Holiday Party Time - P4 - Do you prepare for indulgent eating beforehand?
Already had one party last week. It was in the evening, and unless I'd be only eating the veggie garnishes, I'd have to eat more starch and sugar than my body can normally handle. I didn't eat anything all day! The scale was only up a little the next morning.
We've got another party this week at night. I was just wondering if there was anything else someone might suggest to prevent massive weight gain the next morning? I don't even know if fasting earlier in the day is a good idea or if it was a fluke that it helped me last time? Should I focus on just protein? Small meals? One meal? Thoughts? Scientific reasoning? Anything? |

When i know i have a party/event/function/date--what have you, i eat very lightly during the day of the event. And try to have just a bite or 2 of the really bad stuff and fill up on the "good" stuff. I try to order either wine or "skinny" cocktails (a lot of restaurants now have SF mixers--yay!) And if those arnt availible i go to my old stand-by, Parrot Bay Rum w diet coke! The rum is coconut flavored and mixes quite well with the diet coke.
I have lots of things coming up as well! It's that time of year! Try to relax a little without falling too far off the wagon--thats my motto!

Protein, protein, protein during the day, maybe eggs with breakfast and a little meat with lunch, and then fill up on veggies at the wing-ding because all parties have a veggie platter! Then eat a bit of this and a bite of that, walk around with seltzer water with a lemon or a lime in it, and be happy you're in your skinny clothes. It's not about the food anyway

Thanks for the input.
Hey, miamiloca... I'm not usually an alcohol consumer, but I do like an occasional virgin strawberry daiquiri or fruity drink in a pretty glass. Know of any non-alcoholic "fun" drinks I might get somewhere (or make at home)? |

2 shots tequila packet of sweetner a couple good squirts of lime ice a little water if you want to thin it out If you're out, take a couple packets of stevia sweetner or splenda or whatever little packets you can carry in your purse. Ask bartender for a double shot of tequila on the rocks and several wedges of lime. When brought to you, squeeze the limes, add the packet of sweetner, and stir. Easy peasy Applebees has a skinny mojito that is good. |

You can always order the skinny cocktails with no alcohol, too!
You could make a nice daquiri out of SF sorbet or something like that. (i would be pouring in rum, but that's me--LOL |
