I called it a mini-interruption and my husband said it wasn't - I'm almost to goal and he said he can tell that things have really changed with my attitude towards food since beginning hcg. Years ago, I had lost 31 pounds with Weight Watchers and gained back 40.. That will not happen again and I already decided I'm giving myself an 8-pound window once I'm to goal (my favorte # and because I'm tall).

mini, my skin seems pretty tight considering the pace of my losses and the fact that I've chosen not to exercise at all while taking in such a small amount of food during P2. My belly may not be what it once was (after having a baby), but that's perfectly fine. This summer I can swim in our pooland am looking forward to buying a nice one-piece bathing suit. I don't believe in tummy tucks or anything like that to alter what God gave me. I'm a 34D so even with my boobs reducing in size, I'm still pretty stacked.

I took today off and wish I had the rest of the week off. Friday is my interview for the other position I applied for and I will keep you all posted.

I went through the clothes I've been hanging onto since 1999 when I gained all this weight with my pregnancy. In the last several months, I've donated a ton of clothes and am donating two more huge bags this week. They're all bagged up and in the car. I can fit into most of the clothing, but there are things that I know I won't wear again because my tastes have changed - so there's no point in hanging onto them.

Congratulations to everyone, welcome to anyone that's new and make it a great day!
Congrats on the progress you have made. It's great. Yes, every once in awhile we make decisions that we know will increase our scale day but our journey continues. Enjoy yourself while on your journey and it will make it easier. You are doing great and I bet someone else will need the clothes you just donated.

Thank you Hexa and you are right. It makes me feel good to know that someone else can use them.

phew. FINALLY relaxing. We got in at about 3:30am and I feel like I havent sat down since. I love vacation but I hate coming home from it! I did get a lot done, including taking the Christmas stuff down. Im going to relax with Dh for the night and prepare to start work again tomorrow.

I ate well today, a little higher calories since I had sausage for dinner with the family, but still LC. Im fasting tomorrow and Thursday to kick start this P2 and then Ill probably face the scale. I know im up, but I also know a lot of it is water

Off to read and catch up

I've been gaining fast all fall though, so I'm just starting the drops again. I have no illusions that it will be remotely by the book, but hopefully I can do it well enough to make some progress.

Today was my first low cal day and I ate: a few pieces of leftover fillet, a few handfuls of popcorn, a piece of ham, a handful of nuts and homemade chocolate truffle. Also a large granny smith apple. I think that was it. Not great but not terrible for the birthday party I went to. I was 183.5 this morning after two quality loading days, lol, and was down to 181 by evening.

Unfortunately, I have social engagements every weekend this month, so I'm going to try to keep it as clean as I can during the week and indulge for a meal or two on the weekends. Nice to see you all again!

ooohhh i see!! Thanks! So just curious if its not too much to ask, what would this consist of? Like whats the diff between strict protocol and rogue? Is there much diff? and what would make one not do the strict protocol? Is is depending on how your body reacts to the diet since everyone is diff? So sorry for all the (naive) questions...

have you read the protocol? if not, google simeons protocol or there may be a sticky at the top of the forum...hcg short form or something like that.

my rogue-ness would be:

eating more protein
eating 600-800 calories
mixing veggies
eating grains other than the ones listed in the protocol but not to exceed 100 cal
using lotions, etc
using regular half & half in my coffee, up to 1/4 cup or more if i have the cals to spare

just to list a few....

i do rogue b/c it's less restrictive. whether to eat protocol or rogue is personal preference.

Leigh. This is a great site and you will get all of the help that you need. The key is knowing your body and what it responds to and what it does not. Some can eat more protein than others and lose. Some can exercise and lose and some can't. Trial and error is the key here. Don't get discouraged if you don't lose for a day or gain some ounces. It's a journey and we are here to support you. Again, welcome.

Leigh. Everyone's plans here look a little different. I don't eat the fruit or grains on protocol but sub in a little fat and/or protein. I also mix veggies and use cream in my coffee in the mornings. I just started a new round and am actually going to cycle higher calorie days with fasting days. Like Hexa said, it's all about learning your body

Hi guys, thought I'd introduce myself since I'm doing a bit of a modified plan too. I haven't gotten around to reading all your posts, but since you're "rogue" I guess you're like me and not sticking strictly to the protocol.

I'm 51 yrs. old, 5'2", on R2P2. I lost 17 lbs. on R1 on the same basic eating plan as I'm doing this round.

So here's what I'm doing -- will see how it works out this round:
700-800 cal/day
H&H with my coffee --- every day (at least 2 big cups)
Veggies - all on protocol plus broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, brussels sprouts

The 500 cal./day protocol made me miserable (only did it for 5 days), but I feel great all the time with the extra 200-300. Hey, if I lose a bit slower I'm ok with it. I never would have done another round otherwise.

Whoohoo on all the donating of clothes, Violet!!! Doesn't that feel great?

Boobs are funny things... I've lost proportionately, but compared to the 32 F I used to be, I feel really small now (at a 28DD) -- but proportionally, I look just fine.

Good luck with your interview!

It's not protocol to drink most diet drinks, but I do. Never the caffeine ones (can't hack it!). So I would go ahead if you want.

None of us roguers are going to call you naughty if you drink it.

Welcome Leigh! There are no hard and fast rules with rogue plans -- I drink the zero carb rock stars with no problems, but artificial sweeteners stall some people... it's a matter of trying it and seeing what works.

Welcome home, Disney! I am fasting tomorrow too, so I'll be joining you there. I don't know if I will do one or two fast days, but definitely through tomorrow. I have been hungry today, and already ate more than I should have this morning ... fasting may well nip that darn hunger in the bud.

After the fast day/days, I am going low fat/low everything for a few days .... if that doesn't break the stall, I am doing a short stint on p3.

I doubt I will weigh tomorrow, but I will the following day. I will be getting a pretty scant night's sleep tonight since I have an early morning. Plus, that way any damage done by this morning's calorie-uppage will likely have been corrected.

I am having one of those "totally sick of dieting" days and I just want to whine. And eat.

I will whine, but I am not going to eat.

I don't really know what rockstars are however, try it and see how your body responds. Please, remember to drink a lot of water and if you find yourself drinking more rockstars than water you might find your body retaining water Like Mini said, some sugar subs. stall people and some it does not. I use Equal like it's being pulled off the market and it does not affect me at all. Overall, water is best but it is good to have some variation. It makes the diet/protocol easier.

Maybe some sugar free hot coco with some Sugar Free Di Vinci syrup will help you. When I am in a tiff anything chocolate helps me.... To think about it I could be happy, sad, awake, comatose and chocolate would help me Just put a tube down my throat, make sure it's warm milk chocolate and pump it in sister. WHOO-HOOOOOOOO

Hello there Roguies!!

I lost 3.4# on VLCD 1 and have the bulk of VLCD 2 under my belt! I felt great yesterday, no real hunger to speak of. It was the same today hunger-wise but I had a background headache (tolerable) all day.

Last night I was in the ER all night with my mom and I did not get home and to sleep until about 6:30AM. So, I did not get much sleep and I had to fit a whole day's worth of stuff into a much smaller window, including cooking HCG meals for 3 and regular meals for 3 - and long story short - I managed it all, stayed on plan and feel very VICTORIOUS!

So all in all, I am off to a good start and am feeling pretty good!

dazygyrl - congrats on your 3# loss on VLCD 1. That's the way to get the party started!

Trish - Just gotta say - those babies are soooooo adorable! Yum!

PaulaBob - I know you were here when 'we' first started this rogue thread from Deb's journal, lol. You are still here and maintaining WOO HOO! I am here again (because I left - DOH! and so I am starting over) Anyway, GREAT work!!!!! SO happy for you and I plan on following in your footsteps and going the distance.

Hexa - Congrats on that 2# loss and whoa - what a workout!!! Hope you find the right fatburner for you!

Cathy - Yay! 1.2# is great! Congrats!

Cheryl - I have not read your journal (yet) but *hugs* Wishing you Godspeed on your regrouping. Love yourself...life is a process and sometimes we've got the MoJo and sometimes, we don't. I really believe that the more you love yourself through it, the quicker it will pass.

Tammy - SO sorry to hear about that happening with your son. I hope that it all works out for his highest good and as quickly and easily as possible. I know that can just rack your nerves even more *hugs*

Violet Dream - Anything done consciously comes from a place of knowing yourself, your desires, needs and abilities - so you can't really go wrong when you are listening to your inner voice. life is a journey and a never ending stream of choices, the more of which being conscious the better off we and the world are! Best of luck on your interview. See yourself acing the interview and totally landing the job!

Disney Princess - Hope that you had a super fab vacation and best of luck as you head into P2!!

Mirroravoider - (though I am new to this group too, in a manner of speaking) Sounds like a great rogue menu. This is the perfect place for doing your HCG in the manner that best suits you!

OK, hope everyone's tomorrow is stellar! Night...

Just popped in to say HI and read up, before I get too far behind. Thanks for the input on my plan. I did decide to up my calories today and I came in just under 1000. We'll see how I do.

Regarding alternate beverages while doing hcg: I drink 1 12oz diet dr. pepper a day and have done that for all except my very first round. I don't think I could make it through my day without my caffeine fix in the afternoon (I don't drink coffee)! Haven't ever noticed any differences in losses with the addition of diet pop. I also aim for 1 gallon + of water a day.

Adrienne- Thanks! They are as sweet as they are cute too!

Alrighty... just got baby #2 to sleep, so I better get a bit of rest before one of them wakes up wanting to nurse again! Have a good night ladies

I really do appreciate all the info from everyone! B/c all the info is sooo helpful! Just a few other questions though sry! but some say they are going to fast a few days? do I need to do so? and I was going to ask i've been drinking at least 80oz of water or more daily, but I've been having to pee (sry for tmi) about once or twice an hour. With my job, when I go to regular shift, I can't be doing that. Any suggestions?

Leigh -- no, you don't need to fast -- a couple of us just like to do that.

A lot of people lose just fine all the way to goal, but some of us (me, for example) have stalled, and fasting is a pretty good stall breaker for me.

As for the peeing (no TMI, it is fine to talk about that stuff) -- there's not a lot you can do about that -- if you are drinking a lot of water, that will happen -- and also one tends to pee a lot when losing weight quickly. If you need to wait until later in the day to drink your water, do that ... obviously you have to be able to work.

For me, I gravitate toward rogue practices because I don't have the energy or concentration to count and measure and plan.

I did one round very close to protocol, and felt weak and exhausted by the end. Physically, I think I do better with more protein and 500 calories is a bit too low. Also I've found no bad effects to eating pretty much any low-carb vegetables in any combination, so I do that.

Mentally, focusing too much on the exact diet wears me out and gets me obsessing about food. Then again, I'm not pushing my body at all to lose. I could probably stand to lose 40 pounds, but the first 20 are a heck of a lot easier, and frankly, I'll probably be content enough with that. I simply don't have the drive that some of you guys do.

More power to ya!

Paulabob - WOW to your progress over the last two years!!! That took dedication AND smarts to achieve.

Good morning. Only have a second before my first kids show up. I'll tell you, I wasn't ready for the alarm this morning. Back to reality today, which is also including a fast day. I know I'm up some weight and I want to get it down some before I weigh. I'll weigh Friday and then I'm going to set some goals and move forward.

Hope everyone has a great morning. I'll check in later

I would call fasting an "advanced technique". I simply can't do it..my blood sugar crashes (even on zero carb). Anyhoo, to manage protocol though I usually wait to eat till 1 pm, and have dinner at 5:30 or so...that's often called a Fast Five.

For the pee issue...it's really good and means you are releasing tons of fat.

You might try a teeny bit of sea salt at the start of your shift. Just enough to keep you from heading to the restroom every hour...

Sorry for the ER trip!

& thanks, I certainly remember you & am glad to see you back! I miss Deb! I definitely wanted to LOSE and get to goal last year, but it wasn't in the cards for me - I'm hoping I'm healing my metabolism some right now!

That's so sweet! I would call it sheer dumb determination. It helps that I lose SO SO slowly that it's simply too painful to let myself gain any weight.

Still 127.2 today. Finally had a day under 1500 calories yesterday. It has been ranging from 1600-2100 the past two weeks. Eating my big breakfast now. The tank will be feeling stuffed till 1:00 or so.

mini, it does feel great to give back to the community. Those clothes I'm donating are in really good shape, considering how long I've had them.

Good Morning! R3VLCD39 and I'm UP 1 pound. Not sure why......the only thing I can think of is it's a delayed gain from my mini interruption the other night. I cut my water back (again)....can you believe I was drinking 5 quarts? That's 160 ounces and way too much (years ago, I somehow convinced myself that I need to drink a TON of water in order to lose and it's simply not true)...also it's in addition to my green tea, herbal tea and coffee.

Back to 100% protocol today (which is where I lose best and still feel great on). Thank you all for accepting me even though this is a rogue thread.

Back to work today and I feel , but I AM grateful to have a job. Congratulations to everyone, to anyone that's new and make it a great day!
