Well, I tried to do the fat fast again and got hungry - so I made zucchini pizza and will eat as much fat as I can while doing low cal and lots of water. I may do a steak day tomorrow to finish it off downwards. If I can just make it thru the weekend! LOL

Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement. I was afraid to weigh myself after my first day of p3, but the next morning I hadn't gained any weight!! How awesome is that?

Today we had company so we ate out. I had two things that are low carb (Cobb salad & a sugar-free mocha made with half & half) that I ordinarily wouldn't have chosen this early in p3. It'll be interesting to see if I maintain after that. I should also check to see if they knocked me out of ketosis.

I've been dry-aging a steak in the fridge just in case. If I have to do a steak day, I'm going to enjoy every bite.

I wasn't very hungry yesterday, and didn't eat much (didn't even have dinner!). I went out to see a couple of friends' bands' play last night and had a total blast! woke up at LDW with a killer PMS headache...ugh. and today, all I wanted to do was eat, and I ate quite a bit. TOM should arrive probably tomorrow or monday. almost makes me not want to weigh!

speaking of cooking and such, I made my no-chocolate flourless chocolate cake. and I mean flourless...no nut flours or coconut flour either! it's made of eggs, butter, cocoa, vanilla and sweetener, and it's DELICIOUS!

felina, enjoy the fat! your body sure will.

c'marie, I hope your body stabilizes soon and with a lot of calories somehow!

You are doing great! Hang in there! That steak sounds delicious! YUM! Just remember you don't do a Correction Day until you are 2+ pounds over your LIW/LDW. Your body does naturally lose and gain with foods/sodium/cycles, etc. So don't freak out if you gain a few!

Starrrrrrrrrr! you've got to post recipes EVERY TIME! I just saw a flourless recipe but can't remember the site. Send it on girl! Please!

So, I was up 3.0 to 185.5, which is still below my LIW window (with 184.0 being my LIW), so going to increase fat/protein today and see what happens. I'm not going to worry though, because it doesn't help, and may even hurt! Get tomorrow off, so I have breakfast planned with one of my former parents (her daughter was like my child, and it was devastating when she passed away in December 2009. I had been her teacher for 7.5 years...). I like to keep up with her because we were so close, so I'm looking forward to that. She has a new grandbaby, and that's helping her a lot.

Hugs to all my bcf's!!!!!

Ok SO I'm at 145.6 Today...but I don't consider it my weight BECAUSE I have not been to the bathroom since Thursday evening!!!!

I went from food poisoning agony bernice time to...nothing...lol...nada...zip zilch!!

I ate steak last night which is super heavy on my tummy so if I don't go to the bathroom I always have a pound plus gain.

So now the question is....what do I do? I just got over food poisoning and for the first time since Tuesday my stomach is not having spasms...so I don't want to take smooth move especially since I am taking antibiotics.
Ahhh!! Help I feel icky....

Good Morning!!!

Well after my first day on p3 I was almost at the end of my window, but thank to you guys I didn't freak out and kept following the plan. Today is my day 6 and doing good. Yesterday I added a bit of dairy (like 1 or 2 oz of cheese) and my weight is ok. Today I add a bit of almond butter and tonight it's ladies' night out so probably will have a glass of wine... I'll see tomorrow where these additions put me at.

Have a great day you all!

Sunny, I would not take SM. I would eat some roughage and give it another day. Maybe something with flax. I am in the same boat except I didn't have the food poisoning. Our intestines tend to freak out easily. Drink lots of water and caffiene tends to hep me!

Good morning! Jeanette, I am on 'P3'...the quotes because I am trying to drop these last few pounds without hcg during P3. Shame on me. I have a reserve bottle of hcg if I need it, but if I go back to it, it won't be until after St. Patrick's Day.
I discovered sweet potato fries last night - we went to Red Robin, so I got the sweet potato fries instead of regular fries or a salad. Holy cow were they delicious! I liked them because they didn't have cinnamon and sugar on them like most I've had (and didn't like). Going grocery shopping and going to buy some frozen ones, I think...

You're so cute: "Shame on me." One of the things that has helped me with hcg is learning how to maintain. That is as important as losing, if not more so. Please take care in how you do with this, I know you will....

I've heard mixed reviews on carbquick. Have you ever tried it? I am going to make Chicharron Pancakes

I found them on Jules Food Blogspot
"CHICHARRON PANCAKES
4 large eggs
2 Tbls. heavy cream
2 Tbls. water (plus more to thin)
1 Tsp. vanilla extract
3 Pkt. Splenda
3-4 ounces of crushed/ground pork rinds
1/4 Tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp pumpkin spice
I'm going to add 1/4 c of oat fiber to give it a more cakey taste - I will let you know how it turns out

Use a food processor to get the pork rinds down to a fine, almost powdery consistency.

Beat the eggs then add the cream, water, and vanilla extract and beat some more. Mix the Splenda with the cinnamon and then add that to the eggs. (Mixing the cinnamon with the Splenda before adding helps to keep the cinnamon from clumping up as much.) When well blended mix in the ground pork rinds.

Let the mixture sit for a couple of minutes until it thickens. Then stir and check the consistency. It should be thick, but not to thick to spoon easily. If too thick, add a little water. i found that i needed to add quite a bit of water and maybe a little more cream. If too thin, add a little bit more pork rinds, but i doubt it will be too thin. now go ahead and make your cakes as you normally would. i found that spreading them out with the back of the spoon as they hit the pan helps. they shouldn't be too thick...do a few testers.

as i said, these keep in the fridge and are great warmed up in the microwave for a quick bite." as quoted by the author....

I tried the Oat Fiber Pancakes from Ginny's Low Carb Kitchen Blogspot, and they were too multi-grain tasting for me.

I have breakfast planned out with friends, so I'm going to bring my own pancakes/sf syrup and order eggs and bacon. If they turn out good. I just realized I don't have any HWC, just used the rest in the SW soup you're making Natasha!

OOOOOHHHH! That stuff is good. I cut half an avocado, and poured the soup on it - BIG TIME YUMMY! I used ground turkey, and I didn't have any cans of beef broth (I only have the 32 oz carton) so I added 2 cups, and it was very tasty! I'm definitely making that again!

Sounds delicious! If it gets you going, it will prove to be the right choice! You were so close already! It's going to be great! I bet you will weigh less tomorrow. That's how strange these things work.

I want to make the pork rind recipe but I'm out of HWC (oh the horror). I don't want to run out and get it so does anyone have any ideas for substitutes? I saw you can use milk and butter. I have some half-n-half, so I could add butter to that...please share your thoughts....

It's only 2 tbsp so I would just use the half and half. Or do you have evaporated milk?

Thanks Erin! I found a different recipe that I made. I ate two pancakes (each with 1 T of sf choc. chips ~ hope I survive the malitol). They needed more sweetener.

I found them on the recipe board here (in breakfast section like page 10):

Ingredients:
3 Large Eggs
4oz Cream Cheese
1/2 cup Ground Pork Rinds
1 T coconut Oil
1/8 cup EAS Whey Vanilla Protein
1/8 cup oat fiber
1/4 cup WATER
1 T of Xylitol (needs more)

How To Prepare:
1.) Put eggs in bowl and mix well
2.) Put Cream cheese in Microwave for 40 seconds to soften. (then mix in with eggs well)
3.) Mix in Pork Rinds, Oil, Whey Vanilla Protein Powder, Water, and Splenda...
4.) After mixing well let stand for 2 minutes....
5.) Cook on Skillet like any regular pancake.

Now this makes about 4 nice sized pancakes that taste good enough that you don't even need syrup... but i still use Walden Farms 0 calorie syrup....

I did test putting this in the fridge and using the next morning and it worked great (not sure how long ingrediants will keep fridge though)

Entire Recipe: (I made 5 pancakes and I added oat fiber instead of 1/4 c whey)
Calories: 1365/ Fat 100 / Carbs 9.5 / Protein 88

If you have a ninja (or other good food processor), you can make your own almond flour/meal. I do this all the time for my almond flour recipes. Just make sure you don't over process or you'll have almond butter....LOL!

Are you referring to P3? I would ask Shelby to chime in here, because I only use almond and coconut flours.

Yea, even though when I get to P4 I use oat flour, I still would like to know what other kinds are ok. They have some many at WF, flax, semolina, tapioca flours etc etc. and I was wondering what you'd use with those flours.

So still waiting....Bernice has just ruined my entire week I tell ya! Dang Salmonella!

Ok, Day....10

Well I am guessing it is either TOM or the switching from 10x3 that have slowed to a stall my weight loss, but then again it has only been one day, so today am going to switch back to 6x6 to see if that helps it back up, and I need to get me some smooth move tea or mag. or something I feel so constipated!

I know my TOM is coming....I was energetic with a side of ******y yesterday.
I had a late salad...like at midnight late. The day before I had dropped my weight loss from 1/5 to only a 1lb, and this morning nothing. I am not giving up, thou I am tempted to go get a sub and deal with it tomorrow. I am still hungry. But that is only TOM hormones, and i know it. So they won't get the best of me.

B: Coffee (with powdered creamer, had to have it this morning) one egg with 3 whites, scrambled with a drop of butter extract flavoring and sprinkled with popcorn seasoning nacho cheese!

L: Tossed salad and melba toast since I had my protein for breakfast

D: Grilled chicken breast, steamed broccoli, apple or maybe strawberries.

Best of luck to everyone today!!!

I made some waffles w/ the carbquik and they are pretty good but they end up being kind of dry. I need to take the time to read thru the Carbquik threads.

B - 2 square lc waffles w/ sf syrup, 1 sausage patty, 2 scrambled eggs & sweet n spicy hot tea
L - cobb salad w/ ranch
S - apple
D - southwestern soup w/ some guac on side

Have decided I am ready get on the elliptical tonight too! Woo Hoo!

Oh...sweet potato fries are my FAVE...but I like them savory, not sweet (like you). I really only like them when I do them at home in coconut oil...so yummy! And really, no more carbs than an apple would have!

whoops, sorry for the post and run! this was another one of my eyeball-ish recipes.

melt about 1/3 cup of butter. add in 3 tbsp cocoa, 2 tbsp erythritol or xylitol, and about 1/16 tsp powdered stevia (NOT from a packet, it can't be bulked with anything), and 1/2 tsp vanilla. give it a taste, it should be quite chocolatey and not too sweet, but still sweet. adjust cocoa & sweetener amounts accordingly, if need be. separate three eggs, add the yolks to the chocolate mixture. whip the whites until stiff peaks form. fold the whites into the chocolate mixture (or vice versa, just get them in there and don't overmix!). pour into a greased pan, bake at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until set. have with whipped cream.

anyway! I'm having a real h-e-double-hockeysticks of a monday. awful sleep, didn't weigh thanks to slugging back a glass of water without thinking, plus tom is being a jerk, waiting and making me bloat in the meantime. I can see where I'm holding water, all in weird places. BAH. and i'm hungry! maybe I should have some nice cheese with my whine, HA!

hope you're all having a good start to the week!

Constipation is definitely the bane of any diet, and seems to be even more so with the VLCD and low carb. Good luck!

You're doing great, so hang in there. Sometimes there will be a stall or even a slight gain, but do not panic! It's just part of the process. You have to look at the overall picture, not just day-to-day. I would have to be stalled for MORE than 6 days to do an apple day...even the sound of it makes me feel queasy!

Love love love the SW soup, it's so good! I'm having it again tonight. I might make another batch for work this week. Hang in there, I'm sure the pounds will go down in a day or two. I like how we're learning to relax and not panic over every ounce (well, not online anyway....)

In P4, this is going to be on my list! I like 'em sweet! I can't wait. Two more weeks until P4!

Sending you hugs! The worst part to me is being hungry! I just put the sharp cheddar up after making those deviled eggs (and boy are they delicious - I will never make them the old way again)...because I love cheese, and it gets me into trouble! Thanks for the recipe! I only need to know what size pan we're talking about...YUMMO!
