msgirl -- I haven't seen you be the least bit "unpleasant" -- honesty is appreciated here, and it is totally ok to vent your frustrations here -- we all do! And... we divulge about our inner lives, too -- some of us do that quite a lot! Paula's right -- it's healthy.
I don't know how long you've been following the thread, but you are in good company with the "all or nothing" mentality -- a lot of us have it, and stuggle to find a middle ground. I think a lot of us could be defined as "binge dieters" too. SO -- hugs, and thanks for your openness -- it is not only welcome, but appreciated. CONGRATS ON THE LOSS! I had a feeling that might happen after eating some fat!

Paula -- HUGE HUGS to you and your family -- that sickness sounds utterly miserable!!!! I hope you feel better very soon!
My loss from yesterday didn't stick -- I bounced up a full pound today -- but with all the changes going on in my body composition right now, I am not going to let that worry me too much ... things are changing for the better, but I am in a horrendously awkward stage at the moment. My upper body looks good -- I was fitting a jacket last night, so I was sleeveless in front of the mirror -- and wow! My arms actually look crazy ripped right now! I could use a little more muscle mass, but the muscles I do have are showing incredible definition. My lower body? Well, eek. It is flab, and skin, and more flab. Yuck. I look pretty good in clothes, but naked is another story altogether! I'm skin brushing, and massaging, and using supplements and creams for skin tightening and collagen production... and praying. One good thing, though -- my outer calves are starting to show real muscle definition -- now THAT is amazing. I have big calf muscles, but there has always been quite a bit of stubborn fat that clings there, too, making them look blocky rather than defined. I get decent definition on the inner/back of the calf, but the outside of my leg just resists defining.... so I am stoked that the muscles are showing through! I'm hitting the gym this morning for a good workout -- that can't hurt! As for the scale, it will do what it does, so I am going to try to make peace with its mood swings, and just move onward. At this point my body composition is a lot more important to me than a scale number, and I will base my goals on that, primarily -- I may still do a couple of coconut-milk fast days this coming week, since I will be busy, and it should be pretty easy to swing. |

SO, today I'm fighting some serious binge-demons. I had cottage cheese and berries for breakfast, eggwhite with veggies for lunch...good so far....until I spotted the rotisserie chicken. I ate a hunk of it, tasted good but wanted more so I ate SF sweet midget pickles. They are my savior today. Praying to get through the weekend...ugh!! This round is going to turn out longer than I thought. Mini, I may be asking your advice on a 4month round, LOL!
Although I should add that while I gave in to rotisserie chicken TWO days now (EVIL CHICKEN!) I have resisted 2 potluck days at work so far! And both times my FAVORITE dessert was there: oatmeal bars. So hard but so happy I didn't give in. Now I need to go throw out what remains of my chicken, poor dear.

VLCD 19 and stayed the same today (163.2). I had said that if I lost more today, getting my closer to 160, that I would likely stick this out a few more days to get to 160 but since I didn't...and could have another 4 day stall...I am calling LDW tomorrow morning and moving into P3. I just don't have it in me to stay in P2 for another week or more just to get down 3 lbs. There's always the chance I will drop 2-3lbs anyway doing Leptin

Soooooo... I'm becoming a big fan of this fat fast thing. Down 2 more pounds today!!!
I'm so excited about this success that I'm beginning to consider lengthening this round. Though, the problem with this is that I have a number of upcoming Social engagements that will make fat fasting difficult. hmmmm... what to do... |

Wow! I just had to scan about 3 pages of posts to get caught up from just being MIA yesterday. I am a slow reader so I really had to skim. I'm sorry for missing so many people in my personals.

with the temptations, so give yourself a round of . We lose a battle here and there but we will never lose the war!! ![]() That's all I have in me for personals today, ladies. I still have to write in my horse journal on my computer (I decided to start one so I could keep track of all my experiences from the beginning. I had to copy and paste many posts from LCF because I only decided to start it last week.) The snow storm seems to have wimped-out. It's very fine snow flakes (I prefer the big fluffy kind) and it's very light. It won't take long to clean it up but I have no desire to do so until maybe tomorrow morning, before I need to leave for my nephew's birthday party. (Which reminds me, I have wrapping to do.) I made more of my sausage and kale soup and I'll be in heaven eating that for much of the next week. (I'm on Atkins, in case any of you Hcg'ers are thinking it's something hcg-appropriate. It ain't! But it totally good for when you get to P3. Something to look forward to! That recipe is on my journal thread, in case anyone is interested.) Mini, sorry your weight drop didn't stick. My jaw dropped when I saw the 103.6 in your siggy. There is such a great time difference between us that I never know if it's from today or yesterday (when I've fallen behind.) Adios, Amigos! I must move on.

Nicole -- good call, I think. You are going to rock your p3/Leptin program! Congrats on calling it a round!
Tay -- excellent about the drop! (And super cute about the baby!) Riley -- I hope you won't need to do an endless round -- but you have my whole support if you do. I am seriously beginning to wonder if mine is ever going to end. I'm really not all that hung up on hitting a certain number, but I am hung up on getting rid of the currently gooshy fat that is looking so horrid. I won't be calling goal until that happens!! Honestly, I doubt maintenance will look too much different from what I am doing now, anyhow -- I'll enjoy a little more freedom to eat more, but I don't think my eating habits will change drastically, nor do I expect to feel dramatically different, so it isn't that hard to be patient. I feel good now, and my hunger is minimal most of the time, so keeping on going is not that much of a challenge. The one thing that really will change is that I'll be able to work out more aggressively -- but I am working up to that now, and that's necessary in any event. This really is a huge lesson in taking things one day at a time, and just rolling with the process as it goes. |

Good for you, Nicole! I'm sure you will lose those last 3 doing the Leptin reset plan. How does it feel? I need to hear from those of you who are pretty much at goal how it "feels"! I need something to internalize to help me get the last 1/4 mile. ![]() Quote:

Trisha -- WHOOOHOO on the fat fast working for you, and the nice drop! EXCELLENT!!!
Cheryl -- yeah, the hand thing was really scary. I had to take notes in class with my left hand, and that was extremely tiring. I can write with my left hand, but it takes a lot more effort and it is slow -- and my ability to make art was seriously compromised for a while. That was one of the hardest things I've had to face with this disease. |

I've eaten a variety of food... coconut oil, cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage, chicken thighs, a few nuts (pecans and macadamias). Not all of those foods in one day, it's been quite varied for me each day. I enter food into ****** before I eat it to make sure my fat % is going to be high enough. I'm no expert on this (minimonkey appears to be the expert on the fat fast - she's had lots of experience on it!), but I hope I've been able to answer some of your questions. I've sure enjoyed both the losses and the food more than I did on Simeons protocol food. |

I'm no expert on the fat fast, honestly -- just someone who has found a way of eating that seems to work for me. It's a totally rogue technique, so I think the best advice is to play around and find what works best for one's own particular body.
Even on the high fat days, my scale losses aren't linear -- but this last few weeks have yielded a lot of overall fat loss for me, even though the scale hasn't changed that much -- I will likely do another coconut milk fast in the upcoming week ... that treats me well. I also know I need to do a few protein days in there somewhere, since I am not getting much protein at all with the current eating plan ... |

I've heard of this but never really motivated enough to try it. As much time as I've spent on here today I could have gotten a batch made! May try sometime. I used to be obsessed with yogurt, I tell you, OBSESSED.

Ok so I know the whole fat fast thing has been going on in this thread but I have to say I haven't paid a ton of attention to it due to my intense focus of getting to P3 LOL Now I'm wondering if I should have paid more attention now that I see how it's working for you guys
Can someone give me a quick rundown of exactly how to do it? Maybe that would get me to 160 in the next few days! Thanks in advance to whomever can outline it for me! |
