Terri - you are way too kind,lol...very sweet of you!!! Thank you. We WILL be coming to the area. I will PM you the dates. Look at YOUR picture. You are beautiful. You don't need motivation. Let's work on surviving the holidays, and me all this travel, lol. Dh is thinking about doing another round beginning of January. It does help that we've both made a lifestyle change. It would be much harder on me if he had not.

i had an amazing pumpkin shake today and it was very high fat and tasted like pumpkin pie i found the recipe in another thread on this forum and thought i'd repost the basics of it.
here's the recipe: -1/2 cup of pure pumpkin (in a can- i use Libby's) -1/4 cup of heavy cream -2 pckts of splenda or stevia -1 raw egg- sounds gross but you won't even know its there! -some all spice or pumpkin spice (i make my own- just sprinkle a lot of cinnamon, a little bit of ground ginger, and a little bit of ground cloves) -teaspoon of gluc powder to make it a little thick blend in a stick blender til smooth, chill in the freezer or fridge before drinking. ![]() |

Would someone be so kind as to just reassure me here.....?
I have stuck religiously to FF though yesterday I ate ONE cocktail sausage and this morn I was 3/4 of a pound up - now I know this is nothing at all but I am confused as up till now I have lost every day bar one when I stayed the same. Could it really be the one sausage? Maybe it's salt content? I am hoping its just the sausage rather than the diet backfiring maybe if you follow it too long? Though I believe some people do it for a month at a time? ![]() |

Hey Dita,
More than likely it’s a temporary bump brought on by the high sodium of processed meat. Keep on keepin' on, drink up and it'll be gone tomorrow. However some people stall (adapt) faster than others. When I get to that point I alternate calories 500-800 and that helps. Also I have to say FF has been a God Sent. How long have you been P2in'? |

Just checking in with an update. I finished my P2 round 2 1/2 weeks ago and P3 has been going great. I have stabilized at my LIW or a pound above, depending on the day. Last week was my birthday so dh took me out Saturday night. I did pretty well on the meal, but I ate a piece of cheesecake (the sugary kind) for dessert. I knew I would be up the next day and I was - 2 lbs. I guess it could've been worse. So I ate clean P3 on Sunday and Monday I was up .2 more. So yesterday I started a fat fast. I wanted to get this under control before it got out of hand.
I'm not sure I can really call yesterday a FF because I ate 1700 calories - ouch! But it was 87% fat. I know what did it - I made some eggnog and that heavy cream is heavy on calories. So today I was up another .2! What? Today I am sticking to my tried-and-true menu for FF and I am keeping my calories down to 1000 and I hope I drop something tomorrow. I've never gained on a fat fast before so I really hope it was just too many calories. But my reasoning what that NK is like a fat fast with more calories, so I thought it might work. Oh well - today is going fine and I can tell I'm back in ketosis. I will just see what I weigh tomorrow and then decide whether to continue ff or go back to P3. This is why I don't ever cheat - it's too stressful. I am thinking of doing a week of fat fast after Thanksgiving just to get a few lbs. below my LIW. |

I woke up this morning and I was down .8 from yesterday, so that puts me 1.6 lbs. above LIW. I decided that was good enough for me and I am going back to low-carb P3 eating. The fat fast did not seem to work as well for me on P3 as it did on P2. Has anyone else experienced that? I guess the hcg changes my results. Interesting.

Good job Kim! You're doing great.
FF works better for me at different times, haven't quite figured out all the reasons. I will say that I pretty consistently find the best results on day 2 & 3. |

Well, here goes my first FF ever. I am 19 days into my 4th round of P2. My weight loss has slowed way down. I want to try to loose a little more before I end my round for Thanksgiving. I am .8 of a pound away from a 100# pounds lost. So, here is my menu.
B - 2 egg yolks fried in 2 tsp butter, 1 oz bacon - 201 calories L - 1 romaine leaf, 1 oz bacon bits, 1 oz raw cheddar cheese, 4 olives, 1 tbsp blue cheese dressing - 294 calories D - 1 chicken thigh w/skin, 1 pkg guacamole, 1 stuffed egg - 422 calories S - .5 ounce macadamia nuts - 100 calories Total calories 1071. I don't know the fat percentages, but it is all really high fat so I think it will be in the range. I sure hope this works. Have any of you used this at the end of your round and stabilized well? I plan to FF until I end my round. I have heard people say not to do a FF at the end of your round and I have heard people say they used FF to transition into P3. |

I really don't have time to read up on this whole thread, so can somebody just tell me, are most of the fat fasters doing the fat fast while taking hcg?

Felina - I have read the 34 pages this past week in prepartation for doing a fat fast. Lots of good information. Most everyone I can remember did the fat fast while taking hcg or transitioning to P3. HTH |

Yesterday was my last dose day. I did a macadamia nut FF yesterday, and I had a -.2 loss this morning I figured I would STS or gain a little, since I've heard most people lose better on day 2 & 3 of a FF. BUT...I will take it...my goal was to be 175, and I am 175.8...close enough. I just had to see the 175 in there Hoping today & tomorrow nets me -.8 I am going to make some cream cheese muffins for today. I can't do the nuts again...they're $8 a jar...and right now $$$ is really tight...and I have cream cheese already. Tomorrow...I think I am going to do a sausage day...I have these really FATTY sausage patties by Goolsby's (6 patties=1080 cal., 86.44% fat). Monday starts P3 for me.I will let you know how it goes!!!!

Yeah! My FF netted me 1#. I am down to 189.8. Hello 180's. I ate pretty much the same thing today except I didn't get down near as much water. Hopefully, that won't hurt me too much. I plan one more day of FF on hcg. I am planning the same menu. I am very satisfied with what I am eating. I have felt so much better the last 2 days on the FF than I had been feeling.
Crazy PreK - Great job on your FF. Hoping you have even better losses tomorrow. |

Great job on your loss!!! Today I STS...175.8 But...I am really happy with that. Normally, after 2-3 days of a PI or P3...I am usually up 2-3 lbs. by now. It's odd that if I don't incorporate any veggies, I stabilize...just protein/fat...I stabilize. I truly believe that I still am VERY carb-sensitive. Hopefully through JUDDD...I may be able to train my body a little bit to accepting a few carbs ![]() I had 4 sausage patties yesterday, but didn't eat the last 2...went to a b-day party for my son's friend and ended up eating an italian sausage (which I love!) and 2 pieces of bacon...so still lots of fat. Going to have avocado & cream cheese muffins today. I start normal P3 tomorrow...so that's when I may bump up some. Going to stay high protein/high fat...and try to get the calories up. My first few days are pretty tough...then I usually do okay...but it is a lot of work for me...I'm weird...lol. I am going to JUDDD either Friday after Thanksgiving or next Monday. Have a BLESSED Sunday!!! |

Crazy PreK - Yes, I am also going to transition into P3 with primarily meat and fat with a few low carb veggies plus a few strawberries. I do quite well like that also. I hope you have great success. You have made a tremendous accomplishment.
Today I lost .8 on my 3rd day of my FF. That puts me at 189. I will decide in the morning (after I weigh:-) if I am going to do one more day on drops or go ahead and start my 2 days without drops. I would be thrilled to end my round at 188 or less. That would make my 2 pound window not above 190. Either way I am going to continue with the FF to transition into P3 by increasing my calories with the same foods and more protein. I have felt so much better with the fat. I am really not feeling any urgency to stop P2 like I normally am. |

Update on me:
I weighed in this morning at 176.2...so I am up +.4 Kinda figured I would be...I still have some tightness in my hands & feet. I will take an epsom salt bath tonight...that really helps flush water retention. Overall...I am very pleased with the fact that I am NOT 2-3 lbs. up...usually I am...so the FF worked that way...even though I was wishing for a few more lbs. lost like some of the others. I ate a lot of different fats yesterday...avocado, pistachios, cream cheese muffins, & a little chunk of the individual Tillamook cheese...still really full. I haven't decided what to do today. I doubt I will even get in enough calories...which is what worries me...I don't want to go into starvation mode. Perhaps I should start JUDDD today w/ 500-600 calories, so I can eat more tomorrow I was going to wait til next week...it is what probably be happening even if I didn't "mentally" start...kwim? I need to do a protein shake today.Have a great day, ya'll!!! |

I don't understand the concept of doing the FF while on hcg. I mean, losses are so good from the FF alone (I've done it a lot), is there any benefit in combining it with hcg?
I'm not being critical, just interested because I'm in p2 and I would like to have some BACON! |

Ok, yesterday I didn't get in any of my protein so only ate just a tad over 200 cals and ended up with a one lb gain today. Go figure.
So anyways, I decided to try fat fasting to shake things up a little. I'm still taking my drops. I only have about 550 fat fast calories in today, but I think I'm done for the day because I have absolutely no hunger. 500 calories of fat fast is so much better than 500 calories of VLCD. Heehee. |

So Im starting the fat fast today
in the morning I tried 2 boiled egg yolks with mayo. EEEW. I hate mayo, don't know why I thought this would work. I didn't even eat it all, ew. Then I ate some butter to make the 200cals. tomorrow I'll try 1 egg, scrambled, according to my math it's enough calories and fat. I had cream, 200 cal, 82,5%, loved it. so far so good. I'm planning on having 1oz of macadamia nuts , 1oz of butter (yes I enjoy eating butter more than mayo), duck paté (52g = 200 cal, 88,8%) and that's it, 1000 cals and 89% from fats! Im happy because I like everything I have planned. and I can deal with hunger. so Im optimistic! |

boiled yolk with mayo and butter cream mac nuts duck paté butter I felt fine during the day but then in bed I was so hungry. it took me a while to fall asleep. and then I had a dream about food!! but this morning I was fine! no hunger. I had a scrambled egg with butter and duck paté already. drinking a lot of water as well. I have energy, feel completely normal, but most of all no cravings! |

I think I can deal with it... today is the 3rd day, and as I said I woke up really shaky and in the morning I had to walk a lot so I felt weirdly weak. but the hunger got better. I've had 3 of the meals today (same as in the first day) . I haven't weighed in yet so I can't tell if it's working, I'll do that tomorrow and share the results. If I see progress even if it's just one pound, I'll do this for one more day. If not, Im getting back to atkins induction.
I was thinking I'd stay on induction and then from time to time (maybe once a week) do one or two days of FF |

Ok so, more news! Yesterday (3rd day) I hadn't slept a lot so I went to bed early. Like 22 pm (which for me is freakin early). My last two meals were kinda close to each other because I was hungry but well. Anyway I ended up waking up at 6am and I felt really thinner. I know that sounds weird but I can tell how much I weigh by how I look so I was super confident. I didnt weigh myself though, and I was really hungry and weak so I drank a bunch of water and ate one of the meals. Still I managed to fall asleep again after an hour. I woke up again at 11am. Feeling a little shaky still.
Weigh-in: I lost an average of 1 pound for each day of the FF. NOT bad at all given I'm not that big to start with Now I've decided to do the FF again today. I don't think I'll do it again tomorrow mostly because Im running out of high fat resources lol! So today Had already two of the meals. Since I started early though Im kinda scared. Meal 3 will be at 14, meal 4 will be at 17:30 and meal 5 would be at 21... But I'll probably need another one. Which Im not scared about. I think if I have 1200 cals and still keep it at 88% fat I'm all good. But Im really enjoying the FF I mean, it does get boring and stuff but to see these results... makes it worth it!
