I was a little worried to weigh in today. My last two FF I was up after the fourth day. Calories 1510,84F, 13P, 4C, down .40 And I actually worked out last night too. I'm calling yesterday LDW, doing another FF today (on the lower calorie side) and moving to P3.
When you say balancing the protein and fat in P3 were you having equal amounts of protein and fat with a little veggies and fruits?

Low glycemic veggies I ate whatever I wanted, salad stuff, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, squash, etc but stayed away from the starchy stuff like corn, peas and limas.

Fruit, again with the low glycemic, strawberries, cantaloupe, and occasional apples. I would generally have one-two servings a day. Sometimes just half servings, like three large strawberries sliced alongside my eggs.

On the protein and fat balance grams, not calories or percentages.

Thank you my last P3 was a complete failure and I gained everything back from the last P2 so I want to make sure that I am successful this time.

I really struggled with my first couple too. That's why I'm on Round 7. As long as I kept this up I did really well. As soon as I got tired of it and stopped I started to regain. I believe I'm more tired of P2 then tracking fat and protein on P3 so hopefully I'll keep it up this time

Good Luck to all!!

jumping in because I'm in the middle of a round of hcg and dying for fat. I'm one of those that metabolizes in such a way that a high fat diet is where I feel my best. I do really well on hcg but MAN am I craving fat. You know its sad when all you want in life is chicken salad!

I've read half the thread and am going to keep going...but I wanted to ask, has anyone used this mid round as opposed to end? Because you were craving rather than to break a stall?

I'm in stall territory right now as TOM is about to start. I would just love to do the FF for the weekend, jump back into p2, fast next weekend and stop the drops on Monday. Is there a flaw in this plan I'm not seeing? I'd love some feedback! This has been a slower-er round than others. Well, that's not true. I had to cut a round short a few weeks ago for something unexpected and gained back almost 7 pounds. It was the first time I didn't do p3 by the book-because I couldn't. So this round has been fine, but losing that 7 pounds again has taken half the round.

Anyway, I'm looking to see if I can get the scale to move despite TOM. THANK YOU!

read through and I'm in. ya'll are awesome.

starting today. just had 2 egg yolks with mayo. plan to have 2 ounces of chicken thigh with mayo a bit later. that's a bit over 400 cals. I'm then going to make those delicious sounding cream cheese "muffins" for 200cals per 2 muffins as far as I can figure. I'll eat those for 2 meals. I just have to figure out what my last 200 cals will be!

I'm really hoping to see a drop tomorrow. It was like HEAVEN eating the egg/mayo. I mixed it up though and did the whole hard cooked egg so I ended up having to eat around the white. Oops. My brain went into failure just thinking about the fat!

I really hope this works, but frankly can't figure out why it wouldn't. Here's hoping!

Thank you! It's been awesome! I've got my fingers crossed for tomorrow. If this works, I'll be over the moon.

Those cheesecake muffins were "meh" when I had them. However later? Refrigerated? TO DIE FOR.

I don't know what recipe you're using, but I usually go for more extract whether vanilla, almond, etc.

Blessed be the scale fairy! But don't underestimate the two day effect. Most of us get our best loses on day two.

The scale fairy was kind! I lost almost 2 pounds! 1.9 to be exact. I felt fabulous and I'm not suprised-my body lives for fat. However I am feeling rather blessed that I found you all!

I have my food counted out and set up for the day. Looking forward to another fat fast!

Thank you! Down .2 today. Not awesome, but I'll take it! I'm just trying to decide if I fat fast another few days or jump right back into p2. Both are fine for me, I'm hungrier fat fasting for sure. But it's not intolerable. I'm just debating if I'll see more results if I keep at it for 2 more days.

Thoughts? Is there a trend? Like if you lose a bunch the first day then you're less likely to lose the next few? Or vice versa? Or is it really just very individual?

I welcome feedback!

Hi! I'm not an expert, but I've done the FF 2x now. Both times I did 4 days. The first time, I should have quit after the 3rd day, since I WAY overdid the last day knowing that I was going back into P2 . I ended up gaining about 1 lb for an overall loss of 3.? ( can't remember exactly). I was much more careful with my numbers on my second attempt and managed to lose 6.8 lbs in 4 days (used th FF as a transition into P3). I was glad I had the extra couple of days since I had some great losses on day 3 and 4...just to share my experience for your consideration!

Hi all! Last month I did a 3 day FF in the last week of a 40 day P2. It worked like a charm for me! I had gained 2 lbs. and got frustrated and did the FF. I lost those 2 and then 3 more. Even though I'm in P3/4 (if you can call it that!) I have been anywhere from 1-5 over LDW. I plan to do the macadamia nut FF today and maybe tomorrow. Hope you'all don't mind that I join you since I'm not in P2. I'll report in tomorrow!

okay...I'm sticking with it at least for today. I'm being super strict (1000 cals) and in two days have lost 2.1 pounds. So....I'll hold out and see what the scale says tomorrow.

Thanks for answering!

Hello to all. I have been following this thread as I am in R2P2 and have had a terrible time. I had only lost 12 lbs in 32 days of vlcd. I was stalled and was thinking of just ending the round and going into P3/4. My first round was great, stabilized using Leptin RX and paleo, even losing 5 lbs under my LIW. Well, I took the plunge and did two days of FF. I didn't lose anything after day one, and then this morning saw a 2 lbs loss. I only have two days left of injections and am torn about what I should do. Should I do a total of three days FF and then the last injection day of vlcd followed by the 72 hours of vlcd? Or should I just FF until my first P3 day?

What I have been eating:
first ff day: coconut manna, chicken thighs w/skin, cream cheese muffins
second ff day: scrambled eggs with butter, chicken thighs w/skin, cream cheese muffins, cream cheese spread on celery.

I don't think I did more than 1000 calories, but know that I was only able to get the fat up to about 78% without going over the calories.

Any suggestions?

thanks for any advice and thank you all for reporting the good and the bad of the FF!

I think my tread, if anything has been an every other day drop. Maybe .20 one day and then 2.1 the next and so forth. So I would totally go for the third.

Jump on in j4Christ, I'm in P3 too and going to start FF tomorrow to recover from a retirement party on Saturday.

starting FF today to recover from being irresponsible this weekend! that said, if a 3 lb gain is all I get for the garbage I ate, water I didn't drink, and exercising I lacked, I shouldn't complain!

that said, I'm kicking it old school and having cream cheese for breakfast. eugh. tuna salad and cocoa crack for the rest of the day's food.

Hmm, I also realized that my ff day was done incorrectly...for my first "meal" i misunderstood and had more than I should have. As a result I had more than 1000 cals in the day. Not by too much but I did. I wonder if that was part of it?

I have noticed that on any protocol to get results I need more calories than most. On HCG I have never lose on 500. I need to stay near 750 to lose. I wonder if this would be similar? Just musing aloud....

I'm ff today and will see what the scale says tomorrow. If I don't have a drop then I'm just back to VLCD. No biggie.

I'm so grateful for the help on this forum!

I kept my calorie range between 1000-1200 but made sure that my percentage of fat was at least 85%-90%. I found that if I got higher than 90% I was dizzy and light headed and had trouble concentrating. I didn't worry about sticking at exactly 1000 calories, but concentrated more on upping the fat %. When I added protein, I stuck with high fat like egg yolks, bacon and tuna...or chicken legs with the skin.

I'm the same way; I need more calories than most. I usually alternate between 1100 and 1400 per day and like aerin8, concentrated more on keeping my fat percentage up. For me egg yolks, high fat beef for protein and nuts and SF Whip cream for snacks and the cream cheese muffins are a staple.

okay, mayday. I'm off this train. What a miserable day! My blood sugar is an absolute disaster which doesn't happen on p2 at ALL. I am definitely back to protocol no matter what the scale says in the morning. And I have a feeling it's not going to move.

It's in part my fault. I didn't up my calories until the 4th meal. That wasn't smart. So I only had 600 cals until I ate at 6pm. No bueno, folks.

Now I can live on 600 cals with no issues-I just don't lose all that well. Apparently I can NOT live on 600 calories when 85% comes from fat.

The more you know.....

For posterity, I did 3 days of fat fasting and lost *exactly* 3 pounds. That's a win, I'll totally take it and it was worth it....but I don't think I'll do it again. Or, if I do, it will be with cals around 1400. The day I stuck to 1000 I lost .2, the other two I went over (first unintentionally, third intentionally.) First day I lost almost 2 pounds and third day I lost almost a full pound. So, it certainly worked, but I think this is just a case of me needing more calories than expected.

I got into trouble yesterday because by 5:30 I had eaten 600 and it just wasn't enough. I added some protein to my last two "meal" and it took awhile to rebound, but once I did I was fine.

So, that's my ff experience!

Are you finding that the FF days while on P3 are helping you stabilize or lose more weight?

Hi Cindy,
This is only the second time I’ve tried it on P3. The first time was more of a correction at the end and then I started a P2 shortly after and it worked great. This time, I hope to use it to lose more weight. I’m hoping the fat/protein balancing in-between will be my stabilizer.

Thanks for the information, I was too chicken to try the FF when I was in P2 but may use it as a backup when on P3.
