Going to my parents so they can see my son before he leaves for training. Time is flying, but I know he'll be back in 16 weeks. Its then that I'll really be depressed. He said he going to get me a smart phone so we can video chat. I'll take it! LOL
Well, I better go eat. No time for personals, but I read everything. Have a good day ladies! BBL!
how many calories do you have on a FF day during P2? I've been meaning to ask this forever. I did FF days but kept my calories around 600, lately I've been thinking that's possibly not enough.

Whoohoo Tay! Glad the fat fast worked! I'm doing one today too -- but TOM may not allow for any drops till it gets rolling.

Star -- I keep calories to 1000 or less on fat fast days -- sometimes I go a lot lower, but it seems to work pretty well at 1000 calories for me.

The days I fast, I do full fat coconut milk throughout the day, so that is like a 300/400 calorie fat fast day -- and that tends to work really well in the long run, though I don't always see results right away.

I'm going to have to try one of these. I just always thought that (in Atkins) it was the absolute last resort for a stubborn stall. I have it in my head that it's not a good idea to do unless there's little hope without one. It must not be harmful because you do them so often and you are still alive to tell the tale! I wonder if I could do coconut milk.

Hi Ladies --

Just checking in with a quick hello!

Cheryl -- there is actually an entire diet based around the fat fast idea-- its the Eat Fat Get Thin plan. It isn't quite as high fat or low calorie as the fat fast, but one does get the vast majority of one's calories from fat -- and like Atkins, it actually tends to improve lipid profiles and such. There are a bunch of threads on here about it.

Pretty sure today's grumpies are hormonal -- I am keeping busy doing clothing alterations, and it feels good to be getting those done.

Still waiting 'til goal to do the really fitted stuff, but most of them can be done now and a few lbs won't make a difference in the fit. It's nice to see that big pile diminishing.

I am also doing things like sewing on missing buttons, making minor repairs, etc. Nice to have those clothes back in commission!

Looking forward to my roommate getting home and us working out - that will help kill the grumpies.

Sorry you are grumpy today, Mini. We all have those days! The always come for me during pms/TOM too. I think a workout will help for sure!

I have been able to workout for the last 3 days and I have forgotten how much I LOVE to get my body moving! Am gonna do Jillian Michaels and then hopefully start Insanity in Feb. The weight hasn't really budged since I have worked out, but that is normal for me. Clothes are fitting well. SIL got me some pj pants in meds and I had to go exchange for smalls. Gotta love that!

Great job Tammy! YAY!!!

Whoo hoo for smalls, Gremom!

I am hoping that the exercise doesn't stall the scale for me .. it might. If so, I will just be all the more diligent with the diet, I suppose -- but I know I will look and feel better if I am working out.

Wow, Stacy! Smalls is a great accomplishment! Kudo's!

Mini, congrats on working through that pile of alterations. That's great therapy. Enjoy your workout with your roommate! I have heard of EFGT before but I've never looked into it. Is it all that different from Atkins? Sounds like sort of a rip-off plan from Atkins. Maybe it came before Atkins and HE was the rip-off artist!

Good evening. Well I had a major chocolate/Doritos binge tonight I've been doing very well here but Dh brought it out and we ate it and watched a movie. Man am I going to feel like crud tomorrow going to chug my water and stay off the scale. Hopefully it didn't derail me too much. I'm just worried because tomorrow night we are going out drinking and then NYE we always drink, watch movies, and have munchies. It's going to be a rough few days until we go home and it doesn't help I know I'm dieting in less than a week- I kind of have the "who cares right now" mind set. I just don't want to undo my hard work.

Disney -- I hope that doesn't bite you too badly! I don't blame you for taking a break, though ... dieting does get old after a while.

I'm battling both hunger and cravings tonight -- that is also a PMS thing for me, so I am just going to weather it through. This is the toughest week of the month, knowing that the scale won't show me any love combined with hunger and cravings... harrumph. I will be good, though, and expect to be duly rewarded once TOM finally gets here. It is taking its time though. Grump.

I'm also not drinking on NYE -- and I think I will forego even the midnight toast... (I'll toast with something non-alcoholic) --

My determination and desire to get to goal is winning out over everything else, even if it is by a small margin sometimes.

I'd love to take credit for being a tower of dietary will, but actually the holidays, for us, were much like the rest of the year -- we didn't do much of anything.

There were plenty of goodies lying around that I avoided, but no social pressure to eat, so that was a blessing.

It'll be nice to have fewer goodies to dodge, though ... I'm generally not tempted to eat them, but I do have my momentary flights of fancy... thankfully they never make it beyond fantasy into action!

I ended up having a bit of a gong show day food wise today -- stuck to the fat fast proportions and legal foods, but definitely exceeded the 1000 calories... probably ended up at more like 1400 -- and I blame TOM even though it STILL isn't here yet.

I get much hungrier the couple of days before it arrives.

G-d willing, the next time it arrives I will be on P3 -- won't that be nice!!!

Aww, I'd be crying too! I think you've been brave.

Up a pound, after 2 days of too high calories. Going to try to "behave" today. Hard with too much stuff in the house and the kids here 24/7. The snacking monster got me last night...

Good Morning! R3VLCD34 and I'm down 1.6 even though it's TOM! Of the 4.6 I gained from my Christmas interruption day, 1.8 of that is gone!

Thank you Cheryl for your kind words (as always). My interview was okay yesterday. Our company uses these standard questions that begin like, "tell me a time when....." I was stumped on one of the questions too. The hiring manager was asking the questions and her work director was writing down my answers. They're both very nice, but the manager is very hard to read. Anyway, I did my best and when it was over, they both thanked me and stayed in the conference room looking at my resume. I always bring it to the interview and it surprises me how many people don't because they figure they submitted it with their application. They said their hours range from M-F from 6am-5pm and which shift would I prefer. I said M-F 6-3 and there may be some mandatory OT at times which I said is fine. I did mention my interview next Friday for the other department as well. When the manager asked me why I'm applying for a senior processor position when I'm in leadership - I said "to expand my knowledge" which is true. I told her how I notice there's little to no turnover in the foreclosure departments and after having been in two departments that collapsed - I want to find a "home" and want to retire with the company.

Congratulations to everyone and make it a great day!

Good morning. Well I paid for my binge in the bathroom early this morning I'm hoping since I'm not on hHCG right now I didn't do too much damage. Today will easily be another LC day. While I'm enjoying being "home" I'm ready to get back to NC and back to our normal routines. I'm tired and full!

Nice drop, Violet! And under all the stress during job interviews, too! I HATE interviews. I remember when things were nothing like that. I would essentially have a very relaxed interview (no phony questions like today) and know by the time I got home if I got the job. Those days are gone, unfortunately. And now it's all pretense and seeing how many times they can stump you. I interviewed for one job at a huge company and it was the only time there had ever been two people involved. One was on the phone and recording and scoring my answers and the other was at the table with me. I was completely uncomfortable and did terribly.

What you said about wanting to retire with the company was great. That shows you are looking for your last department and want to settle-in for the duration.

Sorry you don't feel well today, Jackie. It will get better. And soon you'll be back home and can get back into a controlled environment where you can serge ahead toward your goals.

I am counting down the days to Jan 1. Enough of the December madness! Time to put festivities behind us and motor on.

Barn day two today. It's not raining (yet) but may start later this afternoon or evening. Evening would be nice. I am ready for anything! Bring it on.

Afternoon, awesome friends o' mine!

The scale isn't really moving since I started working out, but really, I am fine with that. I love the way I feel after I have exercised and my clothes fit great. Friends were telling me last night that I was skinny. Oh, I can't wait til I think I am skinny!

Got in a good 40 minutes of circuit training this morning and have worked out for 4 days in a row now. Will probably take Sun off and then go for another 5-6 days in a row. That is the plan anyway!

Gonna go get the kiddos lunch and then more laundry. Oh the laundry in my house!

BBL!

Great for you Even though the scale is not moving, believe me the inches are. Also remember that muscle BURNS fat so, it is a double shot for you. In addition, the endorphins in your brain increase therefore, making on more happy and have an increase in energy. Work it out girl. Work it out

Minimo, how did your workout go? Feeling those muscles?

Cheryl, did you get your thigh high boots yet?

Disney, I hope that you feel better. It's a bummer to be on vacation and feel sick.

Went to workout today. It's always a mind struggle for me however, I was able to do a "clean press" of about 25 pounds. I was soooo happy. I love lifting. Initially, I think I walk in the gym apprehensive but, I pray first an then God helps me to do what I do.

Hello to everyone else. Laundry day before the New Years.

The scale hates me this morning, and I hate it back-- I am up another 1.2 lbs !

This absolutely has to be hormones, but TOM hasn't started yet ... so I am getting a bit worried on the weight front .... seriously, I generally don't just put on nearly 3 lbs without breaking plan.

I am not changing my signature weight because I am pretty darn sure this is hormones -- really hoping TOM gets here today. In any event I am staying off the scale for a few days ... this is depressing me. If I had indulged, I'd understand it, but I didn't --

AND, we didn't even manage to start working out yet, so it isn't that (that is happening today!)

Stupid scale! I will not let this derail me -- weight fluctuations happen -- and it is actually only 2.6 lbs all told, which is totally normal pms gain for me...

I think it is mainly frustrating because I was so good over the holiday, and I am still getting hit with gains. Once I know for sure it is TOM, I will feel better about it I think.

On a positive note, though -- scale gain notwithstanding, the muscles in my legs are starting to get really visible again. My calves are feeling hard and lean, and my quads are starting to show a lot of definition.

This is pre-existing muscle, just starting to show from the fat loss, and I like it!

Bring on the workouts -- that'll help my body image I think.

Yay -- we are hitting the gym in about an hour! I actually bumped up the calories a bit today (still fat fast food-- about 1300-1400 calories, all in the morning) and am hoping that gives my metabolism a little boost ... that, plus yesterday's increase, may really help things.... but that's it -- back to much lower calories after this.

I'll fast for the rest of the day, and I actually think there's a good chance I may fast tomorrow as well.

Its hard to weigh during TOM because it's an automatic 5 pound gain. The gain happens to every woman so, stay off the scale until it's over and you should see a nice drop.

Thanks for the voice of sanity, Hexa -- TOM gain is often at least 2-3 lbs for me, sometimes more... and I am pretty sure that is what is going on with me now, but since it hasn't started yet, I am doubting myself. But it IS due, and I generally gain before it starts.

I'm just being more neurotic than usual I think because I am so close to goal.

I'll stay off the scale and pray for TOM to start.

good afternoon ladies! I'm just down .1 and I think I know why. I ate eggs yesterday and put CHEESE on them! I was just thinking fat and added it. Oh well..... Plus my sleep was awful. I didn't go to sleep til 4 a.m. and was awake at 9. I went back to sleep around 10:30 til 1. Pretty much lousy sleep.

I've had those interviews over the phone and hated them. I wonder how they can really tell if they want you by just hearing your voice. Having no eye contact sucks!
I hope you get the job you want.

FYI, wanted to share I'm in my last pair of pants I bought last year for "goal". I haven't really lost more inches anywhere, but somehow they fit now (size 6 petite liz claiborne's). I love these they are above my belly button, always gives me less muffin top for my shape.

I can't wait to see what size I will be when I shift this last 15 pounds this year. I do want to lose another 2 1/2 inches from my waist (& even more from my belly). Guess we'll see what happens.

Time to look at last year's progress...only 22 pounds. From last year to this year:
Above Bust: 34.5 / 32
Bust: 39 / 35.5
Below Bust: 33 / 31
Waist: 34 / 30.5
Belly: 41 / 37.25
Hips: 42 / 38.25
Thighs: 22 / 19.67
Arms: 11.25 / 10.25
Calf: 14 / 12.75
Body fat: 33.4 / 28
BMI: 27.3 / 23.3

Anyone else want to share year end thoughts?

Hope your day at the gym was productive! I know you were itching to go! LOL
Your weight will go back down. I always think, there is no way I gained that much fat. Just keep doing what you are and it'll show on the scale.
