HCG and Hypothyroidism
Hey guys! Ive been on hcg injections for 21 days...10 of which I was on my period BUT I havent lost any weight??? Ive been pretty good with my eating and drinking lots of water.....do you think the HCG is having a bad reaction to my thyroxine or my birth control??? Everybody I talk to is having great results but not me :( Im so depressed!! Help PLEASE
|
I've heard that hcg doesn't work well for those of us who have hypothyroid issues... that's why I chose low carb.
|
Really?? I think im going to call my endocronoligist tommorow....Ive been on it so long (21 days) and to not have lost anything is just depressing :(
|
I had a total tyroidectomy. HCG is the only thing that I have been able to lose weight on. But you need to be sure that your Free T3 and Free T4 are within "your" normal range.
Good luck! Lora |

When you say you have been "pretty good" with the diet, have you been sticking with protocol or varying it a bit? Good idea on visiting your endo Dr. I did that before starting HCG just to have my numbers right, however I am on drops/homeopathic not injections, Best wishes, hope this works for you, there are a ton of people here that can offer really good advise, mine is limited to one round on P2 and being hypothyroid. |
Im on .125 thyroxine....ive varied a bit but not much.....I am currently 180 trying to get back down to 135lbs. I take thyroxine, yasmin and zoloft for my anxiety...I know im a hormonal nightmare lol Im trying to lose 40-45 lbs....ill let you know what the endo says tommorow....last time I checked my levels were ok...soooo well see. I just finished 21 days...I may stop and wait till I talk to my endo to continue with my next 21 days. Its just depressing you know?

so you can understand my frustration!!! lol Should I stop now after 21 days...take a break and start the other 21 in a couple weeks or keep going? Thxxxxx

hcghypo girl, I'm also hypothyroid. I take methimazole daily. I've lost 60 pounds in 2 rounds. (just finishing up R2P2 and going into P3 again). I know I've religiously followed Dr. Simeons protocol.
Sorry for your disappointment. I'm like Dawn....I get so disgusted when I don't lose something (even .2) every day!!! I can't imagine going for 21 days without a loss!!! Good luck to you. |

I am hypothyroid, and I followed the program in an extremely strict manner. (Mostly because I am so cynical and was convinced it wouldn't work, and I wanted to be sure it wasn't because of me). I averaged .5 a day. Hope you figure something out - it does sound extremely frustrating. |
thanks all im gonna try and switch up some of my fruits....maybe that will help..

I had my thyroid removed a year ago, I'm on 150 mcg of synthroid. I have been doing HCG injections for 3 weeks and have lost 18 lbs so far. I have another 35 to go. So far it is working FABULOUS!!!!

I was going to ask a question similar just out of curiosity.
I'm hypo and take Naturethroid (natural thyroid) and have been losing on the hcg when I stick to protocol, lol. Where did you get your injections? I would be afraid there isn't HCG in them or somehow its gotten destroyed. Are you hungry? There is no way I could stay on 500 cals a day without knowing that the weight would come off if I did it. Good Luck! |
Just wanted to throw in a couple of pennies here... I am hypo-thyroid, hypo-adrenal, and hypo-whatever you call someone with all kinds of sex hormone problems! I am on medication for all of these conditions and I did two rounds of homeopathic hcg, from January to May of this year and have lost 60 pounds. I am currently maintaining pretty easily in my window at a normal weight for my height (yay! ) I don't feel that being hypo(anything) has prevented me from losing the weight or keeping it off. I actually had an endocrinologist recommend the diet to me originally, although I ended up going homeopathic to reduce the cost. Just fyi for anyone concerned...

hcg hypogirl- I know this is an old thread, but can't help but notice the thing that is screaming out to me is the Zoloft. Anti-depressants are notorious for causing weight gain and or stalling weightloss. Zoloft is one of the worst offenders in this class of drugs for some folks. I've seen this time and time again with patients I have cared for taking these meds.

My ENT manages my thyroid medication. I am on .125MCG to treat a goiter which I developed which was really strange as I had symptoms of hypothyroid for YEARS but my test results were always NORMAL, my results are still NORMAL. I am on track and losing weight as I should, however, I am also on Ritalin for ADHD which may counteract the thyroid med. I had to consult ALL doctors prior to beginning the HCG protocol and was greenlighted so I can't imagine the thyroid med being problematic?
