1st day of P3 and I feel like a fat cow

Ok, so it's 9PM, I'm winding down my first day of P3...and I feel like a fat cow! I'm SOOO full. I'm worried that I overdid it today and I'm SO scared to step on the scale tomorrow. Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast: 107 calories
Strawberry smoothie consisting of
Strawberries, 1 cup
Baking cocoa, unswtnd, 1/2 tablespoon
Spinach, fresh, 2 cups
Unsweetened almond milk, 6 ounces
Hot water with lemon juice

Snack: 123 calories
Coffee with half 'n half, 6 tablespoons

Lunch: 653 calories
Salad with roasted chicken breast, 5 ounces
One hard-boiled egg
Avocado, 1/2
Lettuce, Baby Romaine Salad, 2 cups
Tomatoes, Cherry, 1/2 cup
Dressing, Creamy Ranch, 2 tablespoons

Dinner: 716 calories
Beef chuck roast, 5 1/4 ounces
Dressing, creamy Italian, 2 1/2 tablespoons
Pepperocinis

Total calories for the day: 1595

I also started taking digestive enzymes, probiotics, potassium, magnesium, l-carnitine, and a "super fat burner." I drank lots of water today.

My tummy feels bloated and my jeans are tight as I'm sitting here typing this. I hate that feeling after feeling so "skinny" these last few days.

Thoughts on my menu or suggestions for me going forward into the next few days?

You will be *fine*. That sounds like a good first day. If your weight goes up at all, it will be because you have food digesting that has not made it out yet. You might actually have to bump your calories up a bit, but that will come with time. Good luck and enjoy p3.

I know how you feel hikergurl! Today is Day 3 of P3 and I can see my shrinking tummy from P2 filling out again. It's so depressing - I just want to call it quits and say HCG didn't work for me.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I was wondering if anyone could help me with a quick question: what amount of gain should get me concerned? I woke up today with a gain of 0.6 pounds but I'm guessing I need to give my body some time to get used to P3 foods (*cough* eggs and cheese *cough*). So, after how many pounds am I supposed to stop thinking 'this is normal' and start thinking 'I'm screwed'??

Thanks for your help!

You are doing great, OC. NOBODY can expect their weight to stay on the same number everyday. Especially not a WOMAN somebody The gain that is supposed to concern you is the "over 2 lbs above LDW"...and other than that, your weight will fluctuate. (Skinny people's weight fluctuates too... Those fluctuations are normal normal normal. "Screwed" isn't even in the picture here.) Your tummy being rounder just means you have food in your guts...it takes some time for your body to get what it can use out of the nutrition you're giving it now (which it needs...especially the larger amounts of protein after P2...and larger amounts of protein and fat take longer to digest than the amount and type of food you were eating in P2) and get rid of what it can't use.

Relax...stress makes your bod work to retain fat. No kidding. Read about hormone cascades related to stress responses...even relatively small freak outs. I'm a total believer after my Dr gave me some reading to do. We shoot ourselves in the weight loss when we get too wound up worrying about stuff. P3 is scary as heck, I agree...but try to drink a ton of water and actually enjoy the bounty and variety of food...and relax.

You're doing SO WELL!

Oh, I'm so jealous of your menu! What everybody posted is true. Hopefully, your hypothalamus is resetting and you will maintain during P3 (and you can go as high as 2 lbs over your LDW, so there's always that little cushion.) I think as long as you didn't stop P2 after a big weight loss, you should be fine.

I took my last dose of hCG when I was 129.8--the next day I was 127.8! If I had taken my last dose on that day, I would have been chasing my tail trying to get back to that lower number. I think this is why some people stabilize a few pounds over their LDW. If I had more rounds to do, I would stop on a "stall" (my next round is hopefully my last!)

Good luck to you!

Thanks, ladies, for your encouragement. Y'all rock!

I didn't gain anything on the scale this morning! Still sticking at 170.2 (1.2 above LIW). My tummy is definitely having issues. I've had "the runnies" for 2 days straight (sorry if TMI). I'm taking 1000mg magnesium every day because last P3, I had constipation issues and don't want that to happen again. I'm hoping my tummy is just trying to adjust and I'll regulate here in the next couple days. I'm kind of miserable, though.

Not sure what I'm going to eat today. I've had coffee with hnh and sugar-free Torani white chocolate syrup this morning (I'm in heaven). I think I'll have another salad with chicken for lunch. Maybe tuna with mayo tonight.

oo...I've been thinking about ordering that white chocolate Torani...I'll take "heaven" as a recommendation

Sorry your tummy is not happy right now. If you continue to have trouble, try backing off your mag a bit (every other day or 1/2 the dose) until you know you really need it.

If you do ok with dairy and like greek yogurt and can get some with active cultures, that might help your GI tract to get itself in order. (I imagine that white chocolate Torani would be BLISS in the GY!)

I also had "runnies" the first day I started P3 for the last two rounds. The first time I thought it was from eating xylitol products, but the last time I didn't eat any and it still happened. I think it is the body's shock that I was putting fat and dairy into it. After the first day or so it stopped.

Magnesium will definitely contribute to looser bms. Taking probiotics daily is a good idea--I take them every day.

You ladies are just wonderful! I swear, if it weren't for this board, I would have given up on HCG a LONG time ago!

I'm doing an Atkins Induction style P3 and not really counting calories at all but watching out for sugars and carbohydrates. I'm taking each day as they come and hoping to see positive results. I would really love some of that miracle reshaping soon, please!

Again, thank you all for being just wonderful!!

Tummy troubles are common at the beginning of P3, partly because of the change from a super-low fat diet in P2 to one with more fat. Even programs like NutriSystem (also very low fat) give people stomach upset if they suddenly dive into high fat foods like french fries. Even the healthy foods you've listed are higher in fat than your body has been digesting, so it's not surprising that you've had some trouble -- same exact thing happened to me!
