Just wanted to comment on your Avi. I saw Wicked last March in NYC. It was a treat from a niece and her friend and they paid for it for a bunch of us. We took the train into the city and it was my first time just walking the streets of New York. I was into it! The musical was very good, too. Can I ask why you use it for your Avi? Are you just a fan or are you involved with the production in some way?

Oh no! I remember that being a problem for you in the past. I hope it turns out okay for you.

I'm on FF day #1. So far I'm measuring my Light Whipping Cream as I add it to each cup of coffee. (Apparently I add about 1 T when I'm not measuring) and I ate the skin off of one rotisserie chicken (forgot to buy a muffin pan when I was at the store.) Will make Jalapeno Poppers for dinner and call it a night. I'm using ****** to log everything in. I'm estimating my fat percentage will be about 82% and calories will be around 1,000.

Good luck to us all! And let's not hold Mini responsible if it doesn't work for us.
Cheryl I'm not involved with it--I just saw the play! Although the first half was slow, I really enjoyed the performances of the two leads, and the second half was fun. Right now I can't get some of the songs out of my head, so it's kind of where I'm at. I thought it was funny that the saying I'm known for is "No good deed goes unpunished!"

I know! I wish I wouldn't have wasted all my cals on butter, when I could have had the muffins for a sub with basically the same cals and fat cals. Oh well! Today I took away 2 tbsp of the butter/mayo and am eating two cheesecake muffins instead.

The rest of the day/night I am going to eat 1 chicken thigh with skin on and 1 cup of whipped heavy cream (with SF vanilla syrup) for a total of 1090 calories--84.6% from fat, 2.5% from carbs and 12.7% from protein.

Although I REALLY want my yummy full fat greek yogurt again, I don't want the carbs/protein that comes along with it. I'm wondering if that's why I didn't lose that much today. That's why I'm subbing whipped heavy cream for it this evening for "dessert"
I never lose when I eat Greek Yogurt, it always stalls me! When I eat it on hcg I stall and I did Atkins for awhile and couldn't get away with it. Too bad because I LOVE it!

hope you don't mind me lurking on you all's thread....

but, nicole...is your 1 cup of HWC measured before or after whipping?

meaning, do you measure out 1 cup, whip it, then eat it all....OR do you whip up a bunch them measure out a cup of already whipped?

I just wanted to say good luck to all you girls doing your fat fast today and hope you see stellar results in the morning! If not a scale victory, then at least a "I feel better physically and mentally" victory!

Yes, I weighed. I wanted to see the before fat fast weight. It was after 3 days of not weighing and I was proud of myself for being strong and staying off the scale. But, read my siggy. I'm up. So, I can't have nuts in the house as long as I'm taking Restoril for sleep.

I used to have sleep eating episodes really bad when I combined sleeping meds with wine, but it doesn't seem to matter if I drink with them or not. The symptoms escalate greatly when drinking, but they are still there when abstaining. It royally SUCKS.

I only ate the skin because there is little fat in the meat and I figured I needed to concentrate on fat cals for a fat fast day. I put the meat in the refrigerator and I'll eat it when off the fat fast plan. (I'll be back on Atkins '72 on any non-fat-fast day.) I can't seem to get my fat percentage up where I want it to be. It's hard! All the foods that I thought were mainly fat have a fair amount of protein in them. Even chicken skin.

The two leads have amazing voices, don't they? I love the good witch when she's acting like a spoiled brat on that big bed. Very good play! It was my first NYC play but it won't be my last. I can see what all the fuss is about. And taking the train into the city is so convenient.

My favorite line that I can recall is:

"What's in the punch?"
"Lemons and melons and pears."
"Oh, my!"

That's a pretty big loss for me when I'm this close to goal and had just had a 1.2 lb loss two days before (on Thursday).

So I kinda knew that I probably wouldn't have some huge loss today since I had that one pound loss yesterday. The important thing is that I did LOSE and didn't gain while eating yummy and satisfying fat! I am 162 even today and my plan is to do this for 2-3 more days and see where I land. If in 3 days I'm still right around 162, I'm going to just do the two days without pellets and stay on the fat fast and transition into P3. I really think this transition will be so much better for me than what I did last time (going from NO fat to 2,000 calories of high fat in one day and gaining immediately). Since I know my body loves to eat Paleo/Primal, I think if I start off slowly eating like that now and then go into P3 slowly, I'll stabilize.

The other good news was that my body didn't revolt against the full fat greek yogurt last night!!! In my last P3, I had serious issues with yogurt and had to stop eating it. This makes me happier than you could ever know since I'll take that any day over a bowl of ice cream! Especially if it's drizzled with melted coconut oil or coconut butter and melted almond or cashew butter! (I only put 1T of coconut oil on it last night since I didn't want the carbs in the almond butter). I also plan on getting some raw milk yogurt from my Amish farmer to see how I react to that since raw milk doesn't bother me at all--just the pasteurize and homogenized stuff from the store does.

So all in all, a good start to the day--especially when I can have 3 slices of bacon and heavy cream in my coffee
LIKE!

my fast yielded me a NONgain, which I'll gladly take. I'm visibly bloated from PMS. which I keep complaining about, hahahaha! seriously though, this degree of bloat without a gain on the scale blows my mind. my next FF will be much higher in fat.

cheryl, have you looked at all into 5htp yet?

I have but the thing that is holding me back from trying it is drug interactions. I am on so many prescription meds that I'm afraid to take something like that without seeing with my own eyes that there is no interaction. I know I can't take St John's Wart while on a certain antidepressant I'm on, and who would have thought that would be dangerous?

cheryl, I totally get it! st. john's wort is not for everyone, and herbal medicine is still medicine, and can have contraindications.

I just finally called the pharmacy and asked them to check if 5htp and GABA would be contraindicated with my meds and they are both okay!!! So, as soon as I can find a store that sells them, I'm going to pick some up. (They don't carry it. I live in a small town and our stores are sub-par.)

Star, thanks for reminding me about that! I had forgotten to check into it. ((HUGS!!))

Start Date: 12/22/2011
After being on Atkins induction for three weeks and the only cheat was a couple vodka and soda's on two days out of the three weeks, no frankenfood, drinking 96oz of water, my ketostixs were turning, and less then 20g carbs, and NO WEIGHT LOSS so I am trying this fat fast! Something has gotta give. I hope this gets me moving. The only time I had success losing weight was with phentermine, I lost 30lbs and fast!! It was awesome, maybe not healthy but it felt good to be thin! I got back down to my high school weight. I became immune to it and have had to take a break and am trying to do it a healthier way.

What is this coconut oil I keep hearing about? Where can you buy it? Is it sweet?

Also what is cococrack/bark? Sounds good. Can you have it on the Fat Fast?

The menus look really helpful for me to see how to do this Fat Fast so thank you to those who posted them.

Im so frustrated and trying not to give up on the dream of obtaining my weight loss. Thanks to Cheryl for suggeting this thread in another forum!

I was just checking out Amazon's prices for them. I'll shop around. I'm reading reviews and stuff. Do you think the extended-release are better than the regular kind? How much do you need to take per day? I see that some people are taking them twice a day. If they make you sleep better, why would someone take them at lunchtime?

... my kind of cheat. Glad you came over to the wild side! Click the blue "coconut oil" link you see and it will take you to Netrition. They sell quality virgin coconut oil (the good stuff) and you can try it for yourself. I highly recommend starting off with a small container. I bought the large, expensive one and found out I can't tolerate it. Cocoa crack is CO melted with some artificial sweetener, cocoa powder, and a few other things you might like all mixed together and poured in a thin little layer and placed into the freezer. LC/high fat chocolate treat.

I'd look on google for people's experience with it. I know people who have taken WAY over the recommended dosages. I'd try netrition for good prices, actually.

Ok, so if I thought last night's greek yogurt was good, tonights 4T of whipped heavy cream (with a sprinkle of splenda and cocoa) was to die for!! First of all, 4T of heavy whipping cream makes a decent amount of finished product! But before I ate it, I melted 1T of cashew butter and drizzled it over the chocolate whipped cream. You must try this!

I find the coconut oil at Walmart, The Vitamin Store or your local HFS. The one from the HFS adds a slight coconut flavor to your food. I really like it

I need to get adventurous and try making some homemade yogurt myself. Is it really that easy? I'm no longer finding full fat yogurt anywhere around me. Boo!

So my first day of fat fasting yielded a 4 pound drop on the scale. Of course it's mainly water but I'll claim it! I was up 7 from a weekend in Chicago! I didn't count calories so who knows where I came in but for breakfast I had coffee with HWC. Probably 3 cups. Lunch was tuna salad and dinner was 2 slices of bacon and 2 eggs and coffee with coconut oil and HWC! I also ran 3 miles. I'm going to keep this up for a couple more days, maybe till Friday, to see if I can get the rest of my gain off.
