Help needed for fresh start...

Hi Everyone,

I did a very successful 1st round using RX sublingual. I used pellets my 2nd round..but my head wasn't in it and unlike 1st round, I bended rules (cottage cheese every meal and not so carefully measured + some flat out cheats). I basically quit that round, no p3 or p4.

I want to try again. It's been 8-9 months and I've eaten poorly and regained...I swore I wouldn't but I did.

The RX is expensive and shipping takes forever. Before I joined here I had heard the homeopathic hcg is a waste but I now know that isn't true. What I don't know is how to pick the right one (one where people who follow protocal lose an average of .5 lbs a day or more. I have to do my part and I know I'm committed. I just want to be sure the hcg I pick is a good one. Help? Thanks

Hi Halebop. Sorry to hear that you had a regain, but it's good that you are back on the wagon. I use Intermountain pellets and I had great losses with it, but I really think that following protocol is the #1 thing to ensure you will have good losses -- once you allow yourself to slip/cheat, then nothing will work (and I say this as someone who had a completely horrific Round 2 for the same reasons you did -- so I don't really "count" that as a round for me). In my 1st and 3rd (2nd round do-over) rounds I averaged .5 per day, but not "every" day -- you just have to keep working at it and not get frustrated if your loss slows for a few days. The biggest thing is that you need your hunger under control, and for me, it took a bit of playing around to get the dosage right, but once I did, no hunger whatsoever and it was easy to stick to protocol. You can do it!

Here was my basic plan:

6:00 coffee
9:00 3 pellets
12:00 lunch
3:00 2 pellets
6:00 dinner
9:00 3 pellets

* Fruit was in between those times, whenever I needed it. I did not eat the grissini/bread because I think that was a big part of my downfall in Round 2.

I used Intermountain pellets as well.

You can do this!

Thank you. I have to stop thinking the pellets were to blame for my 2nd round fail. I do remember being really hungry and feeling like I had no clue if I needed a higher or a lower dose. How do you know which way to fiddle so you get it right? Thanks for the encouragement!

There were a few occasions when I was hungry, but I never adjusted my dosages, which were 3 pellets at 9:00am, 3 pellets at 2:00pm, and 3 pellets at 10:00pm.

I just rationalized that it was okay to feel hungry sometimes, and that it wouldn't kill me, (and it wasn't often), and that compared to what some people less fortunate in the world have to exist upon, I was enjoying a smorgasborg, therefore, I just needed to suck it up, and gut it out.

Getting this weight off is more important than worrying about my stomach growling.

Now that being said, I don't think there is any way I could stay on a 500 calorie diet without hhcg or hcg. Nor do I believe it would be healthy to do so.

I have yo-yo dieted since college (many moons ago), and for me yo-yo dieting is better than the alternative which is doing nothing at all.

The majority of the experienced posters on here advised me to adjust "down" instead of up, and they were right. The easiest way to determine seems to be as follows: If you are experiencing abnormal hunger (that is, it's normal to be hungry before a meal, but not to be famished for most of day) then try skipping your last dose of the day. The next morning, if you wake up feeling less hungry, then you know that you need to decrease your dose. If you're more hungry, you may need to increase it. I would say that 90% of the posters I've read on here in regards to this seem to experience that less is better. I just needed slightly less (3/2/3) and I was good to go. It's amazing what a difference it makes when you don't feel like you have to "white knuckle" through the day. Hhcg, when taken in the proper amounts, suppresses your appetite tremendously. You should NOT be starving, and you won't be once you get the proper dose. Again -- I'm speaking from experience here. My first round was TOUGH because I was so hungry, but I toughed it out from sheer desire. I couldn't do that my second round, hence the failure. My last round I finally got it right, and that's what I wish for everyone. You should NOT be plagued with hunger on this plan. You just have to find the right dose and times and it is so much easier.

Make sure you load properly, 2 days, with the pellets. Don't skimp on that now because you think you've gained too much. JMHO. Good luck! You can do this!
