Okay -- one more post and then I am going to do something OFF the computer, lol! Just wanted to say that I have no hunger again at all today -- so I will be fasting until tomorrow.

I'll decide then if I want to keep it up another day, or go back to a fat fast, or ---?

I am a bit low energy today though... not sure if that is from the fasting, or the lingering flu, or poor sleep, or what... but I don't like it.

So, you did or did not end up getting lipo? It sounds from your post like maybe you didn't -- are you glad about that or not?

I'm not against plastic surgery, at all -- for some people, it really is the answer to living comfortably in their skin. To be honest, if I had lots of disposable income, I'd probably have a lot of tinkering done to my body! (I find the whole process extremely fascinating and appealing.) I've had laser/botox on my face, and it did a lot to reverse some longstanding sun damage -- if I could afford it now, I'd be heading right in for a tune up on that When I had money, I also used to get fillers in my lips and the hollows in my face -- honestly, I loved it, and wish I could do it now.

I am the kind of girl who would be all over every new available treatment if income allowed -- I just know it! I would definitely get my butt fixed!!!!

But (or, uh, butt...) -- since I do NOT have that income, I need to do it the old fashioned way.

I do a lot of home skin-care -- but the professional treatments just are not in the realm of possibility right now.
I did not get the lipo but, not because I didn't want it. I ran out of time and had to come back to the States. Also, because I am a diabetic they charged me more monies. I was really steamed about that one Their excuse was they would have to take additional steps for my safety???? I have had more complicated surgery in the States and they did not charge me more because of the diabetes.

I wish I could have gotten it done. I have also had laser on my face and it is great. Much cheaper than in the States and very efficient.

I made the decision that even if I stalled I would not stop exercising on hcg. I was so shocked when the doc told me I had to gain 8 pounds of muscle. Really??? Where the heck did it go and what replaced the muscle???/

I feel very lucky that I have been able to continue exercise while on p2. It's been sporadic since the marathon but I'm working out 2-3 times a week still. I don't think I've lost any muscle. I'll tell you though, I can't wait to start really lifting again!

Re: surgery- I'm in line for a breast augmentation after my next child. I told Dh I'd happily get one if I can have some lipo at the same time. My saddlebags NEVER leave me!

I'm actually considering another day as well. We will be leaving for NY at about 2ish so it should actually be very easy. Dh barely let's me drive. It's a 13 hour trip and I might drive an hour or 2.

So I think I've decided to stay on the hHCG until goal. I'm so close with about 6-7 pounds itd be silly to break now. I know I'll be ok in NY so that's that

Gosh, isn't it funny how we all struggled with body image issues at a young age? I never remember a time being comfortable when I was younger. I remember being in grade school and trying a juice fast behind my parents backs. All m y friends were bone thin (and most still are). When I was in college and started running I was in front of my mom one day and she harmlessly commented on how my butt had gotten bigger. I went on a diet with her the next day and it led to a total path of self- destruction. It ended with an intervention from my college roommates and resident advisor, and my family of course. I was pulled out if school, hospitalized, and put in a hospital. Worth it? Hardly! I know everything happens for a reason and I know I've been led down this road for a reason, I just hope some day I can figure out what that reason is!

More power to ya, Jackie! I couldn't do that. In fact, I volunteered to make the Scalloped Potatoes for our holiday dinner (the day AFTER Christmas) and now I am making Cream of Pumpkin Curry soup. I am going to hate myself for volunteering to do both of those. Mom was going to do the potatoes but she's got the back pain (x-ray says Osteopenia and narrowing of the spine.) The soup is something I've never made but I've had the recipe for as many years as I've been back in CT! (Nine years.) It will be nice and I hope it will be the start of something new for our holiday eats.

I've been reading some of the posts and you all have stories to tell. The journeys you have taken! Wow!
I have never hated my body, disliked, yes. But not to do any fasts or real crazy diets. I lost 15 lbs between 7th and 8th grade. But I ate well and did it with my dad. I ran to get in shape and I kept that weight off for many many years. The next time I "dieted" was when I was in the army after I had my daughter. I had 8 weeks to lose 15 lbs. I sat in the sauna every day and it was crazy! But when I went back to work, I had to weigh in within my limits. Or get humiliated by being put on the "overweight program"! Well let me tell ya! I barely made it bc my supervisor lied about my height! He gave me an inch!!!! LOL
Anyways, after I had my son 4.5 yrs later I refused to be in a hurry to lose the extra weight and ended up holding onto it for years! LOL
Well, my drops came in yesterday! YES, I started them! I loaded yesterday, gained 3 lbs. Just did a 1 day load bc I eat some fat anyways. So....Round 2 started!

Best of luck to you on this new round, Tammy! You've had a healthy mindset over the years and we're glad for you. Thank God for that extra inch that supervisor gave you! Now THAT'S a good way to lose weight!

Yes it was totally harmless. We've been to therapy together and she blames herself for my disease, but it wasn't or isn't her fault at all. In fact she's the one who saved me and keeps me sane now

Oh it sounds yummy! See we don't have anything really different. The usually ham, potatos, veggies, etc..... As long as I don't drink too much it can be easy and I can focus on family rather than food

Whooo hoo Tay for round 2!!! Also a big whoohoo for never having gone down the self destructive path -- it's nice to hear that once in a while!

I'm not sure about whether I will continue the fast tomorrow or not -- I'll play it by ear. I certainly could unless I get hungry -- at the moment I have no hunger at all. If I wait till afternoon tomorrow, it'll still be a 72 hour fast, since I started day before yesterday at noon.... and if I wait another day, I'll be looking at more like 96 hours, which is a respectable fast.

I'm off to alter some clothes this afternoon -- stuff that is forgiving enough to fit now, and still fit in another 7 lbs.

Disney, I totally hear you about just sticking it out -- we are so close, it doesn't make sense to bail now Now, if I could just get out of stall land, I'd really be in business.

Hi All,

Ladies, it takes all my LCF time to catch up on your posts!

I wanted to share one thing from the doctors office. When they went to enter my weight into the computer it kept asking them to double check since I'd lost 15% of my body mass since my last appointment in April. It did it three times! In april I was 219.

yesterday my BMI was 26%, I'd hope to get to 25 this round.. but it can wait until Jan.

Today is my last LCD and I can't wait until tomorrow, maybe I'll eat an entire chicken? ha! Not that hungry today, just trying to avoid the candy dish as usual!

Fingers crossed this weight stays off! I do have to admit that I'm making beter food choices, so I have hope.

Anyone got a great resource for P3 easy recipies? I'll try to read up on the P3 info before I get too far gone.

It's amazing but I worked on an army base and the women lockers room had a dry sauna in it. I tell you the truth, I have sat in saunas before for at least 30 minutes at a time, but not like the army soliders. They turn the heat all the way up, get in fully dressed, the only thing they take off is their shoes, and sit for 30 minutes. The first time I tried to sit in the sauna at that temperature with just a towel, I lasted 5 minutes and they laughed. Not malicously. The next time I went in fully clothed, sweat pants and socks and I was able to last for 20 minutes. The soliders are tough but if you watch them you learn how to be tough also and drop the weight. If a person is overweight in the army it can give them cause to discharge the person.

Rock on with that weigh in Pugs!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

Start p3 slowly seems to be the best advice -- eat p2 foods, just more of them for a few days, and add new foods in one at a time to see what causes problems...

I am no expert on p3, but that is the advice that the successful maintainers always seem to give, so there must be something to it!

Yeah, I won't go too crazy until after new years... I still have plenty of P2 food in my pantry.
And I'm adding in working out (thanks everyone for the inspiration, I'm thinking of getting the 10 minute workout program.. because I really think I can only spare 10 min at a time!)

They put ya on the overweight program and you have to show progress. If not, they discharge you. I never had to worry about weigh ins until after I had a baby though.
I know! Starting 5 days before xmas! But, xmas is never a problem when dieting for me. I'll just stay away from the "bad" stuff! LOL

That's a very respectable fast, Mini. Maybe your body put the brakes on because the food intake dropped off drastically? Stranger things have happened. I'd eat something and see what the fasting has done for you.

Cool! And YES! I do have a great resource for P3. Anything you can eat on Atkins Induction, you can eat off this ladies' website. You just have to focus on the recipes that have an * next to them. Other recipes without an * are for later phases of Atkins.

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home

When can you have the butter and bacon? Day 1! Just go slowly and don't eat the entire lb of bacon. Try a few strips and see where that leads you. I think it's that "I can eat fat now" that throws people off-track in P3. G.O.S.L.O.W! Test the waters, rather than diving in head-first.

Pugswin, I forgot to say how much I love your new Avi! Where did you find it?

Cheryl -- my body put the brakes on before I started the fast --if you mean in terms of weight. I rarely drop pounds when I fast -- that has been true even with the very long ones (7 day water fasts, 30 day juice fasts, etc.)

If you mean in terms of energy, I do think the body sometimes tries to conserve it while fasting -- though I have also had fast days when I couldn't sit still.

I think I will go back to light fare tomorrow and fat-fasting the following day -- I'm ready to get some pounds off this little body of mine!

When I get in a fasting groove, I can go days and days at a time -- and sometimes that is the right thing to do -- but right now I don't think it is.

Good call on the Linda Sue's site -- I love love love it!!!

You can actually eat a fair amount of the non-induction foods on the site while on p3 as well -- just stay away from any starches and any sugars -- other than that, it's fine!

I'm going to break my fast around dinner time tomorrow. That will give me about 50 hours. I'll have a nice salad where ever we stop on the road. That will give me some energy to stay away and help Dh with the drive

I am actually thinking I may see some pound loss after a couple of days of eating again, assuming I fat-fast and keep the calories controlled -- that happens sometimes with fasting for me....

I did not make a fast today completely, ate mostly salad though and stayed under 500 calories, so thats better than the last OHH>>> I stopped counting>>> days....

We will see if I can do a sugar/carb free tomorrow or fast tomorrow. Today was basically carb/sugar free, except the carbs from my salad..... hopefully have at least some water loss tomorrow too... Good job Minimo and Jackie, you are both my heros. I am weak with fasting...

You are not weak! IMO it isn't something you can just jump into. It is hard in many many ways and I personally need to be mentally prepared to do one
