Skinny for the Holidays!

The best Christmas gift I can think of is to be comfortable in my own skin and healthy. The jaw dropping looks for those I haven’t seen since the last holiday season is another wicked benefit. I’ve come a long way towards that goal since starting HCG in May. I had a difficult time stabilizing this last round due to circumstances both in and out of my control. My solution is to do round 3 correctly and hopefully stabilize like I did the first round and come into the holidays at goal. Although I lose very slowly, HCG is the only thing that has been able to get me past this hump and so close. I start loading Saturday, October 8th. I invite you to join me for the ride and share your own journeys. I can use all the help and support I can get.

That is an awesome Christmas gift!

I am going to start my 2nd Round on October 28. I am looking forward to the holidays and seeing friends/family I haven't seen in a while too.

Yep...should be seriously fun Yesterday I played a scholarship audition class for our dancers with a couple of guest judges I haven't seen in several months. The lady's comment was, "So...are you wearing MERRY'S clothes now??" (Merry is my 17 year old ballerina)...so...that was pretty fun

Well that had to totally make your day!

My favorite comment was from a sweet Aunt I have lunch with monthly. She said "you've really lost weight" and as I was walking out of the restaurant ahead of her she said "I mean you have really lost weight".

Today I start loading. I want to concentrate on low carb, high fat & protein for load, so last night I had pasta for the first time in months and a banana for lunch. Don't you know I'm down a pound. It's like the day before you get your hair cut you have a great hair day.

Thanks! This will be my 2nd round. I have 4 more days of Phase 3. I lost about 22 pounds my first round and have been able to maintain during these past 3 weeks.

Terri--question for you...I see you only have 4.5 lbs to go until you get to goal. Are you stopping at goal or just doing the round and seeing how low you get? I'm asking because my boyfriend has a little more to lose and he loses fast so I'm wondering what he should do if he gets to his goal fairly quickly (like say around day 15 of P2)--would he move into P3 then or stay in P2 until day 23?

Hey Nicole,
I loose very slow. I'll be happy with goal, but if I loose a little more for a cushion

How's you're plan going today?

Hi Mary,
Great Luck! Sounds totally doable. I'm up .80 from one day loading yesterday. Focused mostly low carb. How'd you do?

My DH was down 14+ by day 14 and just done with the diet. He switched to P3 at that point and is doing great.

In Dr. Simeons Protocol in Pounds and Inches (talking about hcg injection treatment) he said that the shortest course of treatment was 23 days. His reasoning was that shorter period, stopping hcg earlier, would result in gaining the weight back. If you reach your weight goal before the 23 days then you should continue the hcg but add calories up to a range of 800 to 1000. (Info found on pg 24-25 in P&I)

Nicole, anyone who gets to their goal before the 23 minimum dosing days just hangs out there and ups their protein and veggie calories to quit losing. Still doing just the VLCD foods list, just more of them, starting with about 800 calories and then incrementally going up from there until the weight loss stops. I've seen people do it. It seems then their P3 should be relatively easy because they're partially "stabilizing" while ending P2.

Terri, he didn't gain? Dr S says "may regain" if you don't do the whole 23 days, says that is the minimum (usually) time to reset the hypothalmus. I sure need that, so I've never done a too-short round. I need all the help I can get!

No, but guys get away with murder. He can also cheat like crazy for a couple days, gain a few pounds and drop right back down to below LDW, and then has the nerve to complain he hasn't lost any more weight.
But then again he's not a life time dieter like me, so probably hasn't screwed himself up like I have.

I hear ya. All my hubby has to do to drop weight is eat *less* ice cream and cut out beer. LOL

And you're right about the lifetime diet thing. Except when I completely gave up a few years ago, I started dieting when I was a freshman in high school. That's 35 years! What damage I have done to my poor body. And that's the reason I always tell people to be nice to their body, it has to do a lot of work and repair all the damage we've done metabolism-wise. I'm sure glad for hcg.

Sounds like we're authoring the same book I couldn't be happier about finding HCG as well, and I couldn't be in better company!

So do you feel that your hypothalmus is being reset? I felt that way on the first round. I sure hope to get there this time and stay there.

Oh, absolutely! I know my hypothalmus has reset and reset each time I do a round. I'm sure of it. The fact that I CAN control my weight now is proof positive for me. Even if I go up a few pounds, that's it, and I can get it under control pretty quickly.

Also my whole mindset has changed. This has been a long-term lifestyle change now. I am really grateful also that the rounds were designed like they were to be able to take breaks and get mentally prepared and learn how to stabilize on the way down. Trying to lose over 100 pounds was very frightening. It was terrifying to think I wouldn't be able to keep it off. But now I know I can, in fact, I knew as soon as Round 2 was over and I stabilized and went on vacation and had a ball and could get right back down so quickly. It gave me the absolute assurance I needed that I could do this and keep it off at the end.

I know what you mean. I do feel like I have more control now. Tools, if you will, to actually control the direction I go. It's a little scary from time to time when a few days of trying to figure it out seems like an eternity. But each time I learn a lot about myself. It seems so strange I had to wait so long to start to get to know this person. I have to admit I think about your thread name of the "advantages of being a multi-rounder" every time I go through that learning curve. I feel like I've been doing this for five years instead of five months.

I know what you mean about feeling like it takes an eternity to figure it out when you're going through it. That's one of the reasons I like this board so much. There's usually someone around to talk you down off the wall when you're freaking out! It helps to get perspective. I've totally needed that a time or two!

Well I'm up 3.6 from load. A little more than I had hoped, but totally doable. Off to "loser land" I go!
