Mood issues on HCG?

You may have covered this somewhere else, but I'm fairly new and haven't seen it yet. I was wondering if anyone has had issues with being moody? I'm on day 5 of HCG, and have had some issues being really crabby. Not having any hunger, just wanting a few things I can't have.

It may just be that it's a holiday weekend, my entire family is home for a 4 day weekend, except for my mom (lives with us) who is in the hospital, and may be coming home tomorrow after a serious two week stay, and we had a blizzard (so I'm feeling quite snowbound)!

Just wondering what I'm going to have to deal with!

I've been a bit crabbier than normal, but I get than way with any low fat, low carb, low calorie diet for a bit. It changes your brain chemistry and hormones for the better, but the adjustment can be rough. I expect p3 will alleviate some of that, but I was a bear today!

Yep, I definitely have had that happen in the beginning of both of my rounds (and I am usually NEVER crabby!). For me, it was due to feeling hunger and seeing those around me eating whatever they wanted (especially my 3 boys who I have to cook for day in and day out!). I find it goes away around day 10 when I lose my hunger.

Same.
And around 4pm, in P2 - wow. Bring me a piece of steak or stay out of my way!

Okay - I must be the exception!

I feel so much better on HCG! I am not near as moody - not near as cranky and little things don't seem to bother me not to mention my energy level is beyond my expectations!

I am thinking it's one of two things for me:

1. I was super low in B12 and that was something my bodily clearly needed or

2. My hormones were out of whack and hcg seems to put them into a stabilizing manner.

No matter which or what it is - I am so thankful. It makes me not want to ever stop! If only I could eat high fat/low carb and still take hcg

It is hard when those around us are heating up their lunches and they smell so.... good! All we have is our limited choices w/ no sauces and NO dessert. It gets tough, but it is only for a short time and so worth it. Hang in there!

i have PCOS so i really think whatever is in the hcg is what my body might be missing
i feel fantastic when im on it
of course we all get the hungries and the poor me i cant have that
but thats all part of the journey and learning and controlling our wants and needs, like is it really hunger or head hunger
either way i sucks to be on any kind of a diet!

I'm usually weird, but . . . for what it's worth - on my first two rounds (Oct. 2010 and January, 2011) - I felt AWESOME on the HHCG - I mean, I am not a morning person, but I was up before the alarm everyday and felt great - instead of my usual morning groggy fog. Not so the next rounds - I don't think I'm worse than normal, but back to normal - lol.

I originally thought it was the HHCG, but now I think it might have been the excitement of losing the weight every day - couldn't wait to get on that scale. I will admit I thought I was going to cry last January at a Baby Shower we had for one of our teachers - I'm the librarian and everything is always held in the library - the theme - chocolate - everything was chocolate. I sat there with my Tervis Tumbler of water. I made it through though.

The first week is very tough and your body is adjusting. Hang in there; it is so... worth it in the end.

My poor family... Yes especially this round, for the first week I was biting people's heads off left and right. AND it turned out TOM showed up a little early, so it was like PMS SUPERSIZED. Once TOM started, though, (about day 6 or 7) I started to feel a lot better.

Thank you all for sharing. It helps to know that others are dealing with this also and it will pass. And it IS worth it! I know my weight loss will prob. slow down a little, but this is so awesome! I am truly amazed!

It will slow down, pick up, slow down, but just be diligent and it all balances out in the end for a great round loss. My past 2 rounds have both been 26 lb. losses.
Keep up the great work!

I feel great, but my husband is on edge! He stresses out so easy...football, kids, work...I gave him potassium and B complex this morning. I'm hoping it helps. Poor guy.

This is me, too. I have not had mood issues unless you count being HAPPY. This is on P2...now P3 I was HAPPY but I felt sickie ickie and I think it was something I was eating on P3 that I could not have on P2...but I have no idea cause I did not put two and two together until P2 R2.

All the happies could be because I am losing weight and feeling good (except I do feel hungry at the appropriate times and I still want to snack all the time). Also, I get irritated when my hubbie eats junk and loses but I know it does not work that way for me...because I ate so much junk in the past.
