Hey everyone!

I have read up on everything! Been busy today! So sorry for those of you who are sick. Melanie, star, Nicole, I am right there with you. I can feel a cold coming on and I really don't have time for it. Hoping we all feel better soon.

Mini, i hear ya with being tired of dieting. I can see how your body might be "done" for the moment and need a little break. August you said is when you started? WOW!! You are a champ! I hope that you can find what you need.

agentventi, you look FANTASTIC!!! When I did insanity last year, I weighed more, but looked and felt smaller. That is why I am exercising again so hard. The scale isn't moving, but I do feel better. I think once you are done this round you can get your workouts up and going and get your lean look you are wanting.

Hi to everyone else that I didn't mention. I hope you all had a great day!

Cool! Then I have no worries about you! KUTGW.

Not you too! This is like an epidemic! I'm going to have to be extra cautious when I'm out and about in this germy world. I can't handle another cold this season. I hope that all of you heal quickly!

I'm rogue in the sense that I'm eating more calories, but I've been sticking pretty closely to protocol foods. I did have broccoli one day as a vegetable, but that has been my largest deviation. I've also typically been sticking the melba.

Considering the fat fast. Been doing some research on it today. Still don't quite get how it works with hhcg, but might be worth a shot? I don't know.

Trisha -- the fat fast runs counter to a lot of what Simeons says about hhcg, but it does work for a lot of people. A few rogue souls have tried it -- it because it is such a lipolytic diet, it seems to get the fat burning off.

I lose a lot better when I am eating fat, most especially coconut oil -- it seems to be about the only thing that DOES make me lose these days. I not only stall without fat (hhcg or no) but I feel horrible, too.

It might be worth a try -- works for some of us, and not for others. Since you are more or less stalling as it is, you don't have a lot at stake in trying it.

We'll see if this fat fast gets me anywhere -- I may need to drop the calories a bit more, but I am hoping not ... even very slow losses would be a huge improvement over this up and down stall business.

Thanks for the fat fast info Mini.
Oh, I did see you answered my question earlier regarding your classes. I'm a bit jealous, for a while I was teaching part time at a local college, but always was teaching the intro level psych classes and also an ethics class. Theories of Personality and Abnormal would be number one choices for sure!

A few more questions regarding the fat fast:
How long do you stay on the fat fast? I see online there are often recommendations, not to stay on it for too long.

With being on hhcg too, are there certain foods you do/don't eat? Or just the standard fat fast foods I see online (oils, dark meat with mayo, cream, cream cheese, egg yolks)?

I'm going to guess issues, of the uncomfortable times spent in the bathroom variety.

Morning ladies, and any gents who are out there (don't be afraid to pipe up, we won't hurt you). I can't remember if I posted yesterday. I was down 0.7 yesterday and 0.5 today. Aunt Flow is here for a visit so I'm not surprised my losses are slowed.

good morning! I'm hardly ever on here this early! Anyways, I've weighed (3 hrs too soon btw) and I'm down .1 ! LOL Thats it! I ate horribly yesterday and sooo much! I was hungry as all get out and just couldn't feel full or satisfied. I ate 2 bowls of special k AND a snack sized bag of fritos!!!! Its been awful lately with the hungries every single day.
I started a new bottle of drops today hoping that was the problem. I need the "no urge to eat" to come back. I like that feeling.
I was thinking of going off the drops to allow TOM to arrive, but decided to continue. He ont show up until I stop the drops and then its awful. Anyone else have this happen?
I'll be back later. Oh! I got 4 letters from my son yesterday!!! I guess they held them until he got to basic. And I now have an address to send this 5 pg (front & back) letter to! I wrote like 3 small paragraphs every day since he left! Yes, I'm a mom who misses her son ALOT! Hes my bud and my hang out pal. I just love him and I'm so proud right now!

I've been having raging cravings lately, specifically for fatty foods. Does anyone know how to curb the fat cravings? I haven't been hungry - as in I don't feel hungry just for food in general, it's fat, specifically.

VLCD 16 today and stayed at 164.4 for the third day in a row. I'm starting to feel intense hunger again and having some dizziness--this is the same thing that happened at the end of my 63 day round. I think my body may be telling me it's done LOL

I'm still going to stick it out until Sunday but boy am I craving FAT!!! Want to be sure to also stop at a weight that I'm at for a few days as opposed to doing what I did last time which was to get to my goal weight and call it THAT day and then jumped right up a pound my first day on P3 and never got back to goal again.

edtied: AH-HA! i found my journal for this fat fast. i DID eat CO.

i had:

coffee with HH
whipped cream
chocolate coconut oil candy
at the end of the day i had to eat some protein (cooked in a lot of butter) as i was already starting to feel yucky.

I have considered doing a fat fast, but never did it. It is hard for me since I don't eat dairy and I know I could do other things, but I don't think I would enjoy it. I hope that it works for those that do it.

I think the cold may have missed me. Was feeling a bit icky last night, but I woke up feeling better. Yippee! Was also down 1.5 this morning! BIG YIPPEE!! So I guess the EFGT worked. Gonna stick with those numbers for a while. I am keeping track on ****** and that is really helping.

Hello to all!

I love a good fat fast! Goodluck for all those that are giving it a try!

Let's see, my weight is up a pound. No surprise there. I was 140 this morning. I'm only guessing it's from me not being able to put the peanut butter down last night! That and the cold medicine. I'm not stressing it. I'm trying to remind myself that I don't have to lose I'm ok where I'm at and that it's all vanity at this point.

Cheryl, I wanted to say I admire your farm work! I love listening to your stories. When you write about it it sound so much more wonderful (rain, snow and cold included) then when I am out there doing it! I don't regret my decision on getting rid of the animals for the winter but I do miss them!

Nothing new and exciting here. Getting over my cold fairly quickly, thank goodness! I don't have much of an appetite today though. I only had my low carb yogurt and some nuts today. Just not in an eating mood. Dinner is porkchops and sauerkraut. While I find this tasty I have no desire for dinner. Give me some coffee and a low carb chocolate and I'd be happy.

Yippeio! That's fabulous, Tammy! He'll be thrilled to get your 5-pager, too. The doors of communication are now open! I hope the hungries settle down for you, but may I make a suggestion? I know you are the roguest of rogues (rice krispies, etc) but with all the carbs you are eating, that alone is going to make you hungry. Try to eat more protein and fat (if yu must) and steer clear of the simple carbs (ie JUNK.)

Another new Avi! Very nice. I'm glad you aren't coming down with that cold after all! Whew! Yippee on the big loss!

I'm glad you are enjoying my farm stories, Melanie. I hope others are, too. Don't want to bore anyone! So the PB gotcha! That is some tricky stuff to eat in limited amounts. It's one of my trigger foods, for sure.

That's great that the cold is already on its way out! I like your "dream dinner." If I could give up coffee, my sleeping might improve. But I have cut down to 1/2 caf! Actually, I mix 1/2 caf with regular and in my screwy thought processes I was thinking that was 1/4 caf but it's more like 3/4 caf, right? I used to buy decaf and 1/2 caf and mix those together, so that's why I'm thinking wrongly.

I've never had sauerkraut (hate the spelling of that word) with pork chops, only hot dogs. I'm pretty turned-off by pork chops these days. I remember the ones my mother used to make and they were so tender. The ones I buy are always tough as leather (except for that tiny little round area that is always scrumptious.) How do you cook your chops?

I'm only down a smidge today but sleep is still all over the place. Actually I really should have just stayed up when I woke at 0400. It's just that my day is so unbearably L.O.N.G. if I get up that early. I don't have a full life, as many of you do. It's just me and the dog (and the parakeets and the mice.) The earlier I'm awake, the earlier the dog wants to eat. Then by noon she thinks it's time for dinner. Today I fed her a scoop of kibble at 0400 and then I went back to sleep. Gave her another scoop when I got up around noon (I'm sure she thought it was breakfast, having forgotten about the 0400 meal.) Now she will be acting her normal self and want her "second" scoop around 4. She is a royal pain in my butt sometimes.

I am allergic to cats but I know, for someone with my tendencies, I really should switch to a cat after my dearly beloved passes on. I know they shed terribly and they lay on your pillows (and have been known to puke in our shoes when we were kids) but it might be worth a try. A cool cat can be almost as good as a dog. I've had some "cool cats" in my day.

I pet the barn cats and they haven't set off my allergies at all. I don't go and touch my face after petting them, but they don't seem to shed at all, being outdoor (barn) cats. Their coats are so thick! (So are their belly's.)

Well, have a good day, ladies. It's still windy and on the cold side here. I hear we have another cold front coming through but haven't seen the forecast yet. I think it's supposed to snow on Friday which is my next equine care day. Should be interesting! I swear. Every day that I go, the weather is different. This is not AZ!

At this rate, I am going to turn us into the hcg fat fasters! Lol!

My weird gain is gone -- 104.8 again this morning. I still have water retention lines in my legs, so I almost didn't get on the scale, but I am glad I did. The drop is nice, and reassuring, but I am not going to start getting really excited until I get below 104, which would be the mark of the stall really breaking.

I actually woke up without being particularly hungry for the first time in a while -- that was nice! Makes me wonder if the new hhcg IS making a difference.

On my fat fast days, I shoot for about 1000 calories, with the vast majority of them coming from fat.

I generally eat one meal of full fat greek yogurt, coconut oil melted with unsweetened chocolate and splenda ( I pour it in the yogurt and it hardens like magic shell) and some nut butter -- almond, or natural peanut butter, or whatever butter I have on hand. I generally don't eat for the rest of the day, but sometimes I add full fat coconut milk to coffee or tea.

I occasionally mix it up a bit -- this morning I had a mock danish (cream cheese and egg with splenda and vanilla, whipped up and microwaved) -- and added a sauce made from yogurt and coconut milk, and a dollop of almond butter on top.

I am going to make some coconut bark later, so I may have a piece of that too. Coconut oil seems to make me lose better than anything else out there.

Yes, too much coconut oil (or too much fat in general) can make some people's bellies mad -- it doesn't do that to me, but it definitely does to some people.

Nice loss, Gremom! Whoohoo for EFGT! (That's Eat Fat Get Thin, for anyone who doesn't know... ) I think that is my plan from here on in, with a few higher protein days thrown in for good measure.

EXCELLENT about the letters, Tay! That must be wonderful to get them!!!!

Nicole -- I definitely get that dizziness and fatigue and gnawing hunger if I do low fat for very long... my body just can't take it for long periods. Terrible feeling!

I do think you are making a wise decision to wait until you've held that weight for a few days though... otherwise it does tend to jump right back up for most people.

Be strong, and know that p3 is right around the corner!

I think I'm going to move over to this thread if you all don't mind. I am mostly following protocol with a couple of exceptions. I eat 4 oz of protein at a time and I eat venison and pork(lean) along with chicken and beef. I also eat a wider range of veggies since I don't like most on the protocol list. Up until today I was still drinking diet coke but I have decided to eliminate artificial sweetner for the time being. I've been on protocol(this round) since Jan 9 and plan on staying on until Feb 6.

Trish -- I totally buck the recommendations, and stay on the fat fast as long as I am seeing losses -- I've done it for more than a week straight before -- taken a day or two off -- and done it again.

It does stop being as effective for losing after a bit.

Thing is, I could literally eat this way indefinitely. It controls my hunger, I have good energy, my blood sugar stays stable -- it's a great thing for me. The only issue I do experience is a bit of constipation if I do it too long (due to the very low bulk of the foods involved) but that is remedied easily by a maintenance dose of OxyCleanse.

If I am doing it for long periods, I make sure I take my vitamins -- not a lot of variety in that diet!

I am actually considering a couple of "coconut fast" days -- I have done the days of just coconut milk (those are good for me) -- but fasting isn't something I want to do too often.

So, my newest harebrained experiment that I want to try is to do a day or two of just coconut products: Coconut bark, coconut milk, a little coconut manna. I'll skip the coconut flakes for now, since that is where the carbs come in.

I swear I could live with half of my diet comprised of coconut, and never miss the other food -- it's a running joke in our house. Forget paleo... I'm going for the "stranded on a tropical island" diet

Breathing is good! Breathing is excellent. Come back soon and tell us more! We wait with bated breath.

Mini, that's so funny how you are a coconut-a-holic. Life's simple pleasures! WTG on the scale drop again! Maddening when it goes up, isn't it?

Welcome, Cathy! I agree with Cheryl-- love the avatar!

HI Catjrow!!!! We miss you over here! Glad to hear you are "still breathing" and hope that isn't the best you can say for your state right now.... I know you've been struggling lately, and I hope you are finding some peace in that department!
