Concerns about P4
I may unfortunately be starting P4 at the top of my window (2 lbs over LDW).
I eat high fat and high protein on P3. I'm concerned about what will happen when I add in carbs. Do you guys lower your fat intake when adding in a starch? |

For the most part, yes. I don’t expect that long term, I can get away with having deep fried protein and cream all day long (if combining with carbs). So yes, I tone it down a bit more.
As a lifestyle, I don’t eat bread, pasta, potatoes or rice, but even with adding the other types of carbs in P4, I try to ween off of the super high fats. |

I actually make sure that I am eating fat WITH my carbs as theoretically it slows digestion/absorption of the carbs. Like Millenia, I watch the totals though and cut back a bit on both fruit (sugar) and added fats--I use HnH instead of HWC, 1T of butter instead of 2, etc.

I did lower my fat intake... I switched to light cream in my coffee, low fat GY, low fat ricotta etc... also, I kept low processed carbs part of my lifestyle.. however... the fun part was I didn't stress about it.. I ate what I wanted.. it was awesome and I can't wait to get back there!!!!

Finishing up my last day of 3 week P4! I am still 7 pounds below my LDW which is where I have been since P3. I am amazed and astonished that yesterday I ate out with dh twice. Had Seafood Quiche, salad and fresh fruit cup.....last night we went to a mexican rest. and I ate Tortilla chips and salsa, steak and chicken Fajitas (without the wrap), salad, quacamole and sour cream. and this morning I am down .2 lb. YEA!!!! Thank you Dr. S.
I have added very little carbs or starches. For me they are addictions I will live without!!!! I do eat fruit several times a day. I choose the 0% or 2 % Fage Greek Yogurt with my fruit. What a treat. Good luck to you and to all of us as we transition to living with our losses!!! |

Thanks, ladies! Your comments make sense. But I cannot live without heavy cream in my coffee!

But I have learned the same thing--I was so rigid about Simeons protocol, and so impressed with weight loss in my first round and stabilization in P3 that I ate the way he described in P4 and I started to gain. Because for me, I cannot "eat whatever I please". Even though I was not over-indulging, flour and sugar make me gain. And you are right--they are addictive! See you all in P4 sometime next week! ![]()

I'm not that amazing--it is this diet! I'm so grateful to Dr. Simeons for creating this and the miracle of the internet that I found hCG. I feel like if I can do this, anybody can. My doggie is 4 years old, and she's such a riot! We just love her. ![]() Betty, you are pretty amazing yourself! People like you are what make this forum such a pleasure. Thank you so much! ![]() |

My dog's name is Sanibel. I had some very German Shepherd type names picked out but the family finally didn't like any of them! (We used to go to Sanibel Island for vacation when the kids were younger.) She's such a great dog. So much fun. Congratulations on your success as well! One more round! Very exciting. I'm strangely nervous about starting my 5th round in three weeks--I'm worried I'm still going to have my saddlebags. But the last time I was that slender I wasn't working out with weights, so hopefully that will help. Good luck!! ![]() |
