Stacey -- I hope the chips don't backfire for you. I really hear you on the hunger ... it can get the better of one at times. The fact that you feel better after eating is telling ... your body needed some fuel.
I definitely think that when we are eating this little, especially for those of us doing long (or, in my case, seemingly endless) rounds, we need to space the eating out so that we don't go too long without food. I used to be a very intermittent eater -- one meal a day was just fine -- but I wasn't operating in a huge caloric deficit for weeks on end then, either. You'll get right back on track tomorrow, I have no doubt ... I certainly did, after my little vodka episode I've been a paragon of virtue today, though I did intentionally raise calories to 1000 just to see if it might help. It certainly is helping me feel better tonight... but we will see what it does in terms of weight. If I don't see a very, very nice drop tomorrow, I am going to do a fat-fast day. I will be exceedingly diligent about calories with it... that often gets the scale's attention... plus, it's yummy. Tiny bits of food, but yummy and satisfying nonetheless.

Hexa -- you are right -- very wise words!
Wow -- it has been so long since I have had fries I don't think I remember what they taste like! If I ever get to p4, I am looking forward to the very occasional meal of formerly forbidden foods -- I'm super carb-phobic in general, though ... so I think it will be quite a process to get to where I can even try any without panicking. I think my dream scenario of p4/maintenance would consist of healthy, lower-carb eating on a daily basis, but with enough leeway that it looks more like Atkins maintenance... meaning including a little fruit as well as some home made low carb breads and goodies (I don't do the processed frankenfood thing much at all) -- and maybe 1 or two days a month where I just have an unresticted meal of whatever is most appealing at that point in time. Even if that meal has to be followed by a correction day or two, as long as that keeps homeostasis and successful maintenance, I would be a very happy girl. I'd love to be able to eat when hungry, stop when satisfied, and not have to count calories forever - though I don't know if that will be possible. Maybe it will! Have you guys ever read Sugar Free Sheila's site? She is a success story if ever there was one (and now she makes a business out of being a low-carb life coach, which I find funny, but it works for her.) She advocates cheat days every so often - she calls them Fun Days -- and she seems to maintain perfectly at an ideal weight for her body, not to mention having gorgeous skin and generally looking amazing. Her blood work is perfect. She did it all on Atkins -- lost the weight once, and never looked back. I find that pretty inspirational ... |

Good morning. Surprisingly down .2 today. I was really expecting to be up so I'll take that tiny drop. If I can get down .8 tomorrow I'll be right on track. Super clean day today and a run
Hope everyone has a good morning! |

I'm sorry you struggle when TOM comes to call. I have been postmenopausal for many years (ovarian failure) and don't even really remember the last time I had a TOM. I only had them if I was taking something like Birth Control pills or hormones. I'm guessing it's been 16 years or so. Quote:
I have heard of Low Carb Sheila but never looked into her website much. I'll need to go check her out. Thanks for the info. As for me, I woke up before the sun did and I couldn't get back to sleep. I weighed and was up 0.4. I went back to bed and tried to sleep but it just wouldn't come. After a few hours of laying there, I reweighed and still up 0.4. So, that's what I am today. I know it's just the sleep (and/or Bernice) because I did nothing different yesterday. I took 2 Mag O7's a bit ago and will not eat until I get a result. I think that will do the trick. I don't mind staying the same but it is hard to swallow any increase when you've been perfectly on plan. So, stay tuned! The number may drop in a while. ![]() I hope everyone has an awesome day! and to everyone I didn't quote or mention. Like DP says, "Let's have an intentional day today!" Wish me luck with the treadmill deal. Soon I will know if I got duped.

Morning!
DH and I stayed home from church today so that we have more time before the kiddos come home. We are going to decorate our tree when they get home. They have no idea! Will be a great surprise! I got a great night's sleep and got some more dishes painted for several orders. I am feeling so productive! And as far as the scale goes, I was the same as yesterday! The chips didn't derail me...at least this time! Whew!! Very happy about that. But in the back of my head, I am thinking I probably would have lost if I hadn't eaten them. Anyway, thank you all so much for all your words of wisdom and encouragement! You all are the BEST!! ![]() Cheryl, can't wait to hear about your trade! Hope all goes well. I try to think the best of people. There is still a lot of good in this world amongst the craziness! Mini, I looked at SF Shelia's site back in the spring and she is GREAT! Love her recipes. I will probably look more when in maintanience. I have a busy day today. Have a baby shower to attend this afternoon and then I will serve at church doing childcare. Sheesh, I do love kids don't I?!?! I still have painting to do and some cleaning, but I got 9.5 hours of sleep. I feel like I can conquer the world!! ![]() Have a GREAT day! ![]() |

That's great, Stacey! On ALL of your news! Have a fun day with the kids and at daycare at church and decorating your tree. I love happy kid faces when they get something they didn't expect.
I hope the trade goes well, too! I do like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I've been burned a number of times. Last August, after weeks of talking on the phone with a man who was selling a Class A motorhome, after studying all the pictures he'd posted and asking him every question I could think of (I made lists), I bought a one-way ticket to VA to drive it, seal the deal and take it home. It was a total project RV. I ended up buying another one-way ticket on the last flight out of their one-horse-town airport. My sister drove me to Hartford when I flew out and had to drive right back just after midnight to come and get me again. That's why I am sceptical. |

Morning everyone!
I think maybe the vodka wasn't entirely to blame for this weeks bump up on the scale -- TOM is making some signs of appearing -- it's a bit early, but not ridiculously so -- and you all know how inconsistent my cycle is. I'm down .4 from yesterday, but that is still up by more than a pound from two days ago... I'm showing some signs of water retention, too -- If this is TOM weight, then there is nothing to do but wait it out, and be virtuous in the mean time... I will get a good drop when it leaves or at least gets rolling... I always do. I'm adding fat in today -- will go much lower carb, and higher fat and protein, and try to keep the calories at less than 1000. That may bring on a good loss, or it may not, but at least it'll shake up the equation and keep my body guessing. I'm hungry this morning! |

Yay, a 1lb. mini-whoosh!! TOM is so weird these days. It's been almost 3 months since the last one, and this one is barely spotting. But, at least the breast tenderness is subsiding. I'm dealing with a little cold, hoping to kick it in the hiney by tomorrow! Plenty of tea for me today!!
Cheryl, I hope the treadmill works out!! Sending good vibes your way! Mini, I'm glad you're headed in the right direction again! It always amazes me how sensitive our bodies are! I'm having a bit of an issue with Bernice this time around. Previously on MF she visited with great regularity and abundance. Now, she's here every day, but sometimes just barely so. My water and fluid intake is high, so I'm not sure what else could be going on.

Lynne -- nice drop! Yes, bodies are strange, sensitive things -- it honestly is baffling.
I'm really hoping this bump up is TOM -- that always causes a significant gain for me. I'm thinking it probably is -- which would explain my foul mood and short fuse the past couple of days. It would also explain the increased hunger this week -- and the migraines. I hope it just starts now without too much fuss ... I want the darn thing over with. I'll be writing today -- need to make some major headway on that. Good luck with the treadmill swap, Cheryl! Your motor home experience sounds terrible. |

Hi All,
Down today, finally! 197.5.. And maybe reality is setting in, a shy guy is NOT going to call. But that's okay. I'll run into him again someday and baseball season is a way off.. so plenty of time. Dating in my 40s, didn't ever consider that happening. What a difference. Why couldn't we know all this back in our 20s? I bought some Levi's, size 16 and I love them, tempted to get another pair, but they are already loose, so I'll wait until another 10 or 20 lbs off.. maybe size 14? I can say that my size 18s are looking and feeling like potato sacks. I missed the size discussion but I don't ever remember being smaller than an 11, prior to that all my clothes were all purchased for me (12 years old)! All my life I've been told by my mother and sister I was fat (both were anorexic at some point, so everyone is fat to them) and I've always just accepted that as how I was ... I do don't feel fat anymore. Could I actually get to 170? Should I try lower, ha! I supposed it would be fun to be skinny for once. have a great day everyone!

Pugs -- whoohoo on those smaller jeans! And on the nice drop! Also whoohoo on the patience with the guy -- maybe you should call him..? Don't buy another pair of jeans... these will be potato sacks too very soon -- so just enjoy the pair you have for now!
You can totally get to 170 -- and probably lower if that is what you want to do. |

Good Morning! R3VLCD8 and am down another .8 - total of 9 pounds gone in 7 days (it used to take me close to 2 months to shed the same amount of weight) - only 11 pounds to meet my short-term goal of 155.2 by Christmas Day.
That's 21 days to get rid of only 11 pounds, sounds very doable to me! ![]() Dazy, I'm sorry about Noah. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and keep you. ![]() ![]() ![]() Congratulations to everyone and make it a great day. ![]()

Drinking and writing (like driving) don't mix. Thanks for the good luck wishes on the treadmill. I keep telling Cisco (my dog) that we're getting a treadmill but she just looks at me with those eyes as if to say, "Stop teasing me! You're cruel!" She is going to be one happy girl. I'll take a picture of her walking on it and post it tonight. The motorhome was a nightmare. I was 99.8% certain I was driving that puppy home and that I'd be living in it and traveling full-time. I had sold much of my good furniture, thinking nothing would be going with me. After that, I had no clue what direction I was going in, it was too late to try and find another one (I'd been actively looking for months), etc, etc. One of life's hard lessons. Actually, I'm pretty sure the pictures he posted of the RV were the ones in the ad he responded to when he bought it the year before. Very coniving B**********. Quote:
I wonder if he's as shy as you said because he did ask you if he could give you a kiss. That took some guts. Or was it the booze that you think loosened him up? Try to be in a situation where he'll be there again soon. Momentum will help move things along. Too much time passing between seeing each other and things might fade away. Quote:
I'm sure you'll reach your goal for Christmas! That's a very conservative goal. All ready for when the phone call comes from the treadmill people. I'm hoping they don't back out at the last minute. I HATE THAT! It happens all the time on Freecycle. I guess it's the same with Craigslist too. What really makes me the maddest is that these people have my phone number and address. That makes me feel vulnerable and makes me wonder if that was really all they were looking for in the first place. ![]() |

Hi Roguers - I started HCG injections on Monday and modified my eating after a day or so - eliminated the fruit/melba and upped protein and have added cheese here and there - cream in coffee, etc. Somewhat of a modified Atkins. I lost 7lbs as of Friday's weigh in (which I know alot was loading weight - gained 8.8lbs during loading) and since then I've basically been at a stand still.
I see that everyone here has their own version of rogue but my question is, with the hcg burning fat, is having some fat going to sabotage my rogue plan? Here is a sample menu from yesterday as an example: Morning: Coffee w 1 Tbsp half and half and Stevia in the Raw Lunch: Thin Steak Rolled up with Creamed Spinach and Parm Cheese Dinner: Snow Crabs with Butter I know calorie wise I am only at about 700 calories but am I overdoing it with fat? Any feedback you can offer would be great - thanks! |

Hi Chris, and welcome!
Roguing is a try it and see proposition -- we all have different formulas that work for us. I tend to lose reasonably well on higher fat, personally, as long as I keep calories to less than 1000 a day -- but that may or may not be the case for you. You lost a lot very quickly, so a temporary stall is fairly normal at this stage -- please feel free to join us and learn from us -- both our successes and our failures! |

Hi, Chris. Typically, HCG is a low fat, low cal diet. Some people have done fine on a more Atkins approach. But one size doesn't fit all, I'm afraid. I'd love to eat a menu like yours but I don't know if it would work as well as sticking closer to the basic premise of the plan. We are all rogues but I don't think many of us do high fat.
Hopefully you will get more advice from others. All I can say is, if it stops working, go lower fat. I have found that I Can't Believe It's Not Butter tastes very good. Maybe use that on your crab instead of butter? |

Paula -- I know, when I complain about my slow progress, I remember that you are having an even harder time of it ... my heart goes out to you!
So, you are p3ing it through the holidays, and then what? I wonder if you might benefit from just biting the bullet and doing an actual protocol round, and just getting a bunch of the losing done all at once? I noticed today that I have definitely had some inch loss in my stomach and waist area -- the losses aren't showing up in my jeans so much yet, but my belly has definitely gotten a lot flatter. I'm trying not to freak about the ups and downs on the scale -- it may be TOM, it may be something else again, but the weight will come off in due time. I'd be super happy to see an inch loss in the lower body right now! I feel pretty great after my higher fat meal (it is a one-meal day for me) -- and hoping I stay satisfied until night... I am stalling, but am off to tackle writing now ... will be checking in periodically throughout the day. |

Thank you all for your quick responses. I am going to try to cut some of the fat - maybe do fat free half and half, and as Cheryl B suggested, I can't believe it's not butter. I never end up spraying - I always end up pouring it on top of stuff and i have a feeling its not zero calories at that point. LOL but thank you - I am going to try to lower fat if I don't lose in the next few days - thank you so much! And yes, I will definitely be around :-)

In any case, both are pretty effective for me, just have to do weekdays longer to get the same amount of loss. I loved JUDDD, just wasn't doing much for me with weight loss. I had some extra benefits...my sleep problems started getting better and I have been able to reduce my benedryl dosage. Also, my waist hip ratio improved with it. That's saying something cause I went from 204 to 129 with zero change in that ratio. And I'm very happy to have kept some of those curves. I might reexplore JUDDD for maintenance, it's pretty fun, even generally keeping carbs out of the mix as I did. |

Well, Paula -- whatever you decide, I know you will see this through to the end. Whoohoo for the change in your waist/hip ratio! That's encouraging!
Did you get a picture in your goal pants? Do we get to see it? I'm definitely interested in a JUDDD/IF plan for maintenance -- and I think I can make that work for me. I am interested in all the health and anti inflammatory benefits of that type of diet, but it doesn't cause me to lose weight, either. |

When doors start opening up, it's so freakin' amazing! I love my treadmill! And she brought two burly guys who did all the work. I felt like I should have tipped them. They were very happy with the elliptical, too. Seems like a fair trade! Here's the pics. It is very pristine.
There is a two-speed fan in the console that works! It looks like it's gotten very little use and I am absolutely thrilled! Woohooo! It's a shame this thread is about to expire.... ![]() |
