Learning to eat correctly
I read this a lot. I had to "re-learn" to eat the correct way. So I thought about that. Then I realized I dont think I ever really have. We always had junk food and sodas in the house as a kid. We ate fast food a lot too. I grew up moved out got married and made the same decisions. So in truth I am just now learning to eat right not re-learning. Are any of yall the same as me?

I'm in the same boat - growing up I never knew what was really healthy or not. Just assumed that how mom and dad ate is how I was supposed to. Not so much. After a few years of being out on my own I couldn't take it anymore. It really hurts me to go home and see my parents still have the same eating habits and are not getting any healthier. I hope to become THEIR influence now that I've lost and kept off weight and feel much better.

AWWW, Poor Kitty in Your Avi!!!!!
he looks so sad!!! Sorry to threadjack, but reading your post and looking at your avi, was just too much temptation, so cute! Sorry I can say I had the same experience. My mom cooked home food. I went through a rebellious teen-young adult where I tried vegetarianism, and various other diet styles just to annoy my mother from the way she remembers it. I ate at the school cafeteria mostly, but had my share of junk food. I found out about Low carb in my final college year, and tried to model after that so I've had a pretty good head start when I moved out on my own. But I see how my friends don't have any real food in their kitchens when I visit and it blows my mind that they ate like that at "home" except for when "mom cooked dinner" it was all convenience and fast food. My BF wouldn't touch raw chicken or beef till he was in his 30's. Now he's learning to cook real food too.
