Dh lost 1.2 from the macadamia FF. It was a difficult day for him. He didn't think he was getting enough calories
. He is doing it again today, but, adding some protein for dinner. We'll see how that goes. |

I did a version of this fat fast yesterday (my first one) and lost 2 lbs. Nice trick for quick loss.
1 oz cream cheese for b'fast (eaten slowly over hours) 1 oz macadamia nuts for lunch (eaten slowly over hours) 1 oz macadamia for snack (eaten slowly over hours) 2 deviled eggs and three strips thick cut bacon at 8 pm (otherwise can't sleep on empty stomach) |

Hey guys! I just finished reading this thread and am doing my first intentional fat fast today. So far in my two HCG rounds, I've had my biggest losses when I eat naked chicken wings from our favorite wing place. I can eat 10 (about 1000 cals) and drop a pound and a half, usually, as long as I don't have much else during the day or eat them too late at night. I don't usually do this more than once a week, but if I can get more losses by eating more fat, I'm game. No wings today, but my day looks like this:
Coffee w/ 3T HWC 1 T VCO 2 oz Kerrygold Cheddar Coffee w/ 3T HWC 2 oz beef bone marrow Total cals: 1075 with 93% fat, 2% carbs, 5% protein Im VLCD 20/21 and getting slower losses than I'm used to (not crying over it, but it doesn't hurt to be proactive, right?). I'm trying to really give this fat fast thing a run for its money, to see if this works for me. I'm interested in trying this for three days with 90% or higher fat. I think if this works, I may do it every Fri, Sat, and Sun until I reach 199 or less (18 pounds from now). The rest of my family eat paleo/primal, so this would be much easier for me to stay on track on the weekends. We're big foodies, so the weekends when my husband is home all day and experimenting are tough on me. Anyway, I really appreciate all of the info and documentation from you trail blazers. I think there's really something to this and I'm praying that combined with the Leptin Reset afterwards, I'll stabilize well. Have a wonderful day, y'all! |

yes, I just chuckled to myself because it was 1000 calories, and the hcg protocol HE HAS BEEN DOING is 500 calories . He thinks he should have more calories than a woman, lol. If he had better metabolism than a woman, maybe, but, sadly he does not. He's having a better round this round though, so no complaints. Thanks again for the video and your help! I will keep you posted |

Hey Marie! 1.2 is not bad at all for day one. A lot of us find better losses on day two. Day one for me was Calories 1101,88F,8P,4C and I only lost .20. Day two Calories 1403, 83F,12P,5C and I lost 2.5. Obviously my body perfers a little high calories too.
Nice plan Jazzle, good luck! Let us know how it goes. |

it's nice to see you! Dh came home very hungry. Dinner will be the rest of his nuts with a hamburger patty&avocado. It's back to protocol tomorrow. I told him some people see better results on the second day, so that is why he went ahead with another day. |

Hey Marie,
Good to see you as well! Looks like you are continuing to do as well as usual. I tried to do a macadamia day and just couldn't talk myself into it. I like to eat too much. ![]() And I actually do better on 1300-1400 calories. But I do generally bounce back and forth between about 1000 and 1400. If he wants to try it again I can give you some recipes for things like pepperoni pizza, cream cheese muffins, etc. that have worked out well for me. Take care! |

Ok, I need help! I am on my 2nd round of hcg. Did rx first then did the intermountain pellets for this round. Gained 8lbs from my load...then lost nothing on my first day of vlc. Next day was down .4 then nothing. I was kind of puffy, so I did a water pill, detox bath and lost over 7lbs the next day(I know a lot of that was water) then the next day lost another 3+lbs. Then the following three days I have seen a steady 1.2lb gain. I did lose very well on round one.
Should i think about trying a ff before i cave and go back to my rx. It is WAY more $$ but heck, if i'm not going to lose and GAIN? ![]() My tastebuds are screaming yes!!!!!!!! mmmmm, I miss my butter coffee in the am!I'm up for any suggestions! |

I agree. Second round is notoriously bad (though not for ALL), but I have to wonder if something you're eating is seriously disagreeing with you. What have you been eating on Pp2? I agree with Terri, though. Try another FF and if it doesn't shake things up (in a good way), go back to what you know works for you.

So, my FF yielded me a loss of 2.2 pounds. Totally thrilled. I'm going to go with it today and possibly tomorrow. I felt great. Still do, in fact!

![]() Day 2 of ff for dh and just down 2 ounces, so, overall 1.4. It's not bad, but, he didn't think it was worth it. Poor guy, he does not have a typical male metabolism. He is a bit older, 63, so I think that works against him also. Overall, he is having a terrific round. This is R2P2VLCD10 for him, and he is down 9.4. He is 215.6, and his LDW from last round was 220. It was a number he rarely saw after that day. His starting weight was 225 for this round. He's going back to regular protocol today.

Woo Hoo Jazzle WTG!! What was your menu and stats?
You know Marie, I’m a notoriously low looser and my losses were much better upping the calories a bit and eating more traditional type meals. As traditional as FF can get that is. ![]() Day three for me (calories 1284, 82F, 14P, 4C) netted another 1.2 loss. Total for the three days is 3.7. I’m doing another FF (on pellets) today and then considering moving to P3 balancing my fat and protein grams. I may do intermittent FF during P3. They seems to work equally well for me on P3 and well as P2. |

that is a great loss. I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!!! ![]() . He's been taking his pellets during the ff. Was he not supposed to ? I think if you can avoid another round of hcg, that is great!I've been doing straight calorie counting 1600-1800 and maintaining nicely. In fact, today I even saw 131.8, but, I'm not trying to lose more. As long as 133 is my high, I am good. I did JUDDD for awhile, but, I was getting too hungry on my DD's. I like to eat, lol. I am walking 4 miles per day. |

I can't think of anything that is abnormal that i didn't eat first round. I have checked all of my supplements (b12, potassium and welbutrin) was on those R1 and they contain no sugar, starch, etc... I did start a ff today. Butter coffee, avo + brie for lunch, cream cheese/butter for a snack and we will see what calories i have left over for later tonight. I called my dr and told them i would be there asap after school to get my Rx again! I was trying the homeo to see if i could save some bucks. Oh well,.....My taste buds are enjoying the fat....even if my tummy has already rebeled! Hope everyone has a great day! Quote:

Yes, definitely, good luck, Theresa. I hope the prescription HCG kicks whatever's going on in the butt!
As far as my menu yesterday, I figured that if I was going to try a real fat fast, I was going to REALLY do it, KWIM? So, I had: 12 oz coffee, 3 T HWC, and 1 T VCO 10 oz coffee, 2 T HWC, 1 oz Kerrygold Gouda style cheese (I seriously do a happy dance while eating this, it's so good) 1 shrimp (DH made paleo fried rice with shrimp...OMG, I can't wait until I can eat that!!!), about 2 oz beef bone marrow Totals: 1248 calories, 4 carbs, 131 fat, 8 protein Percentages: 96% fat, 3% protein, 1% carbs HTH! |

You can buy marrow bones for soup. Im not sure if larger stores like Walmart have them, but I've seen them in almost all smaller grocery stores (always good to TRY to get them from grass-fed cows, lamb, etc.). If we're making beef curry or stew, we brown them and throw them in with everything else. If we're not making anything beefy, I just brown them in our pressure cooker, add some beef broth (about a cup), some salt, some pepper, and some curry powder. Bring up to pressure and cook for 15-20 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally and enjoy. The leftover broth and any marrow you don't eat can be simmered down and reduced to add to another dish for really great, beefy flavor. Lamb is excellent, too.
As far as what I DO with it? I just knock it out of the bone and eat it with a spoon. If its from lamb shanks or in a narrower bone, you can use a straw (no joke lol). People who eat wheat typically eat it on toasted French bread or a cracker with a sprinkling of salt and parsley. It's exceedingly fatty in texture, so it's very hit or miss whether people like it straight or not. It's very healthy, though, and many make bone broth soup because it's so nourishing and healing. Have I just grossed out half the forum? lol |

Hey Jazz! You had me till you mentioned the need for a straw! lol
OMG i just had a piece of pork side (super fatty thick uncured, unprocessed bacon) OMG i totally forgot in only 2 weeks how melt in your mouth delicious it is...why cant we just live on a ff??? I totally could! Though in p3 i was eating about 80 fat/15 prot/5 carbs and stayed around my daily caloric needs and gained steady everyday until i did a gycd...lost 8lbs then started the climb all over again...never did figure out what on earth i was doing wrong! I was ready to get back to the constant rigor of p2 just so i could depend on not gaining! lol...go figure! Ok, so my question is this. I started the ff today (my tastebuds are in heaven!) i was going to do 3 or 4 days...depending on the scale...should i start my rx hcg tomorrow morning...or wait till i finish the ff? I just don't know so i'm looking for guidance from some of ya'll that have done this before! Thanks so much for the help and support! I LOVE this site!!! |

I don't even count my round two as round two. It was an abysmal failure even though I was totally prepared for it. Not everyone's is like that, but it is fairly common.

After a day or two I found I wasn't near as hungry on fat fast. But you need to do what you need to do to survive. Life is too short to be miserable.
My Round 1,2 & 3, while challenging went well, 4 & 6, not so much. I learned to do FF in round five and that went well with the exception of cheating in between FFs. Yes I'm on round seven. But to be fair, I never actually finished 4 6. I just lost my motivation. I actually felt really good today (day four) not any hunger and very energetic. I also eat more calories than the average bear. I actually lose better with more calories. I also alternate up and down with calories to keep my body from settling in. |

Another not so great round 2 here for me also. Dh seems to be having a decent round 2. I've read about quite a few bad round 2's, but, then there are good ones too. Our bodies are fickle. Hang in there. Btw, dh is up 4 ounces today, but, I don't think I consider it a rebound

![]() ![]() I was DOWN .2! Now, I know that is not an earth shattering loss...BUT I was just happy it wasn't in the other direction!!! I was a bit woozey last night, but I ended at almost 85% fat or better...so I am thinking my body was just in shock? And my beloved butter coffee is tearing my tumtum up! lol...but I LOVE it! Why can't we live on ff??? Weird, I never stabilized in p3 for six weeks I would do the steady climb out of the window...do gycd...lose 7+lbs...then climb again. I was pretty much eating at the 75/15/10 ratios for fat/prot/carbs. Not sure what I was getting in that my body just didn't want...and I think i jumped in with both feet WAY too fast! lol...I was warned! I won't do that this round....slow and steady back into p3 when i get there is six weeks! I hope ya'll have a fantastic day and HAPPY FRIDAY!! ![]() |

Thersa I was only .2 my first day too. Keep the faith. One thing that was recommended to me and really helped me stabilize in P3 was balancing Protein and Fat grams (not calories or percentage). I actually did a little better with my fat a little higher but balanced for the most part. It really made the difference for me in stabilization. I was a little worried to weigh in today. My last two FF I was up after the fourth day. Calories 1510,84F, 13P, 4C, down .40 And I actually worked out last night too. I'm calling yesterday LDW, doing another FF today (on the lower calorie side) and moving to P3. |
