Officially started ...

I saw my doctor for my initial appt. today, and set up my time plan.

I will "load" Saturday and Sunday, then start P2 Monday (11/14). Wednesday is my first acupuncture appointment. I start the hcg drops on Saturday, along with drops to eliminate muscle loss (arginine etc.).

I had my official starting weight today - 148.8# - not too awfully far from my personal weight of 145 (the official weight was at 2PM, fully dressed with shoes, and having eaten - my weight is first thing in the morning, undressed, and no food/drink). I also had a metabolic test - don't believe the numbers (supposedly I can eat 1400 calories/day and maintain - I eat far fewer ...) - but I do think the comparison numbers at the end will be helpful - I'll see if I've increased my metabolism.

The diet is going to be a challenge - I am so used to not worrying about the fat content of food. Need to figure out what to carry for food to DisneyWorld Tuesday - has to fit comfortably in my purse - will need both meals and at least one snack. And it'll take some getting used to no half-and-half in my coffee ... at least I have some of the stevia (packets and drops) coming in. I do find the apple for a snack a really nice treat - typically I avoid most fruit, and apples are the hardest to turn down. I'm planning on at least 1 apple per day.

I am excited - I'm so looking forward to getting rid of my belly and heavy thighs!

Welcome Bonnie

I did Disney last year on P2. I brought in lean steak, sliced cucumbers and strawberries with a small ice pack. Very doable

And not to be a bad influence, but many posters still use cream or half & half with success.

Do you have a game plan for Thanksgiving?

Thanks Stevie. Sliced cucumbers is a good idea, most of the vegetables don't travel well ... And the lean steak - I guess I need to start studying the recipes and figure out simple ways to do the meats.

Thanksgiving will be a lobster tail (no drawn butter) and maybe asparagus - it'll be reasonably simple to make my husband a nice meal around this ...

Tomorrow is my first "load" day - I assume this is the P1 phase? Today is grocery day - apples are on my list! I don't understand the reasoning for the foods, the protein makes sense and the reduced fat - but what is the purpose of only 1 allowed vegetable at a meal? and the 2 pieces of melba toast? and the 2 fruits?

The link for the Pounds and Inches doesn't work, but I did look it up and have pretty much read it - some of it I can make sense of, some of it ???

But whatever, I am following the diet with no deviations! Pulled out some "winter" clothes yesterday and some of favorites are still too snug - looking forward to being able to wear them again - kind of like a shopping spree but with no money-outlay!

All of the "phases" were invented by Kevin Trudeau. The P1 phase is NOT the loading (that's actually part of P2) but a detox diet that he recommends for 3-12 weeks before starting. Most people skip that "phase" and just go right to Phase 2.
