Are you kidding, you're rocking it!
I know when you read lables, it gives you the percentage of fat but in calorie books it gives you total calories and then grams of fat, protein, etc. I'm a little confused how to figure it. |

Use ********* to log your food. It will tell you calorie count as well as give you the percentage of fat/protein/ and carbs at the bottom! I just got done playing with it for well over a half hour trying to get my fat above 81% without breaking the 1000 calorie breaker and its nearly impossible unless you want to eat mayo off a spoon.

Sometimes I use ************ or one of those but I'm pretty confident figuring it myself. So if I have 1000 calories for the day and 775 from fat, then my % is 77.5. If I only know my fat grams (lets say 89) take 89x9=801 then 801/1000=80%. I've found that the websites for figuring cals are not the same as the food package labels, so I always go by the packaging. (ps. Thanks to Mini for letting me know how many cals are in a gram of fat!)

QUESTION?
Another lurker here, must be the night for us! Hello everyone! Nice to meet you.
This my third round. The first round was 75 days and I lost 30 lbs. Very happy. The second one was ok, but I just could not get it to stick! I only lost 7 lbs but, I was ok with it. My goal is 125 and I was 128 but it just keeps wanting to go back to LDW of 132/134. Anyway, after 30 days, I stopped the round and stayed at 134 from Sept. to Christmas. So here I am trying another round and trying to get it to "stick." It is Day 16. On day 13, after a 4 day stall, I tried the FF you are all talking about. I lost 1 lb...yea...went back to strict program and on day 14 lost .8. Good right? Only on day 15, I woke up to a 1.8 gain! What did I do wrong? 1000 cal. and 79% fat. Did I miss something? I did eggs and mayo, tuna with avocado and mayo and full fat plain greek yogart with stevia. Now I did another FF day yesterday and the scale never moved...still 134.6 so I am trying it again today. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Thank you for any help! Honey48 |

Fat fast today is going well, I made a cream cheese/whip cream concoction and boy, is it rich! I'm slightly over on cals (1080) but want to finish up what I made last night since it's back to P2 tomorrow (or as close as I get to P2, anyway!) I'm suspecting a bigger loss tomorrow since I have been going to the bathroom like a madwoman today, but we'll see. So far this fat fast has been about 2 pound loss. I'll probably start another one the middle of next week. Good luck to all of you girls! |

Only lost .4 when I weighed this morning. So I went back to protocol today. Even though my losses weren't huge and I didn't get the WOOSH I was hoping to, I learned that I can eat high fat at 1000 calories and still lose weight. It was a welcome change for a few days - so I happy to have had the little break

day's menu
Thank you for your welcome and kind words. Happy to share! My loss this morning after my first day was 1.4 lb. Which feels good after no losses for so long.
Today I'm trying to go as low carb as I can. There was a guy, off-site, who made a pretty good case for zero carb for fast weight loss. Every thing is so low carb anyway, that it can't hurt to try. And if you see Atkins 1st FF protocol, there's like no carbs--strictly fat. Here's what I had yesterday: 1) macadamia nuts(1 oz) 2) 1 oz tuna/1 T canola mayo on celery stalk 3) 1/4 c mozzarella(fried brown on one side-1 second on other to set--to make patty)/T ofpizza sauce(7 cal)/7 pepperoni/toast in toaster oven- 200 calories-- smallish but delish and satisfying 4) 1/2 chocoperfection bar/ coffee(shouldn't have-not enuf fat, 8 carbs, 105 cal) but yummy -- bought on netrition for ps3 -$$$ but worth it if I won't feel deprived. Really needed to try it. 5) 4 T(pre-whipped) - whipped cream w/cocoa and stevia. Only 811 calories but I was too stuffed --80% fat. Supposed to have 1000 cal, oh well, trying to be more on target today. Will post today's menu tonight or tomorrow. I use ****** to track everything--it's been instrumental(and free!) |

Well ladies, today I had more calories but still fat fast macronutrient ratios. I was just HUNGRY. I've decided to stop my hhcg and try to keep to a very low carb diet, moderate proteins and at least 70% fat while upping my calories over the coming days. I hope the weight continues to come off... even if it's just a little bit at a time. My body needs more food right now.

today's menu
1) 10 pecans/ chai tea w/1t HC 2) 1 egg plus a yolk fried in 1/2 T butter/colby jack cheese/2 strips bacon 3) lemon truffles from earlier post: 2T coconut manna/lemon juice &zest/truvia- rrrrich! 4) 2 1/2 T cream cheese/celery stalk/12 toasted pecans(ants on a log style) sooo good only 4 meals because of decadent egg midday meal 921 calories 82% fat terri, the pizza was really really good. will be doing again! As for time, I'd say 3-5 days. They say no more than 5. But have read others have done for up to a week. I'm doing 4 days so that I can have my p2 chili for super bowl! But I can see that I will be combining this w/ p2 and p3. It breaks the food monotony -- but best of all, it breaks the stall! |

Your food ideas are killing me! #4 is a keeper for me too.
This might be a little high in calories, but I was thinking for a "meal" like dinner with the DH 1/2 head lettuce, 1 slice bacon, 1T sunflower seeds, 2T caeser dressing = 325 calories, 30 grams fat, 83% Does this work? |

High Fat - Low to No Carb
Great idea - I would just change the lettuce to 1 cup which is about 1.6 carb where a half head is 11.6. So says ****** anyway. I think the lower your carb-the faster/more weight you will drop. Here is the hardcore food ideas for fat fast from Atkins:
one ounce of macadamia nuts or macadamia nut butter, two ounces of cream cheese or Brie, one ounce of tuna or chicken salad with two teaspoons of mayonnaise served in one-quarter of an avocado, two deviled eggs made with two teaspoons of mayonnaise, two ounces of sour cream and two tablespoons black or red caviar, two and a half ounces whipped heavy cream topped with sucralose zero-calorie syrup, two ounces of pâté (check label for fat content), two egg yolks (hard-boiled) with one tablespoon of mayonnaise No veggies - I throw my celery stalk in because I need a conduit for all that fat! I put the tuna, or egg salad or cream cheese on it----it is 1.2 carbs for 1 stalk tho' -maybe I'll switch to a lettuce leaf which only has .4 -- just found that out! Atkins modifies the fat fast in step 2 by adding a few calories-- Two: Modify the Fat Fast -If increasing the fat-to-carbohydrate ratio and cutting calories work, any dietary change in that direction might get the job done. Next, you can try four meals a day of roughly 300 calories for a total of 1,200 calories. That should work, too, and what it allows is definitely more appealing to the taste buds: two ounces of beef chuck (do not drain fat) cooked in two tablespoons of olive oil two scrambled eggs with two strips of nitrate-free bacon two tablespoons of full-fat sour cream with a tablespoon of sugar-free syrup one-quarter cup chicken or tuna salad made with two tablespoons of mayonnaise three ounces of pâté (check label for fat content) one-and-a-half ounces of macadamia nuts : --still no veggies---it's FAT FAT and more FAT hope that helps. Choose your carbs carefully -- ceasar is a great addition--but what would we pour it over? Nuts?? I bought a full fat dressing- ranch parmesan but not sure where I can use it! Maybe I'll try a tablespoon over macadamias. Find my self wanting savory--that'd do it. |

Oh, I checked on nuts; these are counts for 1 T each:
sunflower seeds - 1.1 carb 73% fat pecans- 1.3 carb 87% fat macadamias 1.3 carb 88% fat So you'll want to stick with higher fat choices--there are carbs tho' so be careful. I lost another pound today, was hoping more but it is my TOM, so will see.... love the bacon and caesar combo. Going to try finds a mock salad choice. Will let you know if I have any luck! |

Okay I'm in! Thanks for all your great advice and inspiration. I was going to wait until Monday, but I cheated badly last night and was up 3.6 this morning.
I know a lot is water (hope so anyway ) but just the push I needed to get me going. Made a Havarti cheese and pesto omelet and hit the road. Planning tuna salad for lunch and libby's pizza for dinner. Will post stats at the end of the day. Thanks again! |

Feeling much better today. Last day of fat fast which actually has not been horrible! Nothing like the first two weeks of induction. I really haven't felt hungry or craved sugar at all but tomorrow will tell if it is all worthwhile when I weigh. I feel much thinner and my face looks thinner but for some reason pants still are fitting weird. When I loose I usually loose all over not in just one place, this may sound silly but is it possible that I recently (about 4 months ago) got a seditary job when I was use to being on my feel all day and that my hips/butt has spread?!? The dreaded secraterys spread?!? I hate sitting all day, my tailbone hurts, I feel lazy, and its just uncomfortable but it is what it is. Everyone have a great day!
Oh Yea got my nutrition order last night jammed packed full of coconut oil (first time to try), cheese chips, low carb chili (that other posters swear by), almond flour (what to do?!?) low carb bbq sauce, and sugar free carb free calorie free peanut butter that I put in a shake this morning! Fat you messed with the wrong girl, I am ready to kick your A$$ |

So what to use for salad instead of lettuce and greens -- found this:
1 cup alfalfa sprouts - .7 carb 1 cup watercress - .4 carb 1 cup celery -3.6 carb 1 cup broccoli 5.8 carb 1 stalk of celery is 1.2 carbs will probably stick with it or switch to lettuce leaf for .4 carb But water cress is good--don't love sprouts. But watercress, bacon, pecans, and caesar--Wow! Need to go to market! |

Chicken works - 2 oz. chicken and 1 T of caesar is within the 200 calorie range(189 cal). Smallish portion but I bet good! Throw in some crumbled bacon and have a little less cream cheese or whipping cream later.
I would think you would lose with coconut oil here. If you have no carbs - you will burn fat. Any of these foods eaten any other way would totally make us gain. I'm trusting it based on so many others testimonials - and it's working! Your snack bars sound amazing. I can't wait for P3! You'll have to share some of your P3 faves for when I get there. Another few weeks. I think we have similar taste buds--hahaa! Check those chocoperfection bars out, too--Netrition(strictly for P3). Tasted them... divine. And you're slim - did you see the post where I copied from another blog- on page 10 I believe, the gal was slim, too, and she does this once a year for one week. Just to keep in check. She says she loses 8-9 pounds every time she does it. Can't wait to be there! |
