I have to say, yes there are some side effects! My first fat fast day yesterday made my tummy feel a but rumbly. Then out of nowhere, it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I was running to the bathroom..if you know what I mean!! I would not plan anything super important that first day..just in case! My tummy is a bit better today though...

Well this should be interesting...I did 3 days of fat fasting last Monday, Tues and Wed and lost 3 lbs in 2 days (which is great for me for being in the middle of a round of P2 when my losses usually come to a halt!). I couldn't handle doing anymore than 3 days so I went back to P2 for Thur and Fri and lost 1/2 a pound as of this morning.
I'm back on a FF for today and tomorrow (and maybe Monday depending on how I do)--mostly because I got a massage today and didn't want the oils to mess up protocol P2 and tomorrow is Easter and I want to at least be able to eat a few deviled eggs if I can't have candy Not sure what my body will think of me jumping back and fourth between protocol P2 and Fat Fasting but I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes. I am now only 3 lbs away from my lowest weight of 162 that I reached last round and 5 lbs away from my ultimate dream goal of 160! I know that may sound "big" to some people but I am THIN when I am 160! I think the last time I was 160 was my wedding day 16 years ago! Hope everyone else is doing well and has a great holiday weekend--whichever holiday it is you celebrate

has anyone transitioned to P3 via 2-day fat fast? how was stabilization after that?
I'm thinking of doing this, thursday & friday, but I want to hear other people's experiences first if possible. |

Yep, I did in my last round. I will say I didn't really lose much doing the fat fast but I did it more because I was going to DIE if I had to eat another day of fat free food LOL I lost 2 oz the first day and then nothing the second and third day but I was ok with that since I was at goal. I moved right into P3 and had stabilized great until I got the bright idea to go out drinking one night and gained 4 lbs because of it and could never get it off. I did then stabilize at that new weight for the next 4 months or so. All in all, I don't think the FF hurt my stabilization in any way--just the alcohol!

Quick question. Were you still dosing with HCG during this? I'm trying to get a low down on fat fasting while in P2, and there is SO much information to sift through! I'm conservative by nature with this; an extremely slow loser, so I'm trying to decide whether or not to throw in a fat fast day or two. I haven't stalled; but my skin is SO DRY, and I drink tons of water! My average is one pound lost per 3 days, (I'm in my last 5). Thanks for any help. |

star, I wasn't sure how to calculate percentages but I ate from the list on the first page: macadamia nuts, nut butters and cream cheese and tried my best to eat everything in moderation. I am a tad disappointed about the gain but I felt GREAT all day yesterday so I don't really regret it. Also, I think it's going to make the remaining VLCDs easier. I didn't cringe at the sight of chicken today so I'm taking a positive from this experiment!

Is there a max # of grams of protein per day in a fat fast? I'm guessing I can make the fat 85-90% (using Fitness Pal app) 1000 calories, broken into 5 200-calorie meals. Is there anything else to consider?

Well, I succeeded with about 90% fat intake yesterday and love it, until about 7pm. Nature called repeatedly, refusing to allow me to put it on hold, and I started feeling lightheaded. I really suspect I need more protein.
I'm up .7, but wondering if I should try one more day with a little more protein or just go back to VLC while thinking of this as a mini-load that might get things moving again... I don't know! Luv is a fairytale - how did you do? Any losses since returning back to VLC? |

hello ladies..another lurker coming out of the shadows ;]
I decided to try the FF over the weekend. Only had 6 days of injections left, and the thought of eating bacon [and losing lbs quick!] was way too tempting. So now, 3 days later, I wish I had just waited :[ day 1 I ate about 86% fat, gained 1 lb. 80% day 2, gained more, too upset to do the math Stuck it out for the 3rd day, ate 90% this time, and weighed in at .8 lbs more than where I was before I started this. Really disappointed. I followed STRICT protocol for 35 days, and now I feel like I wasted a whole week. even worse I only have a few days to try and fix this. Long story short, just had my second apple. Wanted to share my story, maybe this just works better for the rogues. And thanks for all your posts, no way I could've made it this far without this website, it's been a lifesaver! |

Your fat % was great but did you have any sugars through fruit or veggies?? Here to report my results... FF D1 (90F/5P/5C) - scale went up .7... FF D2 (85F/12P/3C) - scale went down 3 solid pounds!!!
I'm glad I stuck with it one more day! Overnight I lost more than my P2 weeks 4 & 5 combined! (That's why I was getting desperate, FYI.) I initially was going to do it 3 days, but my body is telling me no... I was feeling sick... stomach issues, lightheadedness -not pleasant, and I took it as a sign that I needed to just stop. Hope things keep moving along now... P2, D39... back to VLC... and P2 foods never tasted so good! |

Also, my best losses came on day two or day three...I don't think that FF is really just a one day thing unless you are simply doing it as a correction day. Just my opinion from my experience, I fat fast alot.

Thoughts?
I'm on my second round of HCG, VLCD25 and I seem to have hit a stall:
VLCD20: 176.6 VLCD21: 177.4 VLCD22: 178.2 VLCD23: 178.8 VLCD24: 176.6 VLCD25: 176.8 I've been eating strickly to protocol and am drinking a ton of water, so I can't figure out what the issue is. I'm on an apple day today, but I'm considering a FF over the weekend to help get things moving. I've been lurking around and copying down recipes and menus to help me plan for it. I found the following recipe and thought it looked like it could work well for me...thoughts from some of the pros would be appreciated! ![]() Low Carb Chocolate Mousse For the pudding: 2 hass avocados 2 Tbl coconut oil ˝ cup premium cocoa powder 1 tsp stevia sweetener 3 Tbl SF chocolate flavored syrup 4 Tbl heavy cream For the mousse: 1 cup heavy cream 1 tsp stevia Pudding: Combine all ingredients in a blender or magic bullet and puree until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness as necessary. If it is too thick, add a splash more heavy cream until you get the consistency you want for the pudding. Mousse: Whip heavy whipping cream with stevia sweetener until stiff. Using a rubber spatula gently fold 1/3 of the whipped cream into the pudding, then gently fold the pudding mixture into the rest of the whipped cream until it’s completely blended and smooth. Makes 8 1/2 cup servings. Approx nutrition info per serving of mousse: 227cals, 23g fat, 3g net carbs, 3g protein For the pudding only, entire batch is: 995 cals, 96g fat, 16g net carbs, 16g protein |

Doing a FF for the next 3-5 days.
Today's menu: 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream in coffee 1 ounce mac nuts 2 hard boiled eggs mixed with 1/2 avocado and 1 1/2 tbsp mayo 1/4 cup of chocolate pudding (recipe above) Total Calories: 1029 Total fat: 104 grams 89% fat. I did 40 minutes of weight lifting and 2 aerobic miles. I'm on day 17 of round 4. I have not been weighing daily but had a HUGE family crisis on Wed that resulted in me losing control for about a 24 hour binge and a gain from the last time I did weigh (Tuesday). This morning when I got up I was debating between right back on track with VLCD or fat fast... FF won. I'm not sure how many days I will do FF.. possible 4-5. I'm horrible about sticking with my own plans so will just take it one day at a time!! Last edited by shirleychef; 04-20-2012 at 12:02 PM.. |

Hey Shirley!
I'll be joining you Monday. This round is going torturously slow. If it weren't Friday and we're heading to the coast tomorrow I'd start today. I'm going to concentrate on just not gaining until Monday and then go for it. Haven't decided whether to start with a beef day, although I'm on P2 or just start with Fat Fast. Good luck to you! Hope you're past your family crisis and things are improved. |

Thanks IThinkICan!
Terri... it is better but my teen son is struggling so badly right now. Lots of prayers and patience is needed... especially from me. I tend to lose it with him which does NOT help the situation. I remained calm, PTL through the Wednesday ordeal... but then turned to food. I only gained 1.6 on the binge.. but last time the FF took weight off me quickly, that is what I'm after. I'll decide when to stop and move back to VLCD as time goes on... not planning or promising myself anything this time! Today I'm actually doing REALLY well. Last time my FF started a Fat Feast. Today I've been under control... perhaps it is the determination to be back in the 140's before too long!! The exercise I'm doing this round is helping me to tone nicely which is a blessing!! The flabbiness is decreasing! Have a fun weekend!! ![]() |
