msgirl -- I haven't seen you be the least bit "unpleasant" -- honesty is appreciated here, and it is totally ok to vent your frustrations here -- we all do! And... we divulge about our inner lives, too -- some of us do that quite a lot! Paula's right -- it's healthy.

I don't know how long you've been following the thread, but you are in good company with the "all or nothing" mentality -- a lot of us have it, and stuggle to find a middle ground. I think a lot of us could be defined as "binge dieters" too. SO -- hugs, and thanks for your openness -- it is not only welcome, but appreciated.

CONGRATS ON THE LOSS! I had a feeling that might happen after eating some fat!

Paula -- HUGE HUGS to you and your family -- that sickness sounds utterly miserable!!!! I hope you feel better very soon!

My loss from yesterday didn't stick -- I bounced up a full pound today -- but with all the changes going on in my body composition right now, I am not going to let that worry me too much ... things are changing for the better, but I am in a horrendously awkward stage at the moment.

My upper body looks good -- I was fitting a jacket last night, so I was sleeveless in front of the mirror -- and wow! My arms actually look crazy ripped right now! I could use a little more muscle mass, but the muscles I do have are showing incredible definition.

My lower body? Well, eek. It is flab, and skin, and more flab. Yuck. I look pretty good in clothes, but naked is another story altogether! I'm skin brushing, and massaging, and using supplements and creams for skin tightening and collagen production... and praying.

One good thing, though -- my outer calves are starting to show real muscle definition -- now THAT is amazing. I have big calf muscles, but there has always been quite a bit of stubborn fat that clings there, too, making them look blocky rather than defined. I get decent definition on the inner/back of the calf, but the outside of my leg just resists defining.... so I am stoked that the muscles are showing through!

I'm hitting the gym this morning for a good workout -- that can't hurt!

As for the scale, it will do what it does, so I am going to try to make peace with its mood swings, and just move onward. At this point my body composition is a lot more important to me than a scale number, and I will base my goals on that, primarily --

I may still do a couple of coconut-milk fast days this coming week, since I will be busy, and it should be pretty easy to swing.

Thats a wonderful success! And congrats on your drop todays. I wish the popcorn and cookies and cake would lose their hold on me, but I still have a terrible time resisting them, so I just try to avoid situations where I'll be around them.

Glad you aren't taking the gain on the scale hard. Though, in my opinion, it's even better to see those non-scale changes... muscle definition, clothes loosening etc.

SO, today I'm fighting some serious binge-demons. I had cottage cheese and berries for breakfast, eggwhite with veggies for lunch...good so far....until I spotted the rotisserie chicken. I ate a hunk of it, tasted good but wanted more so I ate SF sweet midget pickles. They are my savior today. Praying to get through the weekend...ugh!! This round is going to turn out longer than I thought. Mini, I may be asking your advice on a 4month round, LOL!

Although I should add that while I gave in to rotisserie chicken TWO days now (EVIL CHICKEN!) I have resisted 2 potluck days at work so far! And both times my FAVORITE dessert was there: oatmeal bars. So hard but so happy I didn't give in. Now I need to go throw out what remains of my chicken, poor dear.

VLCD 19 and stayed the same today (163.2). I had said that if I lost more today, getting my closer to 160, that I would likely stick this out a few more days to get to 160 but since I didn't...and could have another 4 day stall...I am calling LDW tomorrow morning and moving into P3. I just don't have it in me to stay in P2 for another week or more just to get down 3 lbs. There's always the chance I will drop 2-3lbs anyway doing Leptin

Soooooo... I'm becoming a big fan of this fat fast thing. Down 2 more pounds today!!!
I'm so excited about this success that I'm beginning to consider lengthening this round. Though, the problem with this is that I have a number of upcoming Social engagements that will make fat fasting difficult. hmmmm... what to do...

Wow! I just had to scan about 3 pages of posts to get caught up from just being MIA yesterday. I am a slow reader so I really had to skim. I'm sorry for missing so many people in my personals.

There was a chance my loss of function was going to be permanent... thank goodness that didn't end up being true.
OMG, Mini. I didn't know about that. How tragic that would have been for you, being so creative and ambitious. I'm sure you would have adjusted and been one of those people who learned to use their feet, but I'm so glad that it didn't come to that.

That's just the way it is for me. But, we are all lucky and don't have too big of butts/hips, so that's the trade off. I was reading an article about a non surgical therapy that kills the fat cells. Will try to find it. and post it here.

Found it - look up "coolsculpting." I might try it if I can find a place around here that does it.
I'm going to have to look up that one! Thanks for the tip. I used to be very fit, too.

On another note...I got the job I wanted! They told me on Wednesday and I got the offer letter yesterday. The pay will be lateral because I'm 98% of the cap (for now) so I may not see large raises, but I do make a pretty good wage so I'm not complaining. My hours will be M-F 8-5 and I won't be in leadership!!! My supervisor is happy for me and said he'd move too, but would take a cut in pay. He seems almost jealous and so does my other co-worker. I start February 1st and it's on the same floor I work now and only about 100 feet away (I work in a two-story call center). I told my supervisor that I'd do some of his stuff because he is so stressed out. The foreclosure department has been there a long time, but there's always rumor that certain departments will be sent to foreign countries. We lost a department that they moved to the Phillipines, but only a few were displaced and the company found positions for the others. I'm not going to worry about it....I've been with this company over seven years, have been in two departments that "collapsed" and they took care of me. I am so happy!

Congratulations to everyone....no time to read through eight pages of posts...have a great day!
Those are some great NSV (non-scale victories)!! I love when people say things like that. You must be looking mighty fine right now. Wanna post a pic? Congrats on getting the job!!! That is fabuloso! I hope it is as good as you think it's going to be. And I hope they stop sending our jobs overseas! Do you all have a Union there? Frankly, I think Unions are the biggest reason for out-sourcing of jobs in America. But I won't go there.

msgirl, you are almost there. Don't let today derail everything (maybe it was the shot in the arm you needed?). I will twist your husband's arm for you for eating that stuff in front of you. It's like blowing smoke rings at someone who's quitting smoking!

I am sorry for the length of this post but when I went back and read through all of your posts I realized this has to be where I belong. My husband described me as a "binge dieter" last week. He said my discipline is astounding but I eat excessively when I am not dieting and then diet excessively when I am trying to get things in check. Clearly, this is something I have to work on. I truly wish I could be more moderate - but my personality tends to be "all or nothing" on so many levels. Last night when I was bemoaning my frustration to him, he reminded me that I am "not fat." He said when people describe you they think of someone tall and thin and that's why they look at you like you are crazy if they think you are dieting.

But, I am not satisfied with the way clothes fit or the number. I know I am not "fat" per se - but I am not satisfied.

Sorry, just feeling the need to get all of that out.

I promise to divulge less from now on and be more pleasant!

On to a wonderful Saturday! I love my weekends!!!
Let it rain! We all do from time to time. Some of us do it on a daily or several times a day basis! You came to the right place. We are a "full-service thread." WTG on the scale drop! I'm sure you will meet your goal on schedule. If not, there's always time to chip away at what's left. (And I too am "all or nothing.")

So, for the most part, you are with the temptations, so give yourself a round of . We lose a battle here and there but we will never lose the war!!

That's all I have in me for personals today, ladies. I still have to write in my horse journal on my computer (I decided to start one so I could keep track of all my experiences from the beginning. I had to copy and paste many posts from LCF because I only decided to start it last week.)

The snow storm seems to have wimped-out. It's very fine snow flakes (I prefer the big fluffy kind) and it's very light. It won't take long to clean it up but I have no desire to do so until maybe tomorrow morning, before I need to leave for my nephew's birthday party. (Which reminds me, I have wrapping to do.)

I made more of my sausage and kale soup and I'll be in heaven eating that for much of the next week. (I'm on Atkins, in case any of you Hcg'ers are thinking it's something hcg-appropriate. It ain't! But it totally good for when you get to P3. Something to look forward to! That recipe is on my journal thread, in case anyone is interested.)

Mini, sorry your weight drop didn't stick. My jaw dropped when I saw the 103.6 in your siggy. There is such a great time difference between us that I never know if it's from today or yesterday (when I've fallen behind.)

Adios, Amigos! I must move on.

Nicole -- good call, I think. You are going to rock your p3/Leptin program! Congrats on calling it a round!

Tay -- excellent about the drop! (And super cute about the baby!)

Riley -- I hope you won't need to do an endless round -- but you have my whole support if you do. I am seriously beginning to wonder if mine is ever going to end.

I'm really not all that hung up on hitting a certain number, but I am hung up on getting rid of the currently gooshy fat that is looking so horrid. I won't be calling goal until that happens!!

Honestly, I doubt maintenance will look too much different from what I am doing now, anyhow -- I'll enjoy a little more freedom to eat more, but I don't think my eating habits will change drastically, nor do I expect to feel dramatically different, so it isn't that hard to be patient.

I feel good now, and my hunger is minimal most of the time, so keeping on going is not that much of a challenge.

The one thing that really will change is that I'll be able to work out more aggressively -- but I am working up to that now, and that's necessary in any event.

This really is a huge lesson in taking things one day at a time, and just rolling with the process as it goes.

Trisha, Congrats on the fat fast success! Have not tried it yet but want to. How many days now have you done? Is your plan to keep eating this way the rest of your round? And what does your menu consist of? Sorry for all the questions but want to go into this fully prepared.

Good for you, Nicole! I'm sure you will lose those last 3 doing the Leptin reset plan. How does it feel? I need to hear from those of you who are pretty much at goal how it "feels"! I need something to internalize to help me get the last 1/4 mile.

I am really going to sit down and make up a 1000 calorie list of things for my eventual fat fast. I have to give that a try. I am on Atkins so it might not pack the same punch, but who knows. It's was Dr A that came up with that idea anyway. Right? Think so.

Trisha -- WHOOOHOO on the fat fast working for you, and the nice drop! EXCELLENT!!!

Cheryl -- yeah, the hand thing was really scary. I had to take notes in class with my left hand, and that was extremely tiring. I can write with my left hand, but it takes a lot more effort and it is slow -- and my ability to make art was seriously compromised for a while.

That was one of the hardest things I've had to face with this disease.

This is currently day 4 of my fat fast. I lost 4 pounds after the first day, nothing after the second day, and 2 pounds after the third day. I'm on my 19th day of using hhcg and the original plan was to go into P3 this coming Friday. For now, the plan is to keep going on the fat fast as long as it's going to work.

I've eaten a variety of food... coconut oil, cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage, chicken thighs, a few nuts (pecans and macadamias). Not all of those foods in one day, it's been quite varied for me each day. I enter food into ****** before I eat it to make sure my fat % is going to be high enough.

I'm no expert on this (minimonkey appears to be the expert on the fat fast - she's had lots of experience on it!), but I hope I've been able to answer some of your questions. I've sure enjoyed both the losses and the food more than I did on Simeons protocol food.

I'm no expert on the fat fast, honestly -- just someone who has found a way of eating that seems to work for me. It's a totally rogue technique, so I think the best advice is to play around and find what works best for one's own particular body.

Even on the high fat days, my scale losses aren't linear -- but this last few weeks have yielded a lot of overall fat loss for me, even though the scale hasn't changed that much --

I will likely do another coconut milk fast in the upcoming week ... that treats me well.

I also know I need to do a few protein days in there somewhere, since I am not getting much protein at all with the current eating plan ...

Thank you! I am compiling all of the knowledge I'm getting from you and Mini. I am just so nervous about it, it sounds too good to be true! I bought a bunch of cream cheese yesterday, as I could eat that all day long. Still can't find full-fat Greek yogurt anywhere near me, !

And entirely sick of protocol food already! Even though I am not 100% protocol. I am still burned out from onion and tomatoes and scallops from my first two rounds. Ugh!

I was thinking about possibly doing an "egg day" in the future as well...I have always done well on those during maintenance. I think this round for me is all about experimentation. I don't have a lot to lose so I'm not quite as crazy strict as I was the first two rounds.

Make your full fat greek yogurt! It's super easy and as cheap as buying a small container of yogurt (as starter) and some milk. Another benefit, no additional fillers... you know exactly what's in your yogurt.

I've heard of this but never really motivated enough to try it. As much time as I've spent on here today I could have gotten a batch made! May try sometime. I used to be obsessed with yogurt, I tell you, OBSESSED.

UIL is the name for some academic (and other) school competitions. I have forgotten what the acronym actually stands for. The kids from several districts get together and compete. He was supposed to do spelling this morning. My DD did math yesterday.

His coughing is beginning to sound better... His fever has eased but we'll just have to see if it spikes overnight again. Dr. Mom is putting his butt to bed early again.

Ok so I know the whole fat fast thing has been going on in this thread but I have to say I haven't paid a ton of attention to it due to my intense focus of getting to P3 LOL Now I'm wondering if I should have paid more attention now that I see how it's working for you guys

Can someone give me a quick rundown of exactly how to do it? Maybe that would get me to 160 in the next few days! Thanks in advance to whomever can outline it for me!

Nicole - This is what Trishagrrl told me she does, it seems to be working quite well for her!

Mini said she eats Greek Yogurt and c.o. - her post is a few pages back. She told me she does 1000 cals, 90% from fat.

I'm trying it next week. I'm totally off plan today - which sucks, but maybe it will work as a sortof re-feed...we will see.

So just to be really clear...you eat 1,000 cals of mostly fat WHILE you still take your HCG? Just want to be sure since it seems to fly right in the face of Simeon's protocol with NO fat. A little scary to think of doing the complete opposite of what I've been doing the past 19 days

Speaking of burnt out...believe it or not I didn't eat 1 shrimp for the past 4 months after my last round of eating shrimp, tomatoes and spinach all throughout P2 LOL Never thought I'd not want shrimp!

So just making sure before I try this crazy fat fast---I eat 1,000 calories of mostly fat WHILE taking HCG???? What % of fat is ideal for the day?
