I gained on a chicken day?!

So I'm a bit disturbed... I've done chicken days before and lost weight each time... This time I'm up!

Background (so maybe you can help me solve this mystery):
I was up after a trip to Disney, where I ate mostly food I brought, plus some meat-only meals (half rotisserie chicken no sides, non-breaded wings with ranch), and I didn't indulge in goodies til the last 24 hours (some bbq sauce, pizza, ice cream cone). I got home and began trying to bring my weight down (from a disturbing 7 lb gain!) with a steak day, then egg day, then chicken day. It was coming off slowly (much slower than I'm used to). Then I tried plain P3 foods for a day (no fruit) and lost a little more. Still not down all the way, I did a Steak Day, only lost a few tenths. But at least everything was headed the right direction!

Then I did another P3 day, eating very similar to two days earlier. I gained 1.5 lbs! I thought my Chicken Day yesterday would have given me a whoosh at last, but instead I'm up .3 today! It's not TOM. I can't figure it out! And these last two days I actually had BMs, after being constipated while I was minimally losing! I'm currently doing a steak day, hoping for the best tomorrow. Anybody have thoughts on why my body is doing this?

One more thing... My stomach felt a little off this morning, and I've been feeling terribly big, like my jeans are tighter. I haven't been sick in a while, but I'm wondering if my body might be fighting off a very mild bug... Would that cause extra water retention? It seems like drinking 14-16 cups of water a day should keep me from retaining, so I really cant think of anything else... Aside from dmil visiting this weekend... I didn't think I was stressed, but could that do it?

Blah... I really feel just plain big and bloated, especially around my midsection....

Any bloating of course is water retention. Intestinal upset always brings water in the bowels. Stay the course.

Thanks for responding, C'Marie.

I wish I could figure out how to get my body to just let go!

I'm not necessarily sick of correction days, but I would like more variety in my diet then just chicken or just eggs... At least I get an apple on steak days, but I find myself craving veggies! If I could just have a ton of warm veggies with melted butter... spaghetti squash... zucchini... cauliflower... string beans... I can hear them calling my name!

If you are just trying to get down, and not using a correction day THE DAY you go up above your LDW by more than 2.0, then I would do some "lean" days. For me, those are what I call P2++ and that means P2 foods, double quanities, and add 2 eggs for breakfast, and a teensy real healthy oil for salad dressing etc. Nothing else-no nuts, no dairy, only a teensy sprinkle of cheese if you have to on a salad. And a TON of water. I do those in between correction days to get down when I have to.

So for a change between correcting days, I'll basically be eating low fat, moderate protein plus simple veggies... I can try. After those 3 correcting days in a row, I really just wanted a cheeseburger and salad! But I can change that to lean steak or poultry.

I have been trying to figure out fats... I think my steak days tend to be fairly lean cuts plus the apple, but egg and chicken days seem to be higher fat because I use butter and sometimes mayo on those days... So this gives me a little more direction for the in betweens. I hope I can see something moving in the right direction tomorrow, but unfortunately I feel bloated and like I'm still not urinating as much as I usually would before a whoosh.

Do I need to introduce a new type of correction day to my repertoire?

Have you tried the Greek Yogurt and berry day? Full fat GY 32 oz no sugar no flavors, but then you can add stevia or real vanilla or another sugarfree flavoring if you do those, and then 8 ounces of no sugar added berries of any kind - eat all through the day, break it up however you like.

Are you reading my mind? I was thinking mixing veggies was ok but thought I'd check this morning... You confirmed it already!

We've got turkey in the oven, some turkey neck soup on the stove top (just making some broth) with celery and onions in both. I really like making a gravy out of a little broth with the puréed veggies. And yeah, I'm not worrying about turkey not being P2 friendly because I'm not on P2 and I guess I'm a little rebellious!

Tonight may be a slight issue, as we have been invited to someone's house for dinner... We'll see what happens, but I'm gonna try not to sweat over it and hope for some low carb options.

I tried Greek yogurt once and really didn't care for it, but I'd I found the right flavoring, maybe. My biggest issue is finding full fat - it's scary how much yogurt is at the store and every one of them is low fat or fat free!

Oh yeah... And that steak day brought me down 1.8 lbs! That's my biggest single-day drop since the trip! Good... But I do miss those 2-4 pound whooshes I used to see!
