Need help

Sorry if this is out of place... I'm new to this whole forum thing. I'm in P2 and am quickly approaching P3 and am so fearful of ruining the progress that I've made. I have a few questions...

1) Can weight loss be attained normally after HCG. This is my first and hopefully only round. I was hoping to just lose my pregnancy weight and then lose the rest of the weight I had the old school way. Is this possible, or do you have to continue doing HCG to lose weight?

2) How long is Phase 4 and what exactly is it? From my understanding it was like prolonged maintenance. But what if I don't want to maintain and want to lose weight?

3) How many grams of carbs are we allowed to eat on P3? I'm looking forward to being able to eat regular foods but don't want to go overboard and gain weight.

4) Can we use Atkins induction recipes on P3?


If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it!

I have not tried anything else after HCG, but plan on using HCG to get to my goal weight, so I will have to do 5 rounds, maybe even 6 rounds to get to goal. The choice is yours. There are so many options. If you want you could look into some other diet methods, such as Atkins or JUDDD. Those forums are on here too. I have tried many MANY diets, but I prefer HCG to them all.

2) How long is Phase 4 and what exactly is it? From my understanding it was like prolonged maintenance. But what if I don't want to maintain and want to lose weight?

During Thanksgiving and Christmas, I made Phase 4 (P4) for 6 weeks. The minimum is 3 weeks. A lot of people maintain their weight using P4.

3) How many grams of carbs are we allowed to eat on P3? I'm looking forward to being able to eat regular foods but don't want to go overboard and gain weight.

There is not any number of carbs given for P3, but you cannot have any sugar or starch (except naturally occurring in low carb fruits). There is a thread here that has good P3 tips: Phase 3 information for HCG diet I follow more of an Atkins Induction food list while I'm in P3, except I don't count carbs.

4) Can we use Atkins induction recipes on P3?

Yes, but there is a little more freedom than that. For example fruit is allowed in P3, and there isn't a limit on the number of ounces of cheese you can have in P3. I will tell you I tend to gain with a lot of orange/yellow cheeses in P3.

Just remember to weigh daily, and be patient with maintenance P3/P4 because that time period is intended to help us learn how to make this a lifetime approach.

Tia, there are some amazing recipe websites. A few of my favorites that you can google are Your Lighter Side, Linda's Low Carb Recipes, Sugar Free Low Carb Recipes, and All Day I Dream About Food. I go to these sites daily.

Yea that's from last Monday LOL...I lose more inches than pounds but this time I have no idea what's going on (not questioning either!) but I'm shedding inches like crazy

I'm sure I will stall in a few but I'll take it while it lasts. The doctor at the clinic was kinda like...you sure you wanna do 40 days? You're gonna look like a stick by then... I said..why thank you lol

Round two sucked so bad so I am happy this is working out...feeling a bit better...I just hate how the rx makes me so moody

Theresa that is why I went with the rx this time...haven't felt hunger, don't have food obessions (hehe) and while I am a moody hot mess, the above is worth it. Most days I just don't want to eat and sometimes take 45 min to finish my meal. I think I'm just bored...my palate is craving avocado, olive oil, chicken wings, steak and HEAVY CREAMMMMMMM!!!!

While the rx is expensive to me it's worth it and now I kick myself for not having done it last round...but ah well...we all had sucky losses last round lol

I've never tried to lose old school way post hcg. I personally didn't want to try after learning how successful hcg was.

Some will skip phase 4 and cycle back into phase 2 after phase 3. Some have great success doing it this way, others do not. It is called Cycling. Phase 4 is supposed to be 3 weeks. However, there are many clinics out there that only do phase 2 & phase 3. The OWL clinic does not do either. They do phase 2 only as long as it takes for people to reach goal then they move straight into maintenance.

3) How many grams of carbs are we allowed to eat on P3? I'm looking forward to being able to eat regular foods but don't want to go overboard and gain weight.

We don't really count grams of carbs while on phase 3. The rule is no sugar & no starch. However we can eat dairy which has lactose sugars.. how much is a very individual thing, and we can eat fruit - lower glycemic fruits are best. You will know when too much dairy or too much fruit is too much for you when you gain.. then you correct the gain by doing a steak day.

4) Can we use Atkins induction recipes on P3?

Yes, but AI is quite strict. Some follow AI for the first few days - 1 week of phase 3 then add back in more fruit & dairy than AI allows.

Phase 3 is best started by increasing your phase 2 foods: more protein, mixing veggies & adding more of them, and adding in some quality fat (butter, coconut oil, olive oil, etc). High fat dairy is often added with success too: whipping cream, full fat yogurt/greek, full fat sour cream, full fat cream cheese. Some folks really struggle with cheese so I usually tell folks to start out with no more than an ounce or 2 a day and increase it gradually to see how much your body can handle. Nuts can also be really problematic for some.... both from the aspect of portion control AND because they contain both starch & sugars.. but in natural form along with fat.

I usually tell folks to focus on fat, protein, veggies, fruit, and dairy and in that order. BUT we are all very individual people. I've met some that do GREAT in phase 3 by focusing on fat, veggies, fruit, protein and dairy.. in that order. Others are protein, fat, veggies, fruit and completely cannot handle any dairy. We are each unique and have to find the food balance that works for US. That is what phase 3 & phase 4 are really for. They are the journey of finding out what your personal food balance is so you can maintain your weight long term.

I am SO tempted to go to my Dr and pick some up tomorrow after work...what do you think it would do if i switched to the rx after only being on the hhcg for 5 days??? I hate to waste the money...but i don't have time to not lose? I will see what the scales say in the am!

Theresa... I really do not think it will hurt at all to switch. Many do. If you want to just go for it... it will give you a very clear picture of which one works best for you.

Theresa- Wow! I had no idea you've been through all those surgeries! I knew you lost and gained (like most of us), but good for you for taking control of your weight again!
I truly hope when you get to goal, you don't
have to go through that again, and WOW, talk about supportive parents! My Dad told me I needed to gain the weight back or I would look like a shriveled up prune! Thanks Dad! I think he always preferred the heavy look on women. Tomorrow's the day, your gonna have a great loss!

Highlights & BB! Lucky girl, I need highlights again too, but I'm trying to find a new style first. Want to go shorter, I live in a ponytail (great for work) and barely ever fix it. Seems the only way it looks good is to use hot rollers, and I'm over them already! Can't wait to see pic's!

Wow! That's some serious inch loss! Great job! I hated the "being cold" too! I did both of my rounds Jan-March when it was cold, prob would have been better over July & Aug when it's 110.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day today! Work was super super busy then I went to grab some spices then off to the gym. BF is making buffalo chicken pizza tonight for din din. I really like when he cooks but it takes him FOREVER and we always end up eating super super late because he's still new-ish to cooking. I usually try to eat before 8pm and he's still at the store now... lol. He's making the pizza crust with eggs, cheese, coconut flour and flax. YUMMM. Any bets on what time it will be ready? It's going to be wonderful

I totally want to see more pictures of ya'll!! Post em up ladies!! Maybe I will too

Good morning everyone!!! I'm up super early, woke up and it is pointless to go back to sleep for 30 mins!

I STS! 274! 8lbs of load weight and after two vlcd STAYED the same!!! I "teeteed" a LOT yesteday and even had another visit STILL didn't see any of a loss!

ok, bbs when i get to work! I think i'm going to call my dr to get the rx!

Hey Jeanette! Ok, so i'm officially freaking OUT! i am on a deadline! don't my inconsiderate fat cells realize this???????
I have one of the highest drug tolerences that my doctors/surgeons/dentist has EVER seen...it would not be possible for me to do drugs...i couldn't afford them! I don't know enough about the hhcg...could it be possible my body just needs the stronger dosage of the rx? It makes no sense what so ever to not have lost anything yesterday and only .4 the day before?!?
Now, i did add some of the walden farms chocolate to my strawberries last night and had caramel in my coffee....so willing to give those up if they are culprits...but there is nothing in them!
I don't eat my grissini ever...and had two fruits yesterday, one the day before. I was under 500 cals both days (by about 20-30 cals) OMG!

I'm going to call my doc today to see if i can swing by and get my rx today.....i'm on a mission!

Wow! GO Girls! So great to see a new low weight on the scale! R3 ended up being the same amount of loss for me as R2. It was quicker the first week but slower the 2nd two. So keep it going and get down! Jeanette - Looking good lady!

I'm up 1 pound today...I guess it was the cookie and kids ice cream I had a CFA last night! They gave us free dessert on the house b/c we're their favorite customers! UGH! Anyway, going out for Mexican tonight...Eating pretty light for the other meals today and will prob get a taco salad tonight and have 1 small drink. Tomorrow is my first UD on JUDDD. I'm really going to give it a shot!

B - 2 scrambled eggs w/ 1 tsp cheese, 8 almonds, hot tea
L - 2 slices of lc pizza & maybe a small salad
S - sf jello
D - chicken taco salad & small marg

I've decided to try to stay as LC as I can on JUDDD for now. I feel all fat and bloaty when I eat carbs. I also get a tummy ache. I'm going to start working out to my BIggest Loser dvd Monday! Can't wait to get toned up and maybe lose some more weight!

so after a horrible sleep, sore muscles, and no bernice...198.5! I can't believe it! I think I'll be ok. so a fat fast is on the back burner for a little while anyway. I'd love to get to the lower part of my window. I have a big yoga workshop tomorrow, so that should make for some nice GAIN on sunday, hah!

Theresa- Crying here for you! Don't let this get you down, your body has no choice but to kick in ad lose! I know your stress, try to relax and work the plan! The WF could be the culprit too, I used them but only about 3 times in 40 days, b/c warns they are just full of crappy chemicals and don't work for some. Hope things get going for you soon!

Jeanette- you KNOW it's the sodium, and your body catching up! Don't let it get you down, the inches are moving today!!!

Sunny- Good luck today, your gonna impress! 130's are coming for ya!

Natasha- Doing great! I still can't believe what you can eat and only gain 1lb! I eat a Tblsp of kraft mayo or ranch and gain that! Can't wait to see your results with JUDDD!

The LC pizza BF made for dinner last night was AMAAAZING!! I walked him through most of the steps and gave pointers but he still did everything! I think we finally ate around 11ish or so though - tooo late but oh well. Up 1 today to 160.5, that's ok. Keeping it simple today, it will be a long night tonight so it'll be another late evening dinner (maybe) and getting to bed at a crazy hour. We have a lacrosse game to go to then a concert that who knows how long it will last. At least on Saturday we can relax - no big plans besides random errands and such. Hope to be back in the 150s again soon!

Tonya - This is what I've added so far in my NINETEEN days of P4... the rest of it has been all LC (P3 friendly)

2 meals with Dreamfields rotini
2 sugar free margs (baja bobs) (probably P3 friendly)
3 bloody marys
3 meals with corn chips/tortillas (fajitas)

umm.. that's all I can think of... Wow I'm a REBEL!

I might not be a good person to follow.. Maybe I'll take YOUR lead!

I have been searching on the web and I found the only difference in the RXHCG and the HHCG is thr RXHCG doesn't come from humans. SO I just wanted to let you know what I have found. I don't mean to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong. The reason I have been searching is because I start on Tuesday next week and wanted to know which to order.Th RXHCG is 70.00 or more most places.From a regular Pharmacy I have no idea.

Oh yoga!!! That would make me happy right there! I just bought a groupon for 8 sessions...only way i can afford it! I don't care if i gain w/ it! It relieves so much stress!

I wish i could have the wf stuff...it helps w/ my coffees...but will cut them for sure if i need to. I didn't add them until last night...so it still seems a bit odd. I haven't checked in to bc yet...will do that tonight when i get home.

sigh....i have no choice but to give them a chance!!! My docs office closes at 1230 today and I'm at work till 4. sigh.....so i can't get the other stuff till monday. HOPEFULLY by then my body will realize we are on a deadline here and get movin'!

Could it be worse than where HHCG comes from? It comes from pregnant women HCG is only in pregnant women.

Berta, well, yes and no! ewww gross, don't want to think about it...but know that if you are ever trapped on a deserted island, you COULD drink your own urine up to 6-7 times before it begins to become toxic to your system.....just an fyi should anyone ever need to know! BUT I don't want to think about it coming from an animal! lol...i don't know why that freaks me out more! Why can't they make it in a lab?!?

I am SO stinkin' mad right now i could SPIT!!!!!!!!
I had a group of students come to me yesterday upset. they heard from a teacher i was leaving....i asked to not tell anyone else (student wise) I wanted to and should be the one to tell my students i am leaving...she said she didn't tell them (lie) they must have over heard it from teachers talking....well, today i had several girls come up to me completely upset.....mad and hurt that i was leaving them. I had to remind them that they are leaving for the middle school...but I know they would come back to visit...i still have students who msg me that are now freshmen in college! I asked how they knew...they relayed exactly the same scenario the other group had relayed to me....she did in fact tell them! Why lie about that??? It is not her place to tell my students i am leaving!

ok, thanks for letting me vent. I hate this time of year anyway....it always breaks my heart when i have to let students go....but this is totally final....unless they attend the University of Texas!

So sorry about that. Guess you really never know who you can trust. Maybe you should have told the Students first

Did you know that some hormone pills are from horse urine?
My old DR(she quit private practice) took me off mine.(I don't remember the name of them) and she put me on hormone Troches.They are made up in a Pharmacy in KC Missouri O'Brain Pharmacy. They are put under your upper lip and just let them dissolve.I take 1/2 of one 2X day.

How are you liking HCG Diet? I start Tuesday(that is when my HCG will be here)Actually it wil be here sometime Monday but UPS always comes later in the day so I will start Tuesday.I am excited yet nervous too.I have been on every other diet out there I think to no avail.
My Thyroid is messed up. So I'm praying this time it will work

I have gained 3lbs these last three days I was trying to loos weight at a Diabetes Plan on Spark People and had lost six lbs this month.But since I am starting HCG I guess I just thought I would take it off quick. SO I went back to my old eating habits these last few days
