I just got home from the bar....WHAT A GAME THE HAWKEYES HAD !!! WINNING IN DOUBLE OT !!!!

today I made salsa COMPLETLY from scratch. right down to blanching the tomatoes. We make the salsa at the bar "homemade" on the menu....but I confess to using a canned tomato product and adding chopped japs, onions, and cooking it down.
I made this for dh actually. Added black beans, corn, pineapple, japs, onions, garlic, cilantro, salt & pepper.
NOW.....if I only knew how to can......so, I bought freezer bags instead......sounded a WHOLE LOT EASIER !!!!

Oh yeah....dh says it's EXCELLENT...

Sounds yummy!

I worked and then went out with friends and had a burger (gluten-free bun, at least) and sweet potato fries and a skinny margarita. I ate too much. Why oh why!? ugh. And my weight was already up. I'm going to attempt some kind of a correction day tomorrow. Maybe about a pound of bacon and some whiskey. Sound good?

Marie,I don't know about good but at least it's LC! It's really hard when we go out with friends,we wanna have fun and as my Dh said"dieting is NOT fun"We are all going to have those slip ups but as long as we get back on tract we WILL get this weight off It will just take a little longer

ok...so nighttime is NOT my friend. I do SO GOOD ALL DAY LONG....then I think I need to chain myself to the bed or something.
Scale is up cuz I was naughty and ate that salsa.

What did you eat WITH the salsa,that is the question!Did you have chips? I'm losing slow but I'm eating a lot of different LC foods,Bacon,eggs,fish,steak,hot wings,pork skins,H&H,salads with full fat dressing, nuts,yogurt,all LC.It is so easy to stick with,I really don't get hungry I ate pork skins last night just out of boredom(not with the diet) I've lost almost 7 lbs in less than 3 weeks without feeling like I'm on a diet I had to decide to do something I could live with and Dh is REALLY doing good too!

I knew i couldn't BLUFF my way thru that post....lol....there were chips involved. Especially since we make them at the bar also. I guess im sticking with the hcg cuz of the immediate gratification. Now.....if i could just do as i say...lol. i will always be a low carb girl. Dh also. But he does not have to be as strict as i do.

Thanks for the idea Marie! salsa's pretty LC (without the beans and corn)I may have to buy some for a snack I can use new ideas to keep Dh satistisfied.He says he even looks forward to the casseroles now and he never like them before!

Or just put them in the microwave! Takes about 2 mins in mine. I put them in there for 4 mins and they were burned real bad. I then put in some for 2 and they were perfect. I scooped cream cheese up with mine. Talk about my kids thought I was nuts.

Oh, you place the pepperoni on paper towels and put paper towels on top too. Very greasy, but oh so good!

IMHO they get too chewy in the micro. But maybe that's just mine.

Perhaps you didn't cook long enough? Mine were crispy. There is a trick to finding out how long to do it. Too long and they burn, too short a time and they are chewy. My microwave is 1200 watts.

MMMMMM....yum!!! I have never dipped them...I have to eat them quickly b'cuz my boys gobble them up

How are you doing Jan? You know it helps to be accountable to us I am doing really good! Thursday will be a whole month that I have stayed on plan. I've only lost 7-8 lbs but that 2 lbs a week and I don't feel like I'm deprived.Dh is really losing and LC has totally cured his acid reflux! He is SOLD and never wants to go back.It must have been the grainsI hope everything is going good for you

I'm doing ok, hanging on and not gaining too much, doing LC mostly, a couple maintenance level down days (JUDDD) each week seems to be all I can handle. I've been having trouble with my emotions and pain level though. Still needing to adjust supplements etc.

I'm glad to see you are on plan! A whole month! that's awesome.

Both of us have also found RELIEF from heartbuen by being low carb. My dh MORE SO !!!! He always would get it REALLY BAD !!!!

I really do not know what to do with myself and my woe. I just cannot seem to find ANY motivation at all. I feel like a HYPOCRIT posting in this thread (hcg, that is). So....I just have been lurking .

I am going to the doctor on tuesday. I am stressed. I am tired. I have NO ENERGY whatsoever !!! I ache all the time. Maybe he can light a fire under my butt...lol.
My best friend goes to WW and wants me to give that a try. I did YEARS ago. I think just about EVERY/ANY plan will work....but I sure do need a big dose of MOTIVATION to go with the plan. I see there are some people doing WW and still keeping it low carb.

I think from now on I will be posting in the journal thread. I had a journal there called Wishbones Ride. I will see if I can revive that. Please come and check on me there.

I really do love you guys....and I feel like I havn't been a very good "low carb friend" lately. I will try to do better.
