Dinner temptations
How do you ladies have the ability to avoid the temptations while making meals for the rest of your family?
Do you make your food a totally differnt meal that you do for everyone else? I have been trying to just eat the same things they eat but make mine protocol. Last night my family had a chicken dish so I just made myself a broiled chicken breast and had a green salad with vinegar and lemon. Tonight they are having Salmon so not sure what I am going to fix for myself. |

Don't you decide what they will have for dinner? Perhaps focus their meals around yours.
Do you have white fish? How about more chicken? A lean beef? |

During phase 2? Completely different meals for myself. I chop up and weigh out all my protein and put it in sandwich baggies in the freezer, so I can thaw my serving for each meal. I don't taste while I cook for them, just rely on my nose or my husband's taster to season each dish, and if I'm feeling really tempted I chew mint gum while cooking. I wear gloves during prep and cleanup so I don't even touch it.
Because my brain has it not only listed as 'off limits' but 'hazardous' like an allergy, I'm just not tempted too badly. Knowing I will make my own meal after that also helps

I should add, I plan out family menus two weeks at a time, so there's no wondering what to cook or if I'll have ingredients for it. I just make what I listed, and my own meals are the only ones that take thought or creativity.

My hubby usually cooks, and since i am always dieting or low carb I usually make a big salad and add the protein, or just grill some chicken breasts for myself. Last night hubby and I had baked cod with tomatoes, I made pasta for the kids, and he had some on the side. Sometimes I make the shirataki noodles when they have pasta. 40 cal. for the whole bag. GL!

I make extra protein for my husband and we will have either veggies or salad, he may add bread to his meal.
I would just make their meals with the same protein and veggies that you are eating, it is only for 3 weeks. |

I agree with this too. I have a family of 6--I have 4 kids (2 teenage boys who can EAT!!!) and a DH to cook/bake for. I always say "If I can do this, anyone can" because that is soooo true. I try to avoid cooking things that I cannot resist, but I do the best I can. It kills me to watch them eat dessert. So sometimes I just have to excuse myself from the table while they indulge. I can only handle so much of that kind of torture. I have learned for me, that out of sight is usually out of mind. Last night they had hamburgers, but the night before my DS decided HE wanted pizza so they had pizza while I ate chicken. This is my 10th round, so they are sooo used to me eating something totally different then what they have. And when I am not on P2, I usually low carb so they are used to me not eating what they eat normally. And that will NOT change. My DH is Japanese and he loves his rice!!! And for me to not have it in the house would be unfair to him. I know he will NEVER go for that!! So I am the one who has to change, not him. When I started this journey years ago, my baby was at home with me and when you have to feed a 2 year old, they want to eat all the time. It was difficult because he wanted the Goldfish and yogurt and I had to feed him lunch......etc, but you get used to avoiding their food. I wanted the scale to go down more than I wanted to lick my fingers after opening or tasting his food. So I quit doing that early on and it got easier to not do. Like I posted above...If I can do it (and do it 10 times ) You can do this!!!!
