FIVE Days at the same weight

I have been the same weight for the past 5 days now, and it happens to be the weight I stabilized at after my last round. I gained an extra 6 pounds before this round (long story), so that plus the two with loading is all I have lost so far on D13 of hCG.

FIVE DAYS!!! Yikes. I know I have to just keep forging ahead, it is just so discouraging to get on that scale and see the same darn weight.

Sigh.

Set points are tough.

I'm at a set point myself right now. I'm trying to up my water, which is hard for me. Other than that, just patience, and maybe try some different choices from the list, or change up your eating schedule to confuse your body lol. Hang in there and good luck.

I am trying to increase my water intake. I have even been visualizing a lower number on the scale!

Ah, I guess I'll just have to be patient. This makes my purposeful but out of control gorging and 6 lb weight gain prior to this round all the more painful. With an 8 pound loss I would have been TWO pounds from goal weight (I think--unless those saddlebags are still there.)

Dang setpoints! (Although I will love that setpoint when I am at goal!)

I'm right there with you too! Day 4 of being 164.4. To my knowledge, this isn't a set point for me but I'm thinking maybe I'm right around my ideal weight since 165 was always my "good weight" since highschool. I'm having a horrible time with hunger, grumbly tummy and dizziness so I'm going to up my protein and stick this thing out until Monday (VLC without pellets).

Been there done that. Just keep on keeping on and relax about it. If you allow yourself to become frustrated you can cause a hormone cascade that can make the stall last even longer. You will win the battle and losses will pick back up on the other side of the set point. Hang in there.

Been there. Done that. Bought the T-shirt. It's just part of the process. Just hang in there, keep your eye on the big picture. It works. Think about the awesome skinny jeans at the end. You can do it!

Yeah, it seemed like when I focused on the lack of loss, it made it worse. Like your body knows you're obsessing about it or something. If you are doing everything you can, and you are following your plan properly without cheating, it's best to get your mind onto something else if you can. (I know - easier said than done).

Thanks, ladies! I love this group--so supportive. I've decided I will not become totally despondent if the scale refuses to budge tomorrow. I've got to keep thinking long-term.

Thank you all so much!

And remember, you can lose a ton of inches during a stall - that has been my experience, anyway. Take measurements, try some previously snug clothes, see what happens. I second the advice to chill about the scale and take a zen approach to the whole thing

Not that it's completely necessary if you choose not to but there's always an apple day. You're eligible for one at this point. Effectiveness might be questionable but they DO work for some people.

FINALLY...a 1.2 lb loss after 4 days at the same weight! Now I have to decide whether or not to stop on day 21 (Sunday) and do the two days of VLC no pellets OR shoot for my goal of 160. I just can't decide if getting to that exact # is really that important to me

Nicole, if it were me and I was as close as you are, I'd hold on for my number. I mean...why not? It's a great number and is one you liked well enough to pick...and you're really close. Can't be all that much longer now that you've passed that stall.

Yeah, I guess you're right. My only thing is that I want to make sure whatever # I stop on is a # that I'm at for a few days. No use getting to 160 for a day and stopping since I did that last time and never saw that weight again. UGH...I'm just feeling SO freaking done with P2 right now

Yeah...I would go a couple of days past 160. I know that "done with P2" feeling very well. But...just as a nudge...if you really like the sound of 160, then be done with P2 forever...and just do it now. Get 'er done, and be done...don't look back Go forth in the wonders of a paleo world and never think about pellets again.

I agree with you, Nicole, don't "hit and run" on a goal weight. So.not.worth.it. Hit and stick for a few days, or be prepared to give it up. That's my experience, anyway. Whatever weight you stop at, let 'er settle for a bit.

UGH is right. I am cranky as all he11 today mainly because of P2 and how slow this week has been. Hopefully tomorrow and Sunday will show me a decent loss or two and give me the motivation to press through 'till Wednesday with official P3 on Saturday. But to be honest, I am not sure I'll make it... I am just in a funk and need to pull up my big girl panties and suck it up. Seriously--it's just one more week, right?

I'm tired of NO movement - 1.2 Sunday, 1.2 Thursday - that's all for the past week - ugh. 2.4 in 7 days averages .34 - ugh. Still 5.4 from where I hoped to be next Tuesday - I SHOULD keep going - but if I am still not losing for days at a time, I think I'm done and I'm sticking to 135.

I'm chugging along...my number is 135..don't think I'll get there since I'm on day 20...but I'm doing 20 more days (nuts I know) because if I don't I'll be upset that I gave up and never know if I could have done it...

To me, it's like well I made it this far, 20 more days isn't gonna kill me

And see, that's the difference between my last round and this round. My last round was 63 days and I felt exactly how you did--I made it to 20 day so I can do 40. I made it to 40 days so I can do 60. BUT, this round I DO feel like it's gonna kill me at this point (VLCD 18)!! LOL

LMAO! Thanks for the pep talk! If I knew these last 3.2 lbs would come off in 5 days or less, I'd definitely stick with it. But if I stay the same tomorrow (163.2) and even stall for another 3-4 days like I just did and then drop 1 lb, I'm STILL a little over 2 lbs from 160. What if that's the pattern I keep following??? It could seriously take me another 10 days to lose 3 lbs
And honestly, I really can't do this for another 10 days. I can't explain why this is so hard right now. I can say that I am craving fat extremely and have been tired/dizzy often. Not sure if it's totally mental or if I really am at my ideal weight and my body is revolting. Just going to see what happens in the next two days and go from there

fair enough...just one thing...are you sure your pellets are working? (the fatigue/dizzy thing) and do you take some B-12? Coz I wouldn't have been able to get out of bed without that.

I wish the inches were going someplace, but I'm not seeing it. Sigh. Hope to see some movement soon. Today is SEVEN days with no movement to the scale, and I'm starting to feel very tired.

I thought about the apple day, but I just can't do it. I eat an apple every morning for breakfast and I'm starting to get sick of it. Although if I do not see any movement tomorrow, I think I'll just have to buck up and do it.

I agree--stop at a weight your body has stabilized at. My best P3 & P4's were when I stopped at a weight I was at for about 3 days.

LOL, me too!

SEVEN days with no weight loss. R5P2D15 Weird that the scale is stuck at that same number. I probably need to drink more but I'm starting to feel the overwhelming fatigue I usually feel at the start of the third week of eating very low calories. So close to goal, and now I feel so far.

I planned an interruption after the 23rd day of hCG so I'll look forward to that and see if things pick up after the interruption.

I have no choice but to forge ahead because I don't want to screw up losing the stupid weight I gained purposefully going overboard during the holidays.

I can only guess that my body really needs convincing that this weight is not my setpoint anymore.

hang in hang in hang in

drink drink drink

I was at my big steenkin set point for a whole week...stay clean and drink and I bet it moves tomorrow. Are you taking any B vitamins? If not...do that, especially since your energy is starting to flag. I always felt crappy while I was stalled and then great as soon as it broke. I think it was just all part of my body's fight to hang onto my lbs.

I hope you see good news in the morning!

Oh, that's so good to hear! I do take high dose B's but I am hoping that when things start to move again, I'll feel better.

I just found this in P&I (it's truly amazing how many times I have to re-read this little manuscript, and how much valuable information is in there):

Reaching a Former Level
The third type of interruption in the regular loss of weight may last much longer - ten days to two weeks. Fortunately, it is rare and only occurs in very advanced cases, and then hardly ever during the first course of treatment. It is seen only in those patients who during some period of their lives have maintained a certain fixed degree of obesity for ten years or more and have then at some time rapidly increased beyond that weight. When then in the course of treatment the former level is reached, it may take two weeks of no loss, in spite of HCG and diet, before further reduction is normally resumed.

This is me exactly!

Thank you all, for your kind words and support. I really could not continue with this protocol without you!
