taking HHCG long term?

Hey Everyone,
I am new here. Just have a question about HCG pellets and drops. I never did the injections and know you can only take them for so long and then you need a break. Does that apply to the drops/pellets as well? Can you continue to be on them daily to help control appetite and keep your weight down? I thought I read something about your body becoming immune to the HCG itself and needs the break. Anyone have any thoughts on this.

BTW, I am about ready to start phase 3 but am pretty scared about gaining back what I have lost. I am down 20 lbs. (wanted to go 5 more but I've been on hcg for a while now). I'm going to take some of the advice on here about how/when to add certain foods to my diet.

Thanks!

Hi, I'm in the Pac NW too...

I would love to be able to tell you that you can stay on the pellets/drops long time for appetite control - but alas, it's not so. If you "cheat" on this diet, by that I mean go over the VLCD program by very much, not only do you stall, you gain. So staying on it long term would mean you would end up staying on very low calories long term. Not very healthy, and could lead to protein deficiency. There are other reasons besides immunity for the breaks.

If this is your first P3, just take it nice and slow, but keep your protein UP, your water UP, and your sleep UP. No kidding. Those 3 things are KEY to stabilizing in P3.

Treat the first 5-7 days of P3 as a P2++, meaning, you add in a little healthy fat, MIX your veggies and proteins, DOUBLE your protein at lunch and dinner, and ADD eggs for breakfast. If you do that, you should stabilize pretty easily. Some of us get into trouble when we add a whole bunch of different foods, nuts, dairy, cheese, etc right off the get-go. Honestly, every time I listen to my own advice or tell someone else that who does it like this, they really do find P3 to be a breeze. Don't add a bunch of sugar-free chemical stuff, don't eat any dairy except maybe a teeny bit of heavy whipping cream in your coffee, and don't add nuts of any kind for at least the first few days. DO eat alot of protein, similar to the kinds you had on P2 but now you can have the fattier kinds

Hope that helps! JMHO.

(edited to add: Some people have no problem with dairy or nuts or SF items - I just mention it because I have found those things to be wieght-jumping items and many people have sensitivities to them adding them right away in P3. Best to do one at a time so you know the culprit if that is the case.)

Just want to say that I took C'Marie's advice in regards to P3 and I had absolutely NO problem stabilizing. It was so easy it was scary, I ate a lot and often, and really, really enjoyed myself.

Trust this advice... it is GOLDEN!

I was very concerned about P3 as well, I have only been on it 10 days but I have stabilized great and I eat a lot of food and good food.

I really don't want to be on a diet the rest of my life, I want to live, be able to eat without my body holding onto every little bit and making me gain weight. P3 does that for me.

Two nights ago, I went out, had a large ribeye steak, a gorgeous salad with blue cheese and some steamed veggies with butter, I didn't gain the next day! In my old life I would have gained big time as I would have piled on the carbs as well as the fat, my body being used to going low calorie ALL the time would have glommed onto those calories and never let them go.

Good luck, treat your new metabolism like a baby, nurture it, feed it, but never starve it (follow Dr Simeon's protocol).

Thanks everyone! I found that I get full quick now that I've increased my food intake. Can't wait to add eggs in the AM For coffee creamer, what about half and half? I haven't heard of using heavy whipping cream...is there a benefit to using that?

Less sugar, more fat. Fat is your friend...
