down.8 today.
Not as huge as I wanted but giving it a go one more day of the fat fast then stopping my pellets tomorrow and doing 2 days of protocol before starting P3 on Friday. DH and I have a date that night so it will be nice to be able to have a bit more variety to chose from at dinner.

Yesterday
B 3 eggs in coconut oil
HWC
L 4oz chicken with skin 3 oz cheese peanut butter 2tablespoons right off the spoon.
D whipped cream cheese with cocoa crack...not sure how much, lets just say...a lot of cream cheese

And I started lifting weights yesterday so maybe I would have lost more if I didn't....
Today my plan is
B 2 eggs in coconut oil
H and H
L peanut butter and HWC
D cream cheese and mac nuts

Down .6 today - not exactly the giant whoosh I had hoped for but I really am NOT complaining!!!!!

Last week it too me 6 days - yes 6 days to lose .6!!!

Since adding in fat last Thursday I have dropped over 4 pounds!

Today has to be a VLCD not a Fat fast because I have a social engagement.

But, unless something crazy happens I will definitely do fat fast on Wednesday and Thursday.

This is day 23 for me and my goal for this round is to at least get to 140 - though 138 would be nice. Trying to decide when to call it a round. We shall see!

Melanie - I gotta say CONGRATS!!! 4 pounds is awesome! Maybe if I do a Fat fast without the Greek Yogurt this time I will yield that much

Thanks for sharing what you ate!

Totals for me yesterday were:

1090 cals
78% fat
13% carbs
9% protein

So, maybe the more fat less carb - thus eliminating GY for FF would yield more!

Agentventi - Congrats to you too!!! Onward Fat fasters - get ready for that date with hubby!!!

So my first day of fat fasting yielded a 4 pound drop on the scale. Of course it's mainly water but I'll claim it! I was up 7 from a weekend in Chicago! I didn't count calories so who knows where I came in but for breakfast I had coffee with HWC. Probably 3 cups. Lunch was tuna salad and dinner was 2 slices of bacon and 2 eggs and coffee with coconut oil and HWC! I also ran 3 miles. I'm going to keep this up for a couple more days, maybe till Friday, to see if I can get the rest of my gain off.
And the winner is.... MELANIE! WTG! Water or not, it's weight! I was hoping for something similar, but alas.

My stats for my first fat fast day went like this:

Cal: 1093
Fat: 81%
Carb: 3%
Pro: 16%

Total weight lost: 1.6 lbs.

Considering that I'd already been eating tons of fat on my Atkins '72 plan, I think this loss could have been achieved by just stopping the nut feeding frenzy I've experienced over the weekend. That was my whole problem. Nuts and Restoril.

So, today it's back to good ol' Atkins. I woke early and was hungry so ate a bowl of my delishious soup and I'm sipping my first cup of coffee with cream. Life is good.

PS: What I ate yesterday was all stuff I eat on a regular Atkins day, but the only difference is I measured the cream in my coffee and tracked what I ate and drank on ******. I don't miss ****** one little bit, so I'm going back to what I had been doing. Not tracking!

Edited to add that if I do get stuck on this plan, I will do a fat fast again and try to get it as close to 100% as I can. I can just see myself eating Mayo off a spoon and licking butter from the stick now.

Gotta remember I'm coming off a 3 day cheat weekend that yielded a 7 pound gain guys! It's almost like loading weight. Comes off so fast at first! I do lose well with fat fasts though. I'm lucky like that!

Cheryl, I can't keep total track of everything I eat like some people do. I wish I had the dicipline but I don't and then I stress over it and stress isn't good when you are trying to lose weight.

Speaking of stress, I just joined this gym that's not a gym. It's supposed to be a community center with lots of things but I'm going for the gym. Anyway, it has an indoor water park that I know the kids will just want to live at. I've gotta find a bathing suit stat! I weigh 20 pounds less than I did last summer when I wore it and it was big then! Ugh, hate bathing suit shopping!

Happy bathing suit shopping! I like one-pieces. I think they are sexy and comfortable. I like the kind that has the sporty criss-cross design on the upper back so nothing gets exposed if you dive.

I gained over the weekend, too. I ate NUTS. I gained 1.4 lbs. So, only 0.2 that I lost today was "new". Anyway, I have many threads to keep up with so I'm going to unsubscribe over here for now. I'll come back when I do another fat fast day.

Good luck, ladies (and gents)!

Bought a new scale and weighed today, since January 2nd I have lost 9 pounds and made my goal of 135 for the week! I so needed that encouragment and motivation to keep going! I feel so much better knowing all my hard work is paying off!

Next weigh in will be Friday! Come on 134!!!!

Do a lot of people have trouble with coconut oil?

NicoleT what kind of full fat greek yogurt do you buy? I must have spent thirty minutes in the yogurt section at HEB and at the time I was looking at carbs and couldn't find one yogurt with less then 10 carbs per cup! I would love to have another breakfast option then eggs, I am so over EGGS!

Melanie, it really is that easy to make. I was scared of it at first. Mind, I bought a yogurt machine, which was only 50.00... but if you dont have one, the only harder part is the heating to 110 farenheit for a specific period of time, (hours). Otherwise, to make it, you simply heat the milk or milk and cream, until boiling, boil for 1 or 2 minutes, cool the milk to 110 and then add either 1 6 oz carton of plain yogurt for starter or I use the yogurt starter freeze dried and then keep it at 110 for 7 hours for whole milk (you go longer for each less fat milk after that, like fat free milk is like 10 hours) and then you put in the fridge. After it sets in the fridge for a couple hours, I put a plate with paper towels and turn the jars on their side with lids opened and it drains all the whey... I do this for about 24 hours, maybe less... some people just put in a strainer with paper towels, but I read about this way and liked it. and its super thick and creamy! I love the machine as it keeps it the right temp, but otherwise I think you use canning jars on the stove to keep it the right temp...

Last night I felt so weak I went overboard and started eating fats. This am I was back to 129.8 where I spent 7 days at last week. So I started the Fat Fast today:
B: 2 oz cream cheese
S: 1/4 cup heavy cream in coffee
L: 1 oz tuna w/2 tsp mayo & 1/4 avocado
S: 1 oz macadamia nuts
D: 2 hard boiled egg yolks, 2 tsp mayo

I truly hope this works for me!

Thanks, I might just have to try that this weekend! I can't seem to find full fat yogurt anywhere right now. I was able to get it at one store not too far from me but lately the shelf is always empty!

What I hate, is Fage lowered their fat... It used to be like 23 gram for a cup, and now its like 11!! Thats what prompted me to try it. I usually make mine with organice whole milk 32 oz and 10 oz of heavy cream, but you could add more heavy cream and less milk for even higher fat....I saw the machines at bed bath and beyond and william and sonoma too..

Ok ladies...I do believe I'm calling 162 today! I told myself this morning before I got on the scale that if I was still 162 (would make three days of being at that weight except for a small 2 oz loss yesterday), I would call the end of P2. If I had lost from the fat fast today, I was going to keep going.

Well, I was 162 again. One of the reasons I want to stop even though I'm not to 160 is that I have been at 162 for three days and I feel like there's a lot more chance of me stabilizing at that weight as opposed to maybe getting down to 160 in a few days and calling it at that weight but then bouncing back up because I wasn't there for a few days. I'm also wondering if the fat fast isn't causing me to lose since I may be at my ideal weight???

I also have a few functions that I have to go to this weekend and it'll be A LOT easier to be on P3 for them rather than P2 or even the fat fast.

So here's to the start of the transition to P3! I'm a bit nervous about doing the fat fast without the pellets for the next 2 days...do you think I'll gain?? I guess if I didn't gain while doing it WITH the hcg in my body, I probably wont gain without it

I read some great recipe for fat fast. Since you are so limited this was exciting. Im starting this tomorrow I think!

Cream cheese with crushed macadamia nuts spread on turkey slice w/ side of avacado.

Sounds good!

Can anyone give me some ideas of what I can do with coconut oil while on fat fast and atkins?

if you have never taken coconut oil before, you really shouldn't just jump into eating. all the advice i have read says to start slow...like 1 tsp per day and work your way up. believe me, it's NOT fun if you jump right into eating it a tablespoon or 3 at a time. if you drink coffee, you can put a tsp in your coffee. just stir it with a spoon right before taking a sip. this is the only way i can eat it. i hate the taste of coconut oil.

I guess I am one of the blessed few who can eat coconut oil without any problems whatsoever --thankful for that!

I had a big jump up on the scale, and thinking that almost certainly has to be hormonal -- my face is a broken out mess, and having other TOM stuff going on, too.

I am not going to freak -- just ride it out, and shoot for roughly maintenance cals until it is over -- but I really don't need this right now... terrible, stressful week for me, and this just makes it worse.

I do think I will take a few days off dosing until this is over.

coconut oil can cause candida to die off, so that can upset your guts too.

I have to figure out a way I can feasibly do a FF tomorrow! it's not so easy at work. otherwise, I'll try to do one on friday, unless I get called in.

Can you just take some tuna salad, macadamia nuts or already cooked bacon and some heavy cream for coffee? I actually think the fat fast is easy to do--even on the run

hello fellow fat fasters!
Day 2 down, no visible loss on the scale (but again, my scale SUCKS! so may have lost a few ounces, who knows) but my "fat" jeans (which are my old "skinny" jeans) fit again, and boy are they loose! I had to suck these babies on after the holidays so what a relief it is to not see anything spilling over anymore! Ha!
I had:
B
1 egg- 1tbsp mayo = 190
1 muffin - 115 (305 tot)
L
Same as breakfast. (305 tot)
D-
2 eggs, 1/2 tbsp mayo, 1/2 tbsp of butter = 280
1 muffin = 115 (395 tot)
1005 for the day.

Today's menu:
2 eggs, 1 tbsp mayo=280
1 muffin = 115 (395)
L
2 muffins, 1 tbsp pb=(360)

Dinner will be two eggs with a bit of butter, since I have about 280 calories left.

Today is my last day for this go-round. Back to protocol (my rogue way, of course!) and will do another fat fast, probably Sunday, Monday, Tuesday again. Even if I don't lose more tomorrow it was well worth the physical and mental boost I got. No more foggy brain and I feel like I could actually do a serious workout for the first time in weeks!

Congrats to all of you who lost, and even if you didn't I hope you had fun with it! I know I sure did!

It sounds like you are in great shape for stabilization--your weight has been real stable and I think that's ideal. I hope it goes well for you!

I'm grateful you started this thread, because I was really at my wit's end with overwhelming fatigue, complete weight stall, and the day I started to feel a bit dizzy I found this thread. I'm following the instructions for Atkins' Fat Fast, and although I feel like I'm eating very little (especially when the food tastes better because of fat, it feels like so little!!), but I'm starting to feel better today, and less freezing.

It feels weird to be continuing hCG while doing this--I'm worried about the scale tomorrow but if this doesn't work I can just jump right back into the VLCD.

Oh! And to those of you talking about making your own yogurt: I am SO doing that when I start P3! This guy I work with raises goats so I am going to get fatty, creamy goat's milk. I am so excited! And, I got farm-fresh eggs today from a lady I work with, so those will be for dinner tonight! The egg shells are light green, they are so cute!

I did not like the coconut oil that smells and tastes like coconut oil, but I use the expelled version, organic and it does not smell or taste like coconut oil at all!! I can do that one!

This is why I did it. I had some serious brain fog and I had so much difficulty concentrating, at work and at school. And, I was stalling too, due to a few cheats (ah!). The food seemed like a little at first but by the third day I am getting stuffed. I'm not even hungry for lunch today but eating anyway. Good luck to you, fingers crossed for a scale drop!!

gastric distress. diarrhea, cramping. it's a fabulous oil, but not one to just jump into eating tons of.

i have been taking it regularly to help with what i thought was yeast overgrowth in my gut. nothing was really changing as far as the discomfort i was having. i didn't take any yesterday and yesterday my gut felt the best it has in a long time. this makes me sad to think that i may not be able to eat it regularly as i simply think it's a fabulously healthy oil.

I guess if I didn't gain while doing it WITH the hcg in my body, I probably wont gain without it
Good luck on P3! Thanks so much for starting this thread! If you do another fat fast let me know! It was fun!

Trisha suggested it to me, so I looked it up and it sounds so easy! And I am craving FULL FAT yogurt since I can't find ANY in the grocery stores here. I am really excited about the goat's milk, I will let you know how it turns out! It won't be for a while since I want to wait until P3 to make it. I can't wait!
