What kind of wine do you do well with?

We have happy hour today and I'd like to do wine (even though I'm not a fan, particularly). I'm usually a straight tequila/diet/soda water type of person.

But I have studying tonight plus class tomorrow, and I don't want to be drunk from straight liquor. Need to be productive when I get home.

BUT, I def. don't want to see ANY gain on the scale tomorrow due to extreme sugar in wine. I'd rather not drink at all if that's the case.

Any particular wine you recommend? I'm on week 3 of P4

For me I've found that sweet are bad...I can do a cab or a merlot but the blends are nice too if you're not a wine person. CupCake red velvet is good, 14 hands hot to trot, 7 deadly zins and my fav is Menage Trois. All of those are blends and IMO really yummy!

Both of these are probably about as high sugar content as you can get. yes, they're yummy but it's because of the sugar. YMMV to any who try them.

I recently enjoyed a glass of cabernet at dinner, and a glass of merlot at lunch (two different days), and didn't have any increase from them. I was really worried, but it turned out okay.

I'm usually a bourbon girl, but for me, a merlot spritzer is a good choice for when I'm at a wine event.

merlot for sure. It's lower in sugar and i find more drinkable than some of the stronger reds. You can also "cut" it with soda water to make a spritzer, like emel suggested.

I do Merlot or Red Zinfandel!

For Tequila I found single serve SF Margarita Mix at Target and order tequila and water Tall with a lime. When I get it I add my own margarita mix- very portable! And delicious!

Is it pretty good? I'm on the quest for a good one cause I love a regular margarita on the rocks but SO much sugar! I tried Zilch off netrition and skinny ***** margarita and found Baja Bob's is the only one so far thats "ok" tasting but still not preferred. On spark people I found a recipe that is sprite zero, tequila lime juice and crystal light lemonade mixer (the one for 16.9 oz water) and after one the acid is too much lol!

II love the target ones! I will squeeze a lemon and lime in them. Also depends on what kind of tequila u put in it. NO triple sec. I have had a few friends try them and like them too. Salt on the rim helps a lot to make it taste like the real deal. Plus it is around $3 for 10 servings, not really a big gamble. I like that they have single servings. Crystal light has the bigger ones u make by the pitcher- but I haven't tried them yet.

Be sure to use a 16oz glass or the flavor can be somewhat strong. Most importantly ZERO carbs so u can have a few without gain.
