Having shortness of breath...

For the past 2 days, I have had shortness of breath. I started R2 of P2 last Saturday... has anyone else had this issue? Cannot tell if I am having a 48 hour panic attack, or if it is something related to HCG. I am really stressed out, but have not had SOB for such a long time that is related to stress. I am on pellets. Help!

Hi Dbunny,

I am not sure if you have ever had asthma, but I never had it until I was 45 and it was adult onset asthma related to allergies. If you live in the mideast or midwest, lots of pollen and stuff in the air right now. I actually woke up today with shortness of breath, so I am certain I have a bit of asthma. I really don't think it has anything at all to do with Hcg.

I didn't have asthma as a child or teenager but had symptoms of it a few years ago in my 30's. but it would only come on sometimes or when I did certain exercises so it was hard to get anyone to take me seriously or get any help or diagnosis. It's be so seriously sometimes, I'd lay on the floor and cry cause I felt like I was dying.

Finally my BF made me take a puff from his inhaler and my entire world changed. The panicky feeling subsided, my throat felt open, my chest didn't feel like it was in a press, my cranky mood improved instantly like 3,2,1, Smile. My head went from feeling hot and tight to light and clearheaded. Seriously, I thought I was dying and was suddenly lifted into the glorious clouds of light and freedom.

since then I've been prescribed my own inhaler after an ammonia exposure and I keep it with me for those Odd moments when I'm doing nothing strenuous and I suddenly become SOB. BF told me to be aware of those sensations and use the inhaler rather than suffering. I believe the ingredient is Albuteral, or sometimes call Sambuterol.

I'd get a check up with the Physician and tell him how you are feeling and what you suspect it to be and see if they'll do a lung test and maybe a rescue inhaler like mine.

Also, since I live in OK, the wind has been ferocious and all of the weed pollens are circulating...ragweed, sageweed, etc. It begins about mid-Aug through late Sept. and sometimes until the first frost. I notice that once I became healthy, the only issue I have is when the seasonal allergies kick my butt.

dbunny, I'm just now looking at this, but please talk to your doc if this is still going on. It could be *anything*...and until you know which anything it is, you should take it easy. I didn't have anything like that happen on HCG but really...it could be so many different things. Be careful. Call your Dr.

Thanks all... Better today, but you all may be onto something with the pollen and such. It is raining out and I am not having any issues so far today. I do need to make an appt with my doctor and make sure I mention this.. It was a little scary!

I hope you have seen your doctor for this. There are many reasons for shortness of breath. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi dBunny,
Hope you are feeling much better today. I haven't had shortness of breath but am just finishing up (I hope) with an upper respiratory infection and bronchitis. Lots of folks with allergies here in NC too right now. I'm in my 3rd week of P4 and have been off the hcg drops since 8/14 so I don't think that was in any way a factor for me. I do have allergy and sinus issues. Please do consider talking with the doctor though and get checked out. Good luck to you.
Betty
