Good Friday morning!
Down .2 this morning. I managed to eat some turkey(white meat) and have some salad with a drop of salad dressing and some brocolli minus the cheese sauce. I was tempted by all the sweets and starchy foods, but I stayed away!!! How about y'all??? have a wonderful day! |

congrats on being strong, Sandra!
My son was responsible for all the cooking yesterday and I got to just relax and enjoy it. Since I'm in P4, I had a little bit of everything. It was a massive carb/wine overload and I'm up 1.5 lbs but still way below LDW, so I will just eat normally today and the H20 from all the sugar will disappear because HCG is magic. It's a miracle you guys...I can be thin and still have Thanksgiving like everybody else. That is one of the things I've been thankful for this year.

Morning Red Hots!
Today I'm suppose to meet friends at a chinese restaurant and i was looking over the menu. It looks like hot and sour soup or egg drop soup might be good choices. Or I'll see if they can just steam the chicken and broccoli??? What do y'all think? Had a bag of smart pop popcorn (OWL) and i thought that I died and went to heaven! lol Have a great day! cbl |

I'll second what Deb asked you. What phase are you in? That is crutial to know how to answer your question. Sorry you had a slip on Thanksgiving but don't let it totally derail you. Get back up, dust yourself off and get back in the saddle!

I have decided to take this window of time that has opened up after Thanksgiving to do a 30-day P2 round. I'm loading this weekend! I just love loading. So, I hope to at least be solidly in the 140's by the New Year, if not all the way to goal. I'm going to do this as well as I can and keep it in the forefront of my mind that this will be my last round, if I do it right!
Deb, I'm going to try and follow your Dr's rules for the round. I'll invest in some organic meats and veggies and fruit and skip the grains. Thanks for sharing! I'll try to skip the diet sodas just because I would want to have more than one or two once I acquire the taste for them again. I'll just do water and black coffee. (Maybe tea.) So...here's how it went. On Thanksgiving, I ate everything I wanted (see the earlier list of what my son cooked...RIDICULOUS carb load). I was up 1.5 lbs yesterday from the sugar. Today, right back to 136.5, 4 pounds under LDW. It's SUCH a relief....I can eat regular food like a regular person once in a while and not even have to break my 'no CD' record. I'm pumped.

Up .8 this am. AARRGGHH! I did have a little hot and sour soup, didn't think about the corn starch, but I did order steamed chicken and veggies. My downfall was wine last night. I know better and will be back on track today. I am hoping to go as long as I can in this round. Today is day 34 and I decided to stick with your plan Deb. Going to get some organic poultry/meat today. Can I really go 60 plus days???

Sure you can, Sandra! Also...don't forget the Old Chinese Water Trap...MSG. Chances are your bowl of soup had enough of that to make you retain a load of water. It's heinous stuff

red hots, how i have missed everyone!!
when it rains, it pours...i do not know when i will be able to check in again so i will write a novel now and come back when its possible! my computer has decided to crash at random...along with everything else its pushing me closer to the edge ![]() i have stayed on plan and actually stopped getting on the scale as this huge stall was just aggravating me. i was not going to weigh this morning but did, after coffee and sitting around, was 158.5. i did measurements this morning and was happy and surprised at how many inches i have lost. that was a positive for certain. major stall happening on my end but i am physically feeling much better. if everything else in my life would just fall into line, i would be ok im wanting 155 so bad that i am just going to keep going at this point. will reassess next week. have a great day everyone, will try to read but i keep losing my computer. Sandra, not all Chinese restaurants use MSG. The local one near me says "no msg" on their menu. That is a great plus. I am very sensitive to the stuff.
Layla, I'm sorry you are having so much computer trouble now. So it's not the internet crashing (like before) and it's the computer itself now? I will pray for you again. I was looking forward to that "book" you said you were going to write but apparently the computer died too soon. Hey, Deb! MSG really is evil stuff, isn't it? Sneaky little thing that they add to so many food items. Even Lowry's seasoned salt, I think. I have to check lables of all spices and things that I'm not accustomed to using to make sure there isn't any added. |

hi everyone! Been MIA for a little bit. I was up 5 big pounds after TG, but back to 191 this morning. Just bounced back down with NO CD!!! Do you think I've already stabilized? I'm eating plenty. Not really counting calories, just eating til I'm happy. Not eating at night. That was always my downfall. I'm even eating some carbs. No cheese though. I can eat pepperoni too! I love that stuff!
well, have to go! Be back tomorrow! Have a good night! STEELER NIGHT!!! |

Cheryl, don't believe that "no msg" stuff on any Chinese menu. As a restaurant business insider (we own a couple of restaurants) I can guarantee that just about any restaurant food you ingest outside of super-pricey haute cuisine will contain a fair amount of MSG. All "no msg" means is that they don't shovel the stuff directly out of a container labeled "MSG". That doesn't mean that the pre-packaged sauces, meats, spice mixes etc that they use do not contain the stuff, because they do. Not just Chinese restaurants either. Everything but the stuff you can't afford to do but once in a blue moon. THAT (and not hidden sugars) is, in my opinion, the most likely reason so many people register a gain the day after eating what seems to be a clean choice from a restaurant menu. They don't butcher their own meats and chicken, they don't make their own sauces fresh from raw ingredients. They use prepared food, which, especially for use in restaurants, invariably contains MSG if it is made for the purpose of enhancing savory foods. The FDA says you don't have to list MSG on the label of a product, for instance, if the product contains hydrolyzed protein. Even though the USDA states that the chemical breakdown of proteins in the hydrolyzation process may result in the formation of free glutamate that joins with free sodium to form MSG. So...it's there. It's only terrible if you gain and don't know why. I think it's not so bad for us really, unless you have blood pressure issues or eat take out food every night of the week.

Well, that sucks. The more I know, the more I want to become someone who makes all their own foods. Right down to their own broth from chicken stock. I was watching 60 Minutes tonight (think it was that show) and they were talking about the business of "flavor enhancement." God only knows what that all entails but it's all designed to create addictions and keep you coming back for more.
I bought my very first (that I can recall) packages of hormone-free chicken tonight. (Please don't tell me that "hormone free" doesn't mean what I think it means. I'm feeling pretty good about the purchase.) The packaging also states that the chickens were fed an all-veggi diet. Tammy, glad you dropped back near your LDW without having to do a CD. Hope you enjoy the game! I'm off for the rest of the night. Sleep well, ladies! Sweet dreams. |

I think that 'hormone free' is a good designation. At least it is according to all the research I've done. I buy hormone free meats and I'm enjoying it very much. I particularly like the brand of chicken called "Smart Chicken". It is so good. Has a wonderful velvety moistness.

Morning!
Back on track and down the .8 that I gained over the weekend. I will think twice about all restaurant foods!! Having constipation issues and I drank smooth tea(senna) and it just may be toooo smooth for me. Any suggestions? My stats are slowing down...14 lbs. loss in 35 days. My starting weight was 168.8. I realize that some people average a 15-20 loss a month??? Have a great Monday! |

Phase 2. And i'm back on track...strict protocol. Good news is that i didnt gain. But i have been stuck at the same weight since day 9 of my 30 day round.
I lost 10 lbs in the first 8 days or so, and have been the same since Nov. 15th. |

Okay...there are no "Correction Days" (steak days) in P2. That is for P3 and P4. If you fall off the wagon in P2, the way back is strict protocol eating and lots of water. You can do an "apple day" (for your sanity...not your body) if you become too frustrated with a stall. It's not a correction day for undoing off-program eating, but it can (sometimes) help (some people) get going again if the lack of movement on the scale is getting to them.

Someone actually told me to cheat a bit, then go to strict protocol to get out of the stall. Not sure i should believe them...

Can you post your stats and include your 'naughty days' so we can look at them? I wouldn't try breaking a stall with a re-feed in a first round unless you were doing a really long extended round and stalled well past the 40 day mark.

I had a lovely Thanksgiving and hope you all did too. I'm glad I was in P3 for it. Next time I need a correction day I'm doing giant roast turkey legs!! I had one at the Ren Faire and it was pretty good - couldn't finish it.
Kudos to all you who persevered in P2 through the holiday. You inspire me. I've decided on short, strict rounds next time. I will start a 21 day P2 round on Dec. 26. Till then I'm having fun re-learning to cook vegetables and making up new vegetable recipes. I love them again and they love me I also read a book about buying vegetables in season from Farmers Markets and putting stuff away - like blanching and freezing. I used to have a garden so I know that home grown veggies taste way better than store-bought and retain more nutrients. Yummie. 169.7 = today. Top of the window but not over it. Will make it a mostly meat day. Though I know what made me gain. It was the dreamfield pasta. I just can't eat that stuff. Not buying any more.

Hi everyone!
Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving Im officially in P4 now and still under LDW . I even had a couple of days where I ate party food (bbq sandwiches, chips, ice cream and cake) ...no cd needed, just ate clean and the 1.4 I had gained was gone Mentally trying to prepare myself for my 4th round in January. I was bitterly disappointed last week at my yearly physical to find out that Im 5'2 instead of 5'4 as I'd always thought, as this makes me need to lose at least another 30 before I can be in the "normal" range Looks like I will need to do 2 more rounds to get to my new goal. Hope you guys have a fantastic week ![]()
