Thanks, ladies! I'm feeling good about my progress, and really very encouraged at how much of my muscle has stayed intact throughout this long, endless p2!

I think I am going for an egg day tomorrow, followed by a few days of protein and veggies... then I will repeat the fat fast.

Cheryl, next time we'll get one of me at the bottom of a push-up -- these were quickie shots, just to have some kind of progress marker.

I enjoy where I go during the workouts -- I find it deeply grounding, about as close to meditation as my "monkey mind" is capable of going. It's a really wonderful break from the rest of my life.

When I was sick, I learned that it is much more effective to go INTO pain, rather than trying to fight it -- once you go inside the pain, it is just another sensation that the body has, rather than a terrible thing.... it's hard to explain, and impossible to keep up on a full time basis (when one has chronic pain) but it does work -- it's a form of "mindfulness meditation" -- I scoffed at it at first, when someone suggested I try it with the Lyme pain... but then I tried it, and it actually worked well.

Riley -- hope you enjoyed your off-plan day! Good luck getting back on the wagon tomorrow -- I'll be right there with you!

One day off plan is not a disaster -- it's a hiccup, at worst... and sometimes is a benefit in the long run. Falling off altogether is a disaster, lol!

Thanks Mini! I don't feel TOO awful bad, as I've only gained about a pound from it (my scale sucks so it's not 100% accurate).I'm still down 8 pounds in 12 days but I think about what it could have been without the 'extras' I've snuck in! I am doing a fat fast today, it sounds right up my alley! My new motivation: new sneaks which I needed desperately so I am ready to start my Zumba again! Maybe next week I should look into getting another digital scale. My last one broke and just went back to our old dial one. Those things are awful!!!

Mini, I bet taking this round slow has helped maintain your muscle.

Cheryl- yes, I have Dh for a few weeks before he heads to the other side of the country for 5 weeks. We are still waiting to here about deployment.

I'm happy with my weight today. I'm still up a lot but I'm down almost 2 pounds from yesterday. I know I hit ketosis because my mouth tastes like pure metal! Hope to stay here for a while

Hope everyone has a good sunday

Yah for end of TOM. Down 2 pounds (125.8). Nice to feel less fluffy. I guess I can thank my cold too...hard to be that hungry (which is opposite of usual).

DS's fever broke overnight (whoop) but we're still staying home. Don't want him tempted to spend time with his best friend after and undo all of Dr. Mom's hard work.

Cheryl--Thanks so much for posting this...it gave me the exact info I need to try the fat fast today Oh and of course I lost a pound this morning...as soon as I had decided 160 was out of my reach this round LOL So now I'm hoping the fat fast will not only help me get to 160 but will give me a boost (physically and mentally) so I can reach my goal

After telling my boyfriend about the fat fast just now he says, "oh what the hell...just shoot for 150 now" LOL (he was kidding though)

I just eat and drink what I know I can.

I can't find the full-fat Greek yogurt in CT, either. And I have no inclination to make my own, even if it is simple. In fact, I've yet to taste GY so I'm just going to not give it a second thought.

How did you do them when doing Akins? Did you do just one day here and there to rev things up or did you do a period of time? I'd love to know! I'm right where you were. I'm in ketosis and I'm ready to rock and roll!

So, it looks like Monday is going to be my first fat fast day! I'm nervous! I'm kind of already fat fasting, eating the way I'm eating. But I will be very conscious of it and document everything, keeping the proportions right. So, is it okay to make the other 10% either carby stuff or should it be protein? I mean, I have been noshing on jalapeno poppers stuffed w/ cream cheese and topped with real bacon bits. Would that work?

And would things like a couple of fried eggs with bacon to dip into the yolks work? Or should there be more yolks than whites? I can do that.

I had it once and it was SO. DARN. GOOD. Super thick and creamy. I used to just mix HWC in the FF kind but it's not quite the same, the FF kind gets kinda watery. BUT, you should try it if you can ever find it! I love it!
Good luck on your fat fast, we should all have some interesting results to post this week! Maybe we should change the thread title to Fat Fasters! HA!

Hey, just wanted to pop in real quick. I started a really long response last night, but then my husband and I got in a LOOOOONG discussion and I never got back to my response and I've lost it.

Today my weight stayed the same. Hoping for another loss tomorrow!

Mini- you look AWESOME! I'd love to have arms like that. I used to lift a lot and was very strong, but haven't been able to in the past couple years. Just hasn't happened with a twin pregnancy being on partial bed rest and then 4 kids. AHHHH... maybe some day I'll get back to the gym. I never looked that great though! GOOD WORK!

I'm excited about people jumpin' on the fat-fast wagon! It'll be interesting to see how everyone does.

Nicole- Yes, I'll go post on the fat fast thread sometime later today, I'm also interested to read about other peoples experiences! Thanks for starting the thread

For now, I have a killer headache and I hardly got any sleep. My babies were playing leap frog all night long. I have a short opportunity for a nap, so I'm going to try to take one now before a baby needs me!

I'll try to post more personals later if I can squeeze out some time. Have a happy Sunday all

Morning, ladies! Thank you, Trish! I appreciate everyone's kind words!

I think I am going to hop over to the fat faster's thread, myself... although today is more of a regular rogue day for me, I still need to be where the action is, lol!

Nice drop, Paula! Glad the scale is treating you well, although I am sorry it took a head cold to do it!

I just posted over on the F.F. thread, and realized that I am still well within the EFGT paradigm for the day, although my protein and veggie carbs are a bit higher than for a fat fast.... coming in somewhere around 1000 cals I think... one meal today.

I only showed a .6 gain from yesterday's workout and mini-refeed -- given that I am sore head to toe today, I would have expected that much scale gain from the workout alone...so I am happy with that. Hoping I don't show a delayed gain, though... that does happen sometimes.

Yesterday reminded me how very much I miss my hard workouts.... I am really getting ready for this p2 business to end, so I can ramp up the gym intensity again.

I'll finish out the bottle of drops I just opened, since I did actually see a difference from those, and then I believe it is p3 time, regardless what the scale has to say.

I reserve the right to change my mind (as always, lol!) but seriously, enough is enough at a certain point... and I can always go back and do another short round if I feel the need, later on.

I am going to be purchasing some more hcg, assuming it is available in a couple of weeks when funds are there to do it... I want a safety net!

Wanted to work out today but never got the motivation to do it...have been cleaning house for 3 hours - no, it doesn't normally take me that long but have gotten distracted by so many other things today! Lacking focus so gonna have to wait til this week.
Also, I know that the FDA wants to end sales of hcg, but does anyone know anymore about it? I bought extra but thinking I want to buy even more - wonder how much time we have left for that?

I'd like to know more about this. My sister has fibromyalgia and if it's something that I can explain to her or if there is a link to a website that can explain it in more detail, I'd love to have it. Thanks, Mini.

I'll have to keep looking for it, then. It sounds like something I'd enjoy. Thanks for sending me "fat fast luck"! I am nervous about it and haven't done any "mapping" of my day yet for tomorrow. I didn't get an answer to my question regarding if Jalapeno Poppers would be okay, or if I should just focus on the cream cheese.

I don't think they will ever stop selling it. They will probably have to stop claiming it has any weight loss benefits. They've been saying it was going to be pulled from the market for a LONG TIME. I think it's a great marketing ploy. If I'm wrong, oh well. Life will go on.

I am ending up eating a bit more again today -- I got truly hungry this evening! Nowhere near yesterday's calories though.. probably in the 1200-1300 range today -- and now it is coming in 80% fat, or more.

P2 and really hard workouts just don't mix -- I think the hunger is from my body repairing muscles and such from yesterday -- the soreness is decreasing as the day goes by, but I'll be sore for another day or two to some degree. I've also been doing fairly physical housework today (cleaned all the bird hutches, some other house cleaning, etc.)

I doubt today's eating will hurt me at all, in terms of a fat gain, but it is definitely time to get back to losing tomorrow. I'll be on the run all week, so that should make dieting much easier.

I really just want to get to goal at this point, so I can call it a day for p2, and get back in the gym in a more serious manner. I'll still be watching the food intake really cautiously, but at least there will be room for a bit more with maintenance, I hope!

Cheryl, I will have to post a pic as soon as I figure out how. I did another interruption the other night to shake things up and it seemed to work! We went to this new sushi place (that wasn't very good), I went up 4.4, but was down 3 pounds this morning!

We don't have a union, but I'm in a specialized department and am hopeful they don't do any outsourcing, but there are no guarantees! Collections and Customer Service are going away I think.
