLOOOOWWWW down big time. During my research before I embarked on the fat fast, I read somewhere (wish I could remember where but I can't) that it is wise to have a few clean VLCDs after the fat fast before transitioning to P3. If I come up with the post, I'll link it here.
I also tried the fat fast for the first time this week as a correction day and dropped 4 pounds overnight. Granted I had splurged a little over the previous weekend and was up from LDW, but I was really pleased with the results. Even better was that I had no rebound weight. I just ate high fat/high protein/low carb the following days, and I've even lost another pound over the last two days since then. Here's what I ate: Meal #1 10 pecans + 2 T of heavy cream in coffee with sweetener and cocoa powder (mocha!) Meal #2 Lemon Truffles (2T Coconut Butter/Manna + 2t. Truvia + 1 t. lemon juice + lemon zest---melted, mixed together, refrigerated until firm...yum!) Meal #3 Peanut Butter Cheesecake Bites (1 ounce cream cheese + 1 T. sugar-free PB + 1T heavy cream + sweetener, refrigerated until firm) Meal #4 1 ounce of macadamia nuts Meal #5 1 Avocado with 2 T. blue cheese dressing Meal #6 1 ounce macadamia nuts I drank a ton of water, some coffee and 2 c. of green tea throughout the day. I'm doing a little experiment alternating clean eating with various correction days to see if I can get to 5 pounds BELOW my LDW, so I'm going to try the fat fast one day per week. Lemon truffles sound AWESOME, but what is coconut butter? I don't think I have ever seen it. Sounds really delicious! Thanks for the ideas! I think I'm doing another fat fast next week sometime. |

I like whipping the cream cheese with whipping cream, vanilla and sweetner (or cocoa, vanilla and sweetener!), it makes it like a cheesecake mousse. which is what I plan to eat a lot of this coming weekend!
maybe I'll start tomorrow. haven't decided yet. |

yeah, I let it come up to room temperature, and beat it by itself for a little while. actually, that's when I'd add the sweetener and flavouring. THEN the cream, then beat it until it's like a (delicious) mousse.

Thanks, RileyWorm! I have copied your cream cheese muffin recipe for a treat on my upcoming P3.

So....I'm down into virgin territory today! I weighed 126.0 this am (last LDW was 126.6), down 1.6 from yesterday. But I can't diet anymore. Today I felt very, very tired. I only have six more pounds until goal weight (but who knows, the actual goal weight may be lower depending upon how much is still on my thighs), but I just can't diet anymore. Today is D#3 of Fat Fast--I was hoping to do more, but I need to get to P3 (or at least an interruption) and eat more calories. Good luck, everyone, and thanks for being here! |

Oh, and I actually can purchase the Artisana brand at my local health food store and in our local grocery store in the health food section. It's slightly more expensive than the ones online, but you don't have to pay shipping! Congrats on the virgin territory, Garnet! It sounds like you have a great plan for transitioning into P3, so I wouldn't worry about it. I very much remember that feeling of not being able to do P2 for one. more. meal. I think that's when we know it's time to move on. Hope you have good results with the fat fast and have a smooth transition! Last edited by lemonmama; 01-26-2012 at 05:58 PM.. |

I'm planning a high fat/fat fast day on Saturday.
I'm on round 5 of hcg, and in all my previous rounds I've reached a point where I crave fat in an unbelievable way. I'm hoping one high fat day per week will help mitigate this effect. Planned for saturday: (throughout the course of the day) 7oz coconut butter, 1 oz macadamia nuts. I'll update how it went on Sunday! |

Somewhat, good luck with your fat fast! I loved the results -physically and mentally!
Lemon - I will have to search out this coconut butter. But my grocery stores suck...is it possible to sub coconut oil? Happy fat fasting out there ! |

Erin--I'm not sure if it would taste the same with coconut oil, but you could try it. I think the manna is what gives it the "truffle-like" texture.

OMg, that lemon truffle sounds divine. Coconut manna is amazingly delicious stuff!
I could pretty much live on coconut products alone.. and some days, I do! |
